Finished the game the other day

My final review is 9/10

but this game is a strong 9/10.

This game is amazing for all the points I listed earlier also in the 2nd half of the game the game didn’t lag at all which was fantastic but I noticed when I went back to the desert the game was still lagging a bit & I don’t recall having any crashes either.

In my 2nd half of the game here are some moments I truly enjoyed:

The rival battles
The cave before victory road
the Pokémon league (beat on my 1st try )
the plot twist of the Pokémon Champion
catching a certain legendary Pokémon after defeating Team Neo Rocket’s leader was a great surprise & thoroughly enjoyed
being able to mega evolve
The strong Pokémon your able to catch
going to gold isle
the double battle gym

The only reason this game dropped for me from a 9.5 to a 9 is again the shadow Pokémon and Neo Rocket. Now that I finally finished the game shadow Pokémon & Neo Rocket just felt like a bonus like an extra add on to the game. When I made my first review of the game I was unaware that the game was made in 42 days. Now that I’m aware of that, I definitely want to cut the developers some slack and say thank you

. You guys did an outstanding job with the limited amount time it took you guys to make the game.

My only final offer/input for the makers of the game:

Because you guys made such an amazing game. I suggest making an add on to this game or a prequel that dives more into Team Neo Rocket & how the leader became the leader along with how Team Neo Rocket formed. I only suggest this because you guys did do an excellent job at making Team Neo Rocket, difficult, interesting, and mysterious. It very much so gave Team magma/Sapphire vibes. Also you guys surprised us with some really cool shadow Pokémon. So yea that’s my only suggestion cause I would love to play more of your work but besides that this game gave me as a fan/player everything I needed thank you

We are definitely gonna be working more on this game, so your feedback will be super helpful. There's definitely a lot of stuff about this game we wish we had more time to work on, so we hope to remedy that in future updates.

To comment on some of the feedback you and many others have given:

We definitely agree that the story is pretty lacking and barebones. Our main goal and first priority with this game was honestly just to make a full Pokémon game with 8 gyms and an E4 + champion, while also fitting in all 898 Pokémon somehow. And since we only had about 42 days, we didn't have a whole lot of time to do story.
The story will definitely be worked on in future updates.

We are aware that the game has pretty bad perfomance in a lot of places. We're always looking for ways to improve the game's performance. A lot of the framerate issues have to do with the engine we're using, so there's sadly not much we can do about that for the time being. Thankfully, a lot of people have reported that if the game starts lagging a bit, restarting the game can help in some cases.

Thank you for this update although this is a small update not a major update like new region or anything I still happy seeing this game still getting updated because it's pretty unfortunate if this game just biang abandoned after game jam, with such beautiful minimalistic graphics and fun minimalistic stories i think this game have many potential

You can relearn moves in the party menu

You can speed up only during battles by pressing Q. Once you beat the game you can speedup outside battles too.
