Welcome to the Tepora Region. Challenge the Gym Challenge and become the Tepora Champion! Meet all kinds of different Pokémon, including a full completable National Dex along with Mega Evolutions, Shadow Pokémon and an estimated 10h story line to go along with it. You meet tons of different people. And you can even challenge the Battle Facilities once you've become the champion. But that's all I will give you.

Technical note: if the game ever starts lagging or shows artifacts, save and reopen the game. Hopefully that fixes it!

Hi ENLS, Voltseon and Tristantine. Here is my review of the game!
Seriously? Only 898 Pokémon?? NO Hisuian forms??? Where can I get Lucario? Or Garchomp? There were a ton of bugs and crashes...I used joiplay.

But otherwise, this ROM hack was pretty good.
  • You nailed the gen 3 aesthetic. The ekat tiles were a good choice, the character designs were great, and the gen 3 style music was perfect. This game felt like a very very polished ruby/sapphire game.
  • I loved the abundance of pokemon choices. The OW encounters were really fun (please make it a resource 🙏 ), and the time and weather system were nice too.
  • The maps were really fun to explore. So many hidden items too!!! My favourite route was probably the desert one.
  • So many features! Dexnav, berries (thank you for the Lotad reference), megas, post-game, BATTLE FRONTIER??? You didn't have to add so much content goddamn.
  • The balancing wasn't too bad imo. It was a little difficult initially, but the game became much easier at the later gyms.
  • I thought there were a bit too many trainers at some points. However, the speed-up button made it a lot less tedious to go through.
  • The gym puzzles were great. I loooved the fairy gym one.
  • I know the story wasn't the main priority, but I kinda wished the rivals and evil team were developed more!
Here is my final team:

Blitz carried HARD.

But yeah, I really enjoyed this game. This is one of the most impressive jam games ever. I can't imagine how much time this project took...please take care of yourselves! 😂

Is there any easier way to farm stuff at the Game Corner? If not, is there any way to edit the save files to give me more coins? Because there is no way in hell I'm spending hours grinding that.

were to fine rock smash
U can get It after beating the Jalsin City Gym

how do i get a moon stone?
You can spot on the right-down part of the map of the Tepora region a place called "hubris tunnel" and a man in the tunnel gives you the ability to dig up items in the walls of said tunnel, many items can be found including stuff like: all the possible stones, elemental plates, battle items, shards, and rare bones sold for high price, allowing you to farm money infinitly. Hope this helps!

View attachment 12855 I have no idea how to solve it
When you open the zip. version of the game in winrar you have a few options like: Audio, Fonts, Graphics, Game.exe etc.

One of them is called "mkxp.json", open it and a visual studio code will apear, find the line
"useHTTPLite" and change it the "true" part to "false" and open the game once again. If it still doesn't work then close the zip. version entirely and re-open it again.

Hope this helps!

Open the downloaded version, it should open in winrar, if it does then just click Game.exe and it opens. In other cases i can't really help you

Hey I'm playing the game right now ! I absolutely love it. borrowed my friends CP (shout out to them). question tho, how does the friendship leveling work in this game? is it like the old games? and is there a way to track because i have riolu and eevee and im trying to get a lucario and umbreon. Both have been in battles, leveled up 11+ and i've been walking around with both and still no evolution. I don't mind grinding it out but is there a way to check how happy my pokemon are because clicking on the following sprite seems to have random emotions. nonetheless love to game! hope to hear some insight on this soon.

Honest review (15 hours played. 5 gym badges)

This game is an absolute 9.5/10 🌟🌟 . This game literally feels like what a Pokémon game should be! I have never in my 22 years of playing Pokémon have had so much fun investing time into catching Pokémon and leveling up different kinds of Pokémon & that’s honestly a shout out to the creators because this game is hyper focused on giving fans and players OPTIONS + EVERYTHING YOU NEED to have an absolute blast! Something that I absolutely think is missing In every rpg Pokémon game I’ve played.

What do I mean by this ? Allow me to explain (no order):

1st Reason SEASONAL POKÉMON. In any giving area of the map you can expect to find different mash ups of Pokémon based on the time, weather, and or season that this game offers and i'm not talking your 2-3 or 4-5 pokemon. To give you a visual In the first route alone there are atleast 15-20 different Pokémon to choose from ! No need to worry about choosing Pidgey or rattata. My first Pokémon caught were snorunt, sneasel, and rookidee!

2nd Reason POKÉMON AVAILABILITY. this game doesn’t lock awesome Pokémon for later on in the game like the main line games. This however makes absolute sense because we’re 9 gens into Pokémon and we should be able to catch and evolve cool Pokémon before our 7th or 8th gym badge but Gamefreak doesn’t understand this & this is where this game shines. For example: I caught a scyther & evolved it into a scizor before the 2nd gym . I caught a Lapras surfing I believe during my 3rd or 4th gym badge, I mean the list goes on. This also includes roaming Pokémon. I swear one of my favorite moments in the game were seeing two manetrics roaming in the grass across from each other while a spinda laid in the cut followed by an electabuzz walking around with its elekid behind it. If that doesn’t give you a Pokémon feel I don’t know what will.

3rd Reason AESTHETICS …. This game does an absolute phenomenal job at making everything look aesthetically pleasing. sprite designs of roaming Pokémon & Pokémon in battle are French kiss. Sometimes I literally ask myself “what’s that?” As if I’m the OG TV Show going “who’s that Pokémon?!” the world design itself is Fan-tastic! Players will absolutely submerge in the world as each city is unique and captivating. One city has drifoons’ floating around. Man I promise you each city has its pieces that just make it absolutely stand out. Further more the score is great and finally what truly needs to be highlighted is how the developers of this game wonderfully mixed the right Pokémon together for each situation & environment. in one section of the game you will find yourself running through a grassy mountain range, it’s summer time, 1pm and the sun is blazing. As your screen lightly saturates and tints up from the sun rays: roselia and stournjerner are walking around. Ponytas are eating grass. Watch out for Togedemarus! Their small but they will pop up and chansey is hiding in the shaking grass waiting to show it’s itself! Then within that same area later in the evening it’s time to get ready for battle as the sun sets and Hiryama’s are towering over the trees and you better be prepared or u will be arm thrusted XD ! Finally, the updated and new Pokémon moves look cool & fun. I really like how sucker punch and flame wheel looks.

4th Reason DIFFICULTY : The difficulty is just French Kiss (meaning magnificent, if u didn’t know). SIDE NOTE: (Some people online complained about the tm or hm emulator thing being later on in the game but I actually like that the game makes u give Pokémon tm’s early on & it makes it feel like a real Pokémon game! Plus you can relearn moves, I mean the makers of this game really made sure players had the most possible options for max level of enjoyment. now back to the difficultly. After 15hours of playing this game I personally think the scaling of trainers, gym leaders, & wild Pokémon are just fine. In fact I am thoroughly enjoying it. The A.I's are smart enough to use/make moves that make sense, you can re battle trainers once they call you after getting your Number (I really like this feature), and wild Pokémon have moves that are reasonable enough the give just the right amount of challenge you need.

5th reason EXPERIENCE. I can’t stress enough how many enjoyable moments this game makes. An example of this is when I believe I was heading to the second gym. Players crossed the sea by boat while some nostalgic hoen boat riding music played. We were then dropped off at this very windy sand desert (probably one of my favorite places in the game). Seeing skamory’s fly around, the sand bustling, going from running to walking as you enter the deep pits of sand, the music, trainers digging for fossils and all the little Pokémon that fit a desert like area like trapinch, gligar, & darumaka… Creators of this game Thank you. Those type of moments truly submerged me into the game. & like I said there are many more I could speak on I can honestly have a whole discussion of my experiences playing this game. But that’s just one of my insights I wanted to share. I logged in 15hours of game play exploring, training & catching Pokémon while going for my gym badges that’s how much fun I had with this game (I think i'm at 100-110 caught). I think if the makers wanted to expand on this game adding in meaningful side quests for money or certain items/poke balls that would be great because it would fit into this “open world" felt game & it would give players an extra reason to explore/re-explore all the places this game has to offer. I’m only offering this because of how I played the game thus far & for me this game is definitely give more slow paced & enjoy the vibe, vibes.

6th reason GENEROSITY. To finally reiterate this game truly does give you everything you need. Battle items, TM’s, pokeballs, u name it. Another thing I want to hightlight are items you get exploring the world. There great, thank you. I actually go out of my way now for items laying around because at this point I know it’s worth it. Also If you seen my comments prior to this I asked if there was a way to gauge happiness of Pokémon. Lol I take it back it’s not needed. As of 15hours logged I finally have my Umbreon and Lucario :D. I had to grind for it but that’s because I choose to do it the hard way this game literally offers to give your pokemon massages, you can give berries to your pokemon to make them more friendly, you’ll find rare candies, and a soothe bell early on. I mean this game is amazing. Oh! & this game gives you a sleep machine just in case you want to speed things up and get right to the time you need to raise your pokemon. (As of writing this I just remembered about the sleep machine I have yet to use it but I will definitely be using it now to catch gengar & dusclops).

Now the reason why this game doesn’t have a 10/10 in which some of the drawbacks make sense why there drawbacks (Disclaimer: These are my Pro's & Cons after 5 badges completed and 15 hours of game play)

Drawback #1 - LAGGING: the game lags. Now the game lagging makes absolute sense. Almost every second of this game something is moving changing or popping up from weather, to Pokémon(s) walking around to even the game having its random encounters. Not to mention the trainers waiting to catch you walking by or call you & the story line arc when it’s enabled. Because so much is going on at once and being that everything is sprite based my assumption is that the rom can’t fully handle eeevvveeerrrything the creators tried to put it in. Like at times you can literally feel the game trying to process what your doing so that it can give u the best experience & for that I appreciate it. (This could also be due to my friends computer &&& I'm not mad about that xD )

Drawback #2 - SHADOWS: The shadow Pokémon/Story. Now I absolutely love that shadow Pokémon are in this game & but after logging 8hours into the game they were pretty much non existent. & once they are existent they were they don’t flow into the game well at all. the reason why is because the game doesn’t give a reason as to why there are shadow Pokémon here in the first place (from my experience of 15 hours & 5gym badges) and when they do come about, u will find that regular trainers have them which to much me destroys the allure of “shadow Pokémon” and it also doesn’t help the fact that u won’t expect it and now u can’t catch them because you don’t have Pokéballs. This can be troublesome especially in a game like this where u have an unlimited amount of options on things to buy (which I love) so the money be running low FAST my G. Also the explanation onto how to catch them was quick & not thorough I lost my opportunity to catch alola shadow raichu because I didn’t now I can catch it with a poke ball other than a regular poke ball. Also the shadow Pokémon story so far just feels… non existent. I don’t know yet if it’s a “later in the game” thing but we will see. I will update my critiques once I finished but a concept like shadow Pokémon should have definitely been flushed out more & introduced earlier.

Drawback #3 - STORY LINE: Now I understand for the way I’m playing this game might be different from others but to me it feels like the games first focus is enjoy the "open world", catch Pokémon & then oh yea there’s a story line about shadow Pokémon if your interested in that and a rival that’s a simp and another rival that hates ur guts for some odd reason. Now I actually enjoy the 2 rival thing but It’s just THERE, && personally I don’t miiind it because I understand the trade off. Maybe the developers focused more on the actual game then it’s story and i understand that, that being said I can’t ignore that Its a drawback & would like the story to be more involved in the game if there were to be another update.

Drawback #4 - THE CRASHES: as stated in the 1st reason this game has ALOT going on & crashes WILL happen. Sometimes it crashes for the better sometimes it will crash for the worse. if u play this game, SAVE,SAVE,SAVE. save before you go to a different location, save after every 5mins, shoot save after each lvl up. Whatever u do save. & I promise you won’t trip when this joint crashes on you.

FINAL STATEMENTS: Again the highlights of this game really make it one of the best Pokémon games I’ve ever played. While everyone is complaining about Scarlet & Violet. Shattered Light is here to save the day. I understand this game is not an "Open World" games, there are level restrictions and such of that nature but I’m telling once you finish those questions and choose your first Pokémon it will literally feel like a world of its own, the fact that Pokémon sprites roam the world & with u, the fact that theres so much to find and do, the difficulty that’s reasonable, and it’s ability to make Pokémon that in mainline games u know u could never get till post game common and available is just magnificent. Thank you creators for making such a phenomenal game out of SPRITES you put games like scarlet & violet, sword and shield, & lets go to SHAME. Gamefreak has nothing on u & I can’t wait until it I finish the game :)
