Story

Gd18SKr.png

Welcome to Altera, a wild and diverse region that overflows with abundance as well as danger. It is also the only place in the Pokémon world that emanates large amounts of Flux energy, a potent resource that has many uses. Flux is primarily used in electricity generation, but it also has applications in hand-held technologies as well as Pokémon Battles. The value and power of this resource led to rapid economic growth of the region. However, shortly after humans began tapping into Flux energy for power, reports started to emerge about vicious, powered-up Pokémon appearing: the Alter Pokémon.

To combat these Alter Pokémon and preserve peace and prosperity in Altera, the Altera Pokémon League was formed. The purpose of this League is to produce strong trainers to fight the Alter Pokémon, rewarding them with money and fame. This prominent league attracts trainers from all over the world and is structured differently from a typical Gym challenge.

After a championship match in Condor City, while going home, three friends meet face by face with the Alter Pokémon threat and soon after embark on a life changing journey across the Altera Region!

This is everything I have in the zip file, and i checked and everything extracted matches it. I'm assuming the Flux.ini is what I need but....View attachment 16629
Update: Still no progress in fixing this issue, tried redownloading, re-extracting, and even restarting my device and no dice. Tried renaming things or swapping them around and nothing seems to resolve the issue...

After using all three playable characters in the game so far, here are the pros and cons of Pokemon Flux in my opinion:

Pros:
  • Innovative playable characters: they each have different families as opposed to one size fits all.
  • Beautifully designed fakemon. Cavamie for the win 😍
  • At least one fakemon w/ an unique way to evolve.
  • Storyline with intriguing villians. Are the Altairs really doing what's best for Altaria? Neat plot twist with the Champion.
  • Very beautiful graphics.
Cons:
  • The game crashes randomly w/ no error messages (it could be my old laptop).
  • Forced to play w/o items in battles (except things the pokemon can hold).
  • Have to pay to rename pokemon!
  • Not completed yet. Can hardly wait for more!

There are probably more good things, but can't think of them just now. About the cons: The forced to play w/o items in battles wouldn't be a big deal if we could farm the very few berries we acquire. It's hinted that there is a farm on route 2, but we cannot get to it as yet, and there are no small clods of dirt anywhere to plant berries along the routes. Having to pay to rename pokemon is absolutely ridiculous! Sometimes you name a pokemon something that's fitting for what it is when you caught it, but then it evolves and it no longer fits. Seeing as there a many fakemon where the player has no idea what these pokemon are gonna be like, to make them pay to rename their pokemon is very petty. You should be able to rename them w/o an NPC's help like in the most recent mainline games. With the crashes, it was really hard going through the cave even though I saved very often (every time fighting a pokemon or trainer and before going through any doorways), because each time the game crashed, the lanturns would turn back off and I would have to go back to relight them all once more, then the game would crash again right before the last one, and i had to start over again.

Are there cheat codes (for Cheat Engine or similar) available somewhere already? I assume trading won't work, and for a singleplayer, cheating should be alright, I think.
I'd just like to skip some of the grind and make hunting for perfect IVs maybe a bit easier xD If the IVs show, my autistic perfectionist brain can only settle for perfect ones xD

I wouldn't know about a cheat engine... don't use them. However, trading does work. I've used both wonder trade and the GTS. Cheating on a game is just silly IMHO. Unless you have a stake in saving your life in real life, cheating is just a worthless act.

Cheating isn't worthless if it helps me not lose interesting in a game because I spend most of the time just doing the same stuff over and over again. Or I want to play a game for the story and the grinding just gets in between the actually enjoyable part for me. Like in Souls Games, stat raising VNs or similar. Repition for hours=Not fun, Story=Fun :3
That's why cheating is valuable! And Pokemon is a silly game after all, why not enhance it with silly methods?

Okay, I can see what you're saying. Cheating's not for me, but I can understand.

i agree a lot with a lot of this, but for me not not being able to use items that aren't held items or pokeballs i just find it an interesting and a bit more unique for the game.
and with the renaming you can actually rename your pokemon from the pokemon menu screen as the last option between summary, switch, item and then rename.
and lastly about the crashes i also had a couple crashes with my game but that was because of a technical issue with my pc which me and my brother were in the middle of upgrading and when we thought everything was good and ready and i was testing turned out it wasn't quite ready, and the crashes for me were mostly just the game closing down randomly which thankfully the autosaving in the game helped a lot for preventing any significant loss for, so i guess it might just be your laptop but i'm really bad with tech stuff so i wouldn't actually know so i'm just guessing

Oh, thanks for the information. I really didn't see that we could rename from the menu! The no items during battles is mainly my big thing is because I feel forced to play by another's likes/dislikes. I like having a choice on how I want to play. If someone chooses not to use items during battle, it's their choice. Also, this wouldn't be a bone of contention with me if they gave us ways to plant and farm berries.

yeah that's fair, and i guess they just haven't developed a farming area for that stuff yet

Thing is, it's hinted that there's a farm (run down if I recall) in the nw part of route 2. They knew they were making this held item only battles, so with all the other details they had in this game, there's no reason for no farming. Even if they didn't impliment the farm yet, there could just be random patches along the routes to plant 2 or 3 berries. I don't think I'm being nitpicky here.

The game looks really good (been watching someone playthrough it) however I can't seem to get it working on my PC...I'm running on windows and extracted it but when I open the game I'm given the message of "No game scripts specified (missing Game.ini?)"

Any help would be appreciated if we know what this is about.
if youre taking it out of the folder, that might be the issue. Idk why, but I can't open it from a shortcut on the desktop screen, you HAVE to open it from the folder.

Nope, everything is still in the folder. I extract the .zip and then don't touch a single thing, its really a shame, I've still been unable to play because of it.

I just finished playing Episode 1! The game's great! Though I've discovered a bug since my Minyan evolved into Vilucard: The sprites from the "continue game" window (sideways sprite)
Screenshot 2023-03-23 200142.jpg
and the one in the trainer card (front facing sprite)
Screenshot 2023-03-23 200044.jpg
show Cavamie instead of Vilucard for some reason and I don't know how to fix it...
