Notes:
I originally wasn't going to make something for this jam, but around Feb 7th I thought, "You know what? I'm down to make something small!"
So here's my small project! I was taking it easy at first, but to be honest, I grinded on it pretty hard for the last week before the jam deadline.
I'm pretty happy with how simple and fun the game is, and I've got a lot of ideas for additional content!
It's a lot of fun to shmoove as fast as possible, and aim for better times!
I hope you enjoy it!

My original idea was for Professor Shmoove to betray the player and try to kill us, but then I thought that wasn't a great idea! I don't know why, but for these game jams I always initially think of "evil scientist" and then transition the idea to "friendly scientist", haha!

I also originally had a Talonflame potion that would allow the player to fly over everything, but cut it on the last day because it broke everything! Funny how that works, ain't it?
Winter Jam 3 Requirements:
Plot Point: Technical Difficulties
(It's got both machine malfunctions and difficult/technical movements!)

Do you recommend playing GGG1 before playing this one? Also I really thought the video link would be a Rick Roll. I clicked on it anyways though, and wasn't disappointed!

You don't need to play GGG1 before checking out GGG2! There are certainly a couple references here and there, but GGG2 is definitely a standalone experience! 👍
Next Pog Jam when?
We'll see! The first Pog Jam was a global phenomenon after all! 👀

Hey Cam! I finished Go Go Golisopod 2 and I had a ton of fun! Thanks for making this game!
  • What a great sequel! I love how you kept what made the first game fun and added new twists and mechanics!
  • The map designs were really good. I had to think about how to optimise my time for almost every map. I can already see some insane speed running!
  • Great choice of music!
  • My only nitpicks would be some pixel density inconsistencies and the intro is a little long!

GAMERS!
Thank you so much for the feedback Kenny! I'm glad you had fun with GGG2! You managed to collect all the super cool gamer secrets too!

By the way, a new update to Go Go Golisopod 2 is AVAILABLE NOW!
Version 1.1 brings the following changes:
  • Various passability/tiling fixes
  • Slight economy balancing changes
  • Resolved a couple pixel density inconsistencies (small sprite tweaks!)
  • Fixed an issue where Autumn Dash displayed incorrect coin totals
  • Fixed an issue where players could stuck in Golem Gorge (berry bush, but no Munchlax)
  • Fixed an issue where some bridges did not allow players under when backtracking
  • Fixed an issue where Swampert could surf onto a wall in the 2nd bonus course
  • Fixed an issue where secret jumps were a little too secret in the 2nd bonus course
  • Fixed an issue where Prof. Shmoove would talk too fast in the Shmoove Island intro
  • Fixed an issue where the Kadabra in the bonus dimension expected too high of a score
  • Fixed an issue where players could get out of the map on Lunar Lap
  • Eliminated XP gain from wild encounters
  • Added a convenient shortcut in the bonus dimension
  • Added a "Speed" display in the pause menu
  • Changed all Power Potions to be Player Touch, walk over them to pick them up!
  • Added a fun little friend to the final boss in the bonus dimension

Hi Thundaga! I play your game and loved it!

The focus on speed was really fun and the pokemon swapping added a lot of depth and skill to that. Being able to collect coins and improve on times added a lot of replay value too! My personal favorite courses had to be Sandyghast Beach, Murky Mine, and Lunar Lap. Schmoving through the levels was really fun and I'll defiantly keep improving my times. (Also I like the easter egg at the end. It was timed so perfectly)

Hey look it's that game by that Thunder guy,
I loved GGG2 and found it quite challenging. I loved the story and characters along with the worldbuilding that went into Shmoove island. It really felt like a unique Pokemon Experience almost like a mystery dungeon, rumble, or something of that nature. I only have two small critiques, the first one being that with some of the levels (especially the expert ones) at first I felt as though I were just wandering and collecting coins and didn't really have much of a sense of direction. The airport in particular was one of my favorites but it took me so long to find the finish line. My solution to it would be this, maybe some kind of arrows on the floor or perhaps even lap markers to show the player which direction they need to go in. I liked all the branching paths that required different Pokémon to access them but especially when I had Rapidash and was just leaping over ledges I got lost and often ended up back at the beginning. My only other critique is that I felt like I kept bumping into trees and walls when I really just wanted to be running smoothly. I like all the obstacles especially the minecarts but the collision still slowed me down and was frustrating. Other than those two things, this game is definitely 12/10 going above and beyond thrilling and exhilarating! It was so much fun and I can't wait to keep on shmoovin!!!
