Story

Gd18SKr.png

Welcome to Altera, a wild and diverse region that overflows with abundance as well as danger. It is also the only place in the Pokémon world that emanates large amounts of Flux energy, a potent resource that has many uses. Flux is primarily used in electricity generation, but it also has applications in hand-held technologies as well as Pokémon Battles. The value and power of this resource led to rapid economic growth of the region. However, shortly after humans began tapping into Flux energy for power, reports started to emerge about vicious, powered-up Pokémon appearing: the Alter Pokémon.

To combat these Alter Pokémon and preserve peace and prosperity in Altera, the Altera Pokémon League was formed. The purpose of this League is to produce strong trainers to fight the Alter Pokémon, rewarding them with money and fame. This prominent league attracts trainers from all over the world and is structured differently from a typical Gym challenge.

After a championship match in Condor City, while going home, three friends meet face by face with the Alter Pokémon threat and soon after embark on a life changing journey across the Altera Region!

The game goes black randomly whenever I come back out of a building. This happened twice at two different houses. I also tried going back into the same house after rebooting I rebooted my game and it didn't happen in those houses a second time so it seems random.

Update: The black screen just happened after a battle as well. However, this time instead of hitting the "x", I hit the squares next to it which made the game screen smaller and I got the picture back. So apparently the larger full screen doesnt work to well.

BTW, love all the fakemon. I'm wondering if Squrmy is a pre-evolution to silcobra

Hey all! The Discord link was taken down because of an influx of spammers and trolls we were getting.. We do intend to open it up again at some point, likely closer to demo release. Will post a new link here as soon as it's made!
hahaha, i got the joke there, like influx and the game is called pokemon flux.

Not often do I encounter a fangame that completely blows me away from the start like Flux did. I may write something more in-depth when I finish the demo but everything from the aesthetics to the Pokémon to the music (especially daytime Condor City and Gull Coast!) is incredible so far. Great work :)

I would expect nothing less from JV at this point. He created one of the best if not THE best fan game ever (Pokemon Uranium).

great game, but please add speed up
The team may not want to add it. From a developer's point of view, there isn't really an incentive to add speedup because it means people are more likely to skip through all the dialogue and scenes they worked hard to create, and people can blast through the game at speeds not intended, making the game shorter than it is supposed to be.

I know you can find different pokemon depending on time of day, but are there seasons as well in this game? What generation is the time based on?

I don't see how this improves the quality of the game for the players. The main issue reason people want speedup in games is to make battles and overworld movement quicker and smoother; dragging those out to artificially inflate playtime is just going to make people drop the game.

what is the way to get zoura in the woods?
he is a 1% night encounter in the overworld as well as a static encounter deep in the woods, also at night

No seasons, time is not a real-time clock and can be manipulated directly with the wait feature.

We will not be adding speed up for this reason and also because we have to ensure things such as animation timing and movement are not busted alongside it. We do not want to add all this extra work onto our plate and would rather focus on making a game to be played normally.

Joiplay is not officially supported, if someone gets it working then that's great and good for them but we cannot provide support for this feature at this time.

I was playing for several hours (off and on, not straight), then all of a sudden it crashed, and when I tried to start it up again, got a message about needing a supported graphic card... not sure why I was playing for several hours before this occurred.

"No seasons, time is not a real-time clock and can be manipulated directly with the wait feature."

I know about the wait feature. My question was what times are considered morning, day, and night?

Oh! Apologies, I misunderstood you.

Day: 5AM to 8PM
Night: 8PM to 5AM
Within day, the following values are defined as well,
Morning: 5AM to 10AM
Afternoon: 2PM to 5PM
Evening: 5PM to 8PM

But only Morning has a defined encounter set different from the usual Day one.
