Pokémon Perilous Heights You've been up and down this mountain probably a thousand times. You know every tunnel, every crevice, every crack in every rock. And a nice story or five, to tell to the tourists who book your hiking tours. So the tour for the married couple who want to let her father relieve some old memories should be smooth sailing, right? There's always some danger involved, but nothing that's not manageable. Rampaging Pokemon, paths that are blocked by sudden rockfall, irregular weather or giant unmarked tunnel systems that lead deep into the mountain. Play as Hiker Henry and discover that there lies more beneath the surface of Mount Ygaros than he previously expected. About I realize quickly that I actually don't have too much to say about this game in particular, and I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing. It's mostly a story-driven adventure, and I've been starting to play around with mid-battle scripting a bit to maybe provide some challenging battles along the way, but that's basically all I want to say for now. As for the theme of Rebirth... I'm not sure if this counts. I tried to center it around it, but it came out more about immortality than rebirth if you break it down. But I'll... well, I'll let the judges judge that. Pokemon Aether and Chaos About the game: I set out to create this game for two main purposes. The first was to write music, specifically focusing on guitar, bass and drum. I wanted a challenge to write pieces I wouldn't usually try, ranging from heavy to ambient styles. The second was to create a Pokemon experience that I always wished the games would provide. Some of these being: The ability to use any line of Pokemon in your team and have them be viable for the entire journey. Allow almost all Pokemon lines to have three or more evolutions. Create a difficulty in which you cannot simply just over level to breeze through the game. Story: The story is linear and was not my main focus for the game, so don't expect anything fancy. Simply put, you are a young trainer aspiring to become champion of the realm. To do so requires obtaining 8 gym badges and defeating the current champions. On your journey, a local professor asks you to collect data on Pokemon as he has noticed a disturbance in the aether, that being a rise in chaotic energy. The realm and all living things rely on the balance of the aether and chaos to live. As you progress, the chaos energy seems to be growing in large amounts and not through simple natural means... What's different? A whole new region to explore, the region of Thion 357 total Pokemon with many totally new creations, both pre and post evolutions Uses the original Gen 1 & 2 Pokemon lines Many Pokemon have been given different typings Two new types: Aether and Chaos All Pokemon lines can be caught in the wild Gen 8 battle mechanics Super effective damage reduced to 3.3 and Not very effective increased to 1.15 A level cap for specific points of the game (can be turned off) An entire soundtrack of roughly 80 tracks specifically created for this game Screenshots: Potential issues: I have play tested this for several months now. It's been 2 years since the end of a war with Hoenn. The Parthenia region has nearly finished reconstruction, and the region is slowly returning back to its normal routine. The region of Parthenia is returning to its more industrial ways, being the major exporter of construction materials and Potions to the other regions of the world. However, it seems no one really knows how the war ended. Some believe Parthenia was beaten but Hoenn left the Parthenians with their dignity to allow for more peaceful reconstruction. But the government has made no confirmation of anything. However, you are just a student at the Pokémon Institute. And your path to graduation is to take on the Gym challenge in Parthenia. This Gym challenge is unlike many others, in that it chooses to adopt different strategies instead of adopting type themes. Along the way, you'll encounter the different military branches, as well as the military science groups that have developed Pokémon that were modified for war. And since you happen to start your adventure right as the Professor runs out of starters, you get to choose one of the Wartime Pokémon as your starter! Launched originally only in spanish, the game has been recently translated to english. Plot Five years have passed since the Metropia region was liberated from the tyranny of the villainous Mr. Apocalypse by the current Pokémon League Champion, the heroic Pokéman! People have adapted to this new era led by the Pokéheroes, Pokémon Trainers who focus their efforts to protect the citizens from evil doers with their Pokémon. The Starters You can choose one of these three starters before starting your journey: the Chameleon Pokémon Hiteon, the Flame Moose Pokémon Blazebi or the Drop Fish Pokémon Childrop. Each one of them excels at one way of battling. Characters You can choose to play with a male avatar or a female avatar. The avatar that you don't choose will become one of the rivals you'll encounter throughout the game. Trevor is the other main rival in the game, a shy and humble young trainer, who starts his journey at the same time as you in order to become braver. Team Kaiser is the biggest threat in Metropia since Pokéman became the new Champion. As you navigate through your first week at this new school, you will deal with new classmates, tests, field trips, hazing, and that strange locked door in the basement that you probably shouldn't have opened. ...this is a ghost story now. About Well, this is my first Game Jam game. Turns out my Computer doesn't really like the summer heat very much, so this came out a lot less polished than I hoped it would be, but the deadline is fast approaching so here we are. When I saw the theme was Simplicity I thought of a game that would keep your Pokemon confined to comparably low levels, thus keeping things 'simple' for the player.
