Pokémon AlteRed With a Gun version was our April Fool's '23 release, serving as a hard mode for AlteRed with a few exclusive Pokémon as a little bonus.
We're continuing to update Gun as well, just as an alternative way to play the game!

AlteRed is distributed in .IPS patch form, which you must patch onto a clean FireRed 1.0 ROM (which we can't provide for obvious reasons.)
I suggest using Lunar IPS, which is very straightforward to use, but if you need help, here is a good video on how to use it.

I'm probably late to the party but I was wondering, how do you evolve Mistdrevous? I have one that's level 60 and I can't get it to evolve, and none of the stones I have work.

If you're like me and include the new version number in the .gba file name, just remember to rename your .sav file to match.

According to the Completed Tag, I'm guessing Shiny rates have been returned to normal? Or will they still be higher than in regular Pokemon games?

For some reason when I try checking the dex entries the sprites are shiny but I also can't see the locations of any pokemon in the pokedex

How robust of a "post game" is there? In other words, after Elite four. I am about to do the Third gym. Loving this so far. I'm a bug type specialist and I love the bug and non bug type! They are so very diverse and I LOVE it.

What version are you on? The new version fixes the location glitch.

It's as "robust" as fire red's is, lol.

Strangely like this game. Stay healthy and see you in future if you decide to make another fire red romhack or original pokemon fangame or romhack with new region and story

Gun exclusive mons replace a few things like that due to limited rom space (binary hacking is funny like that).

This is an awesome game, absolutely loving it! One question, though—how does one evolve Mediklops to Epidemoir? The wiki says Moon Stone, but my stone doesn't work. I'm fine to be patient for a level up, just want to be sure I don't miss out on anything by waiting too long.

Every time I battle erica and kill her breeloom it freezes my game rendering me unable to continue. Havent found a way around it yet.
Edit: Fixed in the oddest way possible. Make it spawn on the right side instead of left and it works every time. Tested a few times to verify.
Edit 2: can no longer progress into lavender tower as it freezes every time i approach the steps with begone intruders message freezing it even though i have the scope I need to force the battle no matter which way I approach it
