Pokémon Comet

Plot.png

In an attempt to try and discover what could be the source of so many 'Fallen Pokémon' appearing, Professor Alani Coastal happened upon a potential answer in the form of the 'Alpha Pokémon', as no other deity could do such a thing. Perhaps its intent for the region was only the first? Behind the scenes, a conglomerate of people, simply known as Team Space have been spotted around the region, planning to take a hold of something primal in nature, something made to never be understood by human hands. So much in the region appears to be changing: new friends, dangers around every corner, and the mystery behind it all. What's exactly at stake here? The region? The world? Perhaps even something beyond that scope that not even you can understand. You as the player are not only going to be experiencing the new wonders of the Zyroh region, but are going to delve deep into the mysteries behind the scenes and what could this dastardly team want with such a being as strong as 'Arceus'.

Discover something new in Pokémon Comet!

(Some things are subject to change at final release, as well as the look of this page)

In no way do we receive any profit for this fangame or anything related to such. We are protected under fair use laws and do not intend to breach those.

I think I've completed what's available so far. Here's a little feedback from me:

#1, a lot of unavoidable and very large fields of tall grass to trudge through. This isn't unique to your game but it feels a little too excessive in the earlier areas. It gets a lot better after the first gym.

What I recommend is making unlockable shortcuts for the parts where the player is supposed to backtrack where after progressing through an area for the first time.

#2, thank you for TM Bulldoze not long after Drilbur can be caught. Having good moves in the early game is important for me in fangames and Drilbur is one of those Pokémon that gets put in a fangame's encounter tables but doesn't have access to any good moves. This also applies to Sandshrew and other physical ground-types that are usually stranded with Tackle or something similar as their best attack for a very long time.

There's a few other Pokémon that are made good or useless depending on move availability. My starter choice was ice Totodile and I'm very glad to not only get STAB with the favored attacking stat, but also after evolving.

I don't know deep the movepool changes for the Fallen Pokémon compared to the normal Pokémon, but the grass Sudowoodo I've also been using has been great. I haven't been using the other Fallen Pokémon since I've been carrying a team of six that rarely has problems.

#3, pacing between the start of the game versus gym 1 versus gym 2. I think it takes too long between the start and gym 1. I also think it's very quick going from gym 1 to gym 2. I don't know if you're open to changing any of that but it's a lot of grass to walk through and about the same 20 Pokémon in the encounter tables before gym 1, then maybe a couple routes later it's already time for gym 2.

#4, I like the tileset and BGM. The overworld item sprites are also nice.

I appreciate the feedback! I felt it only fair to share some of my thoughts over the points you had made!
  • 1. This definitely is my setback sometimes, but as you also stated, I've not consistently been doing so with every singe area. It's also the same way for the Routes/Areas that are to come.
  • 2. No problem! There will be 200 TM's available at some point throughout the game, so I've been trying to find the balance between certain moves being obtainable at certain times. Fallen Pokemon, in most cases, learn vaguely similar moves to their normal counterparts, albeit very few. They learn moves at the same level as the counterparts, with only a small amount being an exception. Most moves will be fitting for the concept and style of the Fallen Mon.
  • 3. While I definitely can understand how disheartening that can be for some, there is a reason for this. Simply put, Comet has a slightly higher difficulty curve, with the max end game level being 120. The amount of available Pokemon amongst those early areas, and amount of areas themselves, is to give the player enough options to not only add to their team, but make sure that struggling against this difficulty curve is at a minimum if possible. There is an exception between Gym 1 and Gym 2, as largely many other areas are unlike that.
  • 4. Tysm! I'm glad to hear that you like them!
Hopefully this answers some lingering thoughts you had and my response to some things!

I hope the game will have setting on game time, real time setting on game not really fair for people's who have little play time and people who only have time to play at certain time on a day not every player player can play during night and some can't play during morning
