Story: A region which has been divided and in conflict for over a decade, is now starting to see more peaceful times. The Pokémon League of the region had suspended operations, but is now reopening for you and new trainers to have a chance at becoming the next League Champion. All is not as peaceful as it may seem however, and the conflict which threw the region into turmoil is heating up once again. Travel through a Brand New Region, Discover Brand New Regional Variants, and start out with a new selection of starters! The Royals of the Region have aligned themselves with the factions and the region creeps ever closer and closer to all out war! Will you join a faction or remain neutral? Will you Become the Next League Champion or be pushed aside by your rivals? Will you change the Destiny of the Region? You will find the answer to those questions in, Pokémon Destiny. Factions of the Calypso Region:

The Royalists:
A faction made up of those who remained loyal to the King after the region's big split. Their leader is "Walt", but unlike the other two faction leaders, Walt still sits below King Calypso, who calls the shots from his Palace in the Grand Calypso Plateau. He is an honorable and honest man, however his arrogance can get the better of him sometimes.

The Unionists: A faction made up of those who wish to create a democratic union between all of the towns & cities of Calypso led by a council made up of elected officials from each town. Their leader is "Warner", who has no problem picking up the sword when it comes to defending his people!

The Separatists: A faction made up of those who wish for the towns and cities of Calypso to remain independent from one another and to self-govern themselves. Their leader "Vivian" is an absolute technical genius, who is able to pull the strings from behind the curtains like a puppet-master, manipulating the region's politics in her & her faction's favor.

FactionsRelicCastle.png

The Royals of the Calypso Region: Like gym leaders, you will need to defeat the Royals in battle to earn a scroll, the equivalent of a gym badge. Unlike gym leaders however, you will need to complete a quest for the Royal before being able to battle and obtain a scroll instead of doing a puzzle. You are to collect scrolls from royals, due to it being customary for calysian league trainers to provide service and assistance as appreciation for passage and hospitality. The scrolls are provided to you as proof of your service to each royal. Gym leaders do still exist in calypso as well so get ready for some tough battles and cunning puzzles!

Pokémon Destiny released January 6th, 2023! Download Pokémon Destiny!
Our game has been in development for two years. It started as a solo indie dev project, and after the first year, I realized with a small team, we could really bring this game to the next level! I’ve listed the planned features! Let me know what y’all think!

- Brand New Region
  • Brand New Adventure/Story
  • New Player Art
  • New Characters/Trainers & Art
  • Over 20 new regional variant Pokémon
  • All Gen 1-5 Pokémon (including mythical and legendaries) (#'s 1-649 in the National Dex)
  • Original Soundtrack
  • New selection of starters
  • Brand New Gameplay Mechanics
  • Return of Iconic Gameplay/Features Mechanics from previous games (Battle Frontier, Game Corner, Ruin Maniac and More!)
  • Toggle Exp All
  • Toggle Trainer Pokémon Level Scaling
  • Toggle Wild Pokémon Level
  • Day/Night cycle that affects encountered Pokémon, and many npc conversations.
  • Post Game Content

- All of these features and much more in Pokémon Destiny!

RelicCastlePic2.png

Obviously the game is going to be free! (Still figured I’d mention it)

Still not sure if I want to put a demo out there or not, as I’m not trying to reveal too much before release! I am trying to replicate that feeling back in the 90’s and early 2000’s when a game would come out as a finished product and everything was a complete shock/surprise because you had to either read about it in a game magazine and the access to information/information out there was significantly less than what it is today!

Hey @everyone ! Here is the Changelog/Updates for Pokémon Destiny! New update dropped today 🙂

*Update 1.0.1 - Released 1/09/23 - The "Snow" Update *

(Special thanks to Snow, a user who played through the game and discovered a vast majority of these bugs)

1. Fixed Aqualus Metropolis Wrong Warp when exiting one of the houses.
2. Fixed the "Move Along Bug"
In the Eastern Checkpoint, the East Brawnburg Guard would loop his dialogue to the player.
3. Fixed non responsive item balls throughout the game.
4. Roaming Legendary Switch Fixed.

Update 1.0.2 - Released 4/27/23

1. Added a Healing Location in the First Town, Tristone Town. Yiayia (Your Grandmother) will now heal your Pokémon when speaking to her!
2. Fixed the Dialogue for Royal 1 in Highrock Village.
The First Royal would Reference a non existing item (item was intended to be in the game, but was later scrapped) which led to player confusion.
3. Fixed the Titles for the Faction Leaders of Calypso.
Walt, Vivian, and Warner would appear in battle as "Walt Walt, Vivian Vivian, and Warner Warner". Fixed to now display "Royalist Leader Walt, Separatist Leader Vivian, and Unionist Leader Warner"
4.Fixed a bug in an endgame event.
Fixed the Neutral Ending Option. When choosing this ending, the player would end up battling Warner twice, instead of Warner & Vivian
5. Fixed Professor Oleander and Assistant Kaz Dialogues

Update 1.0.3 - Released 5/5/23 - The "Deven" Update

(Special thanks to Deven, a user who played through the game and discovered these bugs)

1. Fixed East Brawnburg Barrack's Wrong Warp
2. Fixed Aura's Forest Wrong Warp
3. Fixed Warp Location for West Brawnburg City when using HM "Fly".
4. Removed Alomomola from Route 8, Added to Grand Calypso Safari as a Fishing Rod Encounter.

If you haven't downloaded Pokémon Destiny yet, no need to worry about updating your game after installing!

If you already have Pokémon Destiny Downloaded, to update your game, simply download the .RAR file (You can use any of the links found on the Relic Castle Page or using the link in the #download channel of our Discord!), set up the game just like you did originally, and run the game! Once you do that, you may go ahead and delete the old Pokémon Destiny Folder!

Hey all!
Expect this thread to see a large update/edit in information after our next Nintendo Direct/Pokémon presents styled trailer drops in late November/early December! Until then, expect very minor to no changes! This work in progress page is merely a small glimpse of what’s to come, and development is wrapping up here in the next couple of months! Stay tuned!

This game looks really fun and interesting! I'm looking forward to trying it out - but I've just launched the game up for the first time, and discovered a pretty big issue..

The game download contains a save file with three gym badges and around 7-8 hours of gameplay, and a full team with some very strange moves. It's also in a softlocked area. Here's a picture of the save file and that area respectively.

I just play and I wondering why not many people playing this, it's not bad project certainly, maybe for me some important characters need more distinguished sprite in overworld and during battle

Hello! This may be due to save data from other roms you have played. (Likely pulling the Map ID & coordinates in the map from where you saved in a different rom)

Starting a new game should fix this issue! However, I am not sure what will happen to your previous save data (if it isn’t old save data from a game of yours, then no need to worry!)

Is there an area you can heal at in the first town?
Unfortunately, no.
I plan to change this in the next update however! (I tried to provide Oran berries to help you make it to the first town without needing to heal, but that was an oversight on my end)
Update: Healing Spot added, Yiayia (your grandmother) will now heal you when speaking to her.

Thank you for the review! Our team was very small, so in the art department it was a bit of a struggle for us to get all original art for all the characters! Maybe in a future update, if people are to send me some art I will add them to the game in place of the default ones! 😁

Feedback/query: 1st gym leader has an Aerodactyl with Stone Edge, Earthquake, Roost, Fire Blast, and a Life Orb. I thought about catching a weepingbell and putting it to sleep but it would always get outsped so you'd need to get lucky and have a stone edge or fire blast miss. You could use hippopotas and set the sand and then try and spam sand attack and bring in a mon with sand veil but that again feels like cheese/a luck-based strat. Not to mention the sand would make all the rock types stronger so would be a bit of a rod of your own making.

If you don't take the spheal as a starter you have no water types to deal with this. If you pick the aron, it is 4x weak to earthquake. And the larvitar is not making an impact until late game I would guess as it can barely hold its own on random encounters with base stats in the 300s.

I might be missing something but feels like you have to go turn the encounters scaling on, and then grind for a very long time to get past this if you don't have the spheal. Is there an encounter in the first few areas I missed? I looked for a decent amount of time. Maybe just have to restart and take the spheal and leave the grinding for others to try...just really wanted to see the Dark/Fire Tyranitar in all its glory, lol.

Let me know if I'm missing something obvious as this one really looks awesome with the factions and what not and I'd like to give it more of a chance. Apologies if this sounds harsh or like I'm complaining!

Where do we get a flashlight for Highrock Caverns? The miners in the Cave Rest only gave me an escape rope...

There is no flashlight, that was a dialogue oversight on my end. I was going to add one but later decided against it. Will be fixed in the coming update (dialogue will no longer mention flashlight)😁
Update: Dialogue Referring to the Flashlight has been removed!

Hey!
The reason gym 1 is difficult is because I programmed their teams competitively, minus EV spreads. If you do end up finding yourself underleveled, that is why I threw in the “Turbo Mode” which will run the game at a significantly faster speed, allowing you to harvest XP quickly 😁
Also depending on the time of day you are playing the encounters will change so maybe there are Pokémon at different times of the day that you haven’t encountered yet, which might be a big help for the first gym! (The 1st Gym Leaders are tired of being bullied by trainers, so in this region they teach you a lesson that you’re in for a difficult road ahead) 😂

Appreciate the response. Is there documentation on encounters for routes, or would you be willing to add the PBS file in future downloads? I completely understand if you don't want to share it, just figured I'd ask especially if encounters are different at different times of the day, etc. I like a difficult game, so just hoping get it past this first hurdle and then getting access to more mons to choose from will open the game up a bit.

I could just go back and get the spheal...is your regional variant of the Tyranitar line available outside of the starter choices, or is that the only way to get it? Cheers again for taking the time to respond!

Hey!

I plan on making a short guide for the game which will have the route encounters included!

As far as getting the other regional variants, I believe I made them unobtainable. (Has been a few months since I’ve worked on the project since its release)

Glad you’re giving my game a shot!

Hmmm strange. No other players seemed to have this bug when playing. (I’ve had multiple people beat the entire game at this point)

After receiving the quest from the 1st Royal, the path blocking the Cave entrance at highrock village should open up.

If you’re referring to transferring from the cave to route 2, that path is meant to be Blocked until you complete the royal quest.

Search the top floor of the cave (3F highrock caverns) for a Spot called Recluse’s Hideaway. From there just navigate through the hideaway to find an old man (who has smeargle).

What do you need a bike for? You don’t need the bike until beating the 8th gym to traverse across the cycle highway. (Bike is available after beating all gyms & royals at the bike shop. It is located on Route 9 North)

Gyms 6, 7, and 8 can be done in any order, so did you potentially skip gym 6 at the top of Frosttip Peak? (Can be navigated to using Burr Cave)
