Story: A region which has been divided and in conflict for over a decade, is now starting to see more peaceful times. The Pokémon League of the region had suspended operations, but is now reopening for you and new trainers to have a chance at becoming the next League Champion. All is not as peaceful as it may seem however, and the conflict which threw the region into turmoil is heating up once again. Travel through a Brand New Region, Discover Brand New Regional Variants, and start out with a new selection of starters! The Royals of the Region have aligned themselves with the factions and the region creeps ever closer and closer to all out war! Will you join a faction or remain neutral? Will you Become the Next League Champion or be pushed aside by your rivals? Will you change the Destiny of the Region? You will find the answer to those questions in, Pokémon Destiny. Factions of the Calypso Region:

The Royalists:
A faction made up of those who remained loyal to the King after the region's big split. Their leader is "Walt", but unlike the other two faction leaders, Walt still sits below King Calypso, who calls the shots from his Palace in the Grand Calypso Plateau. He is an honorable and honest man, however his arrogance can get the better of him sometimes.

The Unionists: A faction made up of those who wish to create a democratic union between all of the towns & cities of Calypso led by a council made up of elected officials from each town. Their leader is "Warner", who has no problem picking up the sword when it comes to defending his people!

The Separatists: A faction made up of those who wish for the towns and cities of Calypso to remain independent from one another and to self-govern themselves. Their leader "Vivian" is an absolute technical genius, who is able to pull the strings from behind the curtains like a puppet-master, manipulating the region's politics in her & her faction's favor.

FactionsRelicCastle.png

The Royals of the Calypso Region: Like gym leaders, you will need to defeat the Royals in battle to earn a scroll, the equivalent of a gym badge. Unlike gym leaders however, you will need to complete a quest for the Royal before being able to battle and obtain a scroll instead of doing a puzzle. You are to collect scrolls from royals, due to it being customary for calysian league trainers to provide service and assistance as appreciation for passage and hospitality. The scrolls are provided to you as proof of your service to each royal. Gym leaders do still exist in calypso as well so get ready for some tough battles and cunning puzzles!

Pokémon Destiny released January 6th, 2023! Download Pokémon Destiny!
Our game has been in development for two years. It started as a solo indie dev project, and after the first year, I realized with a small team, we could really bring this game to the next level! I’ve listed the planned features! Let me know what y’all think!

- Brand New Region
  • Brand New Adventure/Story
  • New Player Art
  • New Characters/Trainers & Art
  • Over 20 new regional variant Pokémon
  • All Gen 1-5 Pokémon (including mythical and legendaries) (#'s 1-649 in the National Dex)
  • Original Soundtrack
  • New selection of starters
  • Brand New Gameplay Mechanics
  • Return of Iconic Gameplay/Features Mechanics from previous games (Battle Frontier, Game Corner, Ruin Maniac and More!)
  • Toggle Exp All
  • Toggle Trainer Pokémon Level Scaling
  • Toggle Wild Pokémon Level
  • Day/Night cycle that affects encountered Pokémon, and many npc conversations.
  • Post Game Content

- All of these features and much more in Pokémon Destiny!

RelicCastlePic2.png

Obviously the game is going to be free! (Still figured I’d mention it)

Still not sure if I want to put a demo out there or not, as I’m not trying to reveal too much before release! I am trying to replicate that feeling back in the 90’s and early 2000’s when a game would come out as a finished product and everything was a complete shock/surprise because you had to either read about it in a game magazine and the access to information/information out there was significantly less than what it is today!

Hey there i found 2 bugs in East Brawnburg City :

The first one is if you get in the empty Barracks on the right top side you got stcuk inside you cant leave the building and get removed every time you need to restart the game if your stuck.
The 2nd ist the Arena if you put the boulder from the middle to the right button it doesnt work you really need to use the right boulder for the right middle for middle and so on.

Just saying to help ^^ its a nice game so far i hope my "denglish" ist not so bad because im german. :D

Hey Deven!

I was able to understand what you were saying perfectly!

Thank you for pointing out these out! I’ll be sure to fix the E. Brawnburg Barracks Bug in the next update.

For the second bug, that was actually how I programmed it. I was having trouble programming it to where any boulder, can activate any of the switches found in the gym puzzle. However, I was able to program its functionality to allow for the Left Boulder to activate the left switch, right boulder to activate the right switch, and middle boulder to activate the central switch. I do apologize for the confusion! I will try to ask around to see if there is a solution to this that I can implement in the next update as well!

Thanks Deven!

Looks like the next update will be named after you 😂 especially if you find any more bugs.

After taking a look, if you stick to the left side, you can return to route 6. If you try to exit Aura’s forest using the right side, it has a wrong warp (to a map no longer in the game). I’ve already fixed it & will post the updated version after you get through the game (since it seems you’ll probably find more, you’re a great tester!)

And again i found a bug im sorry XD
The Guard who ask for the scrolls ask you again and again if you have them if you walk in his path :D .
And i dont know if you wanted it but i found on land in the gras a Alomomola and not in the Water XD on Route 8 .
And i didnt find andy heartscales in the game yet can you only mine them ?
I really like the Battle against Samuel it was hard but i liked it and nice music ^-^
After beating the Elite 4 and beeing the Champ you cant enter The Pokemon Society in Dragonrush City
or do i need to beat the game like it said at the ship to Amelia Island and Archipelago ?
And i dont know if this is a bug or im very unlucky but the Articuno from Vivian every time ice beam hit every pokemon got frozen for 3-4 turns :D it was a bit exhausting XD
And 1 more (sry i found so many today) after choosing neutral and defeating the first 2 and fighting Vivian and defeating her i get every time the crash report :

Hey Deven!

The Guard asking for your badges and scrolls each time you walk past him is actually how I intended for it to be programmed. If it does seem to be a bit annoying, I may go back in an reprogram it to where he only will check the first time you have all 8 badges and scrolls.

The Route 8 alolomola was definitely not intended to be there so I’ll be sure to fix it in the next update 😂😆

As far as heartscales, if they aren’t in the battle market, department store, or drakonrush mall then you will only be able to mine them in highrock caverns using the “Ruin Manic Mining Minigame”

To get into the Pokémon Society, you have to beat the final sequence of the game (not the elite four & champion) by going to the king’s palace. Once you’ve finished that sequence you’ll be able to visit the Pokémon Society!

Seems that you ran into some really bad luck during that battle with Vivian (regarding the ice beam incident)

I read that you were able to progress through that bug which was causing the game to crash. I’ll try and figure out what the heck happened there. 😂

Thank you again for the help!

Just started the game.
One negative I can see right away for me is WHY AREN'T RUNNING SHOES AVAILABLE RIGHT NOW.
It just feels.... mildly infuriating. And disrespectful towards my time. Why do you make me almost crawl? You tell me to go out and explore, but at the same time have me move at a snail's pace so I hate the thought of taking one step off of the plot direction... which I also missed while skipping the lore dump.
Maybe it's just me who is that impatient, but... come on! What is the gameplay/lore reason to withhold RUNNING? Is this freaking 1st-3rd gen?

Sorry for such a rant or if it's particularly rude. Just felt the need to point this out as the prime material for a future update.

Other places for improvement: hello, empty boring pieces of road to the near the starting town. While I still don't have Running shoes.
Is there some technical problem which required being solved this way? If yes, I totally understand - programming is tricky sometimes.

Yeah you definitely skipped through the explanation of why you don’t have running shoes haha. It’s explained in the Lab when talking with Professor Oleander. You get them when getting to the second village after beating the Royal to be able to traverse Runners’s Route 3.

Also if you’re trying to give constructive criticism but then also have to apologize for being rude then you’re definitely doing it wrong.

These paths connect the starting area to remainder of the map. Just made it easier on me to design the map and have it connect in this fashion. It also prevented overlap when connecting the maps, as there are many towns in this game are rather large compared to typical Pokémon games.

If it’s really that big of a deal, then turn on fast forward (turbo) mode. That’s why I added it to the game. I’m not going to change the plot & mechanics of the story to better fit your preferences of play-style. (When I’ve already added turbo mode for people who are impatient)

I often don't have a clue if I have to apologize. I'm just born being bad at reading emotions even when I can see and hear other people - and a lot more when all I can go by are words on a screen. So I apologize if I have any suspition. Sorry for being a bother...

And turbo mode is ironically too fast for me >_< But good to hear that I'll get running shoes when I arrive into the town right after the first route, my patience can be enough for this. Thanks.

Just curious - have you tried tunnels with teleports? Or decorating those stretches of empty road with various stuff and making the grass less symmetrical?

If I were to use tunnels with teleports for every single route (or even those routes which you’ve pointed out) it would feel extremely repetitive & would interrupt the immersion/flow of the game.

As far as decorating, the options are quite Limited, especially for the sections you are referring to (only thing that could work would be flowers and berries, but the whole entire map can’t just have flowers and berries spread about, it’ll look extremely sloppy)

The maps were made & designed the way they are for the reasons I listed previously (Referring to Maps Overlapping) and I do not intend on making any changes to the map

I’m happy to have your feedback!

I have a huge pickle of this fangame. The one bug is that as soon you step into the pokecenter, it automatically heals your mons but if you faint it brings you to last time you used the pokecenter. And lastly the text tiles are not aligned with the move sets for learning new moves. I wanna enjoy the game and defeat the 1st gym, but you expect baby mons to defeat mons with an OP moveset. Normally I wouldnt complain and work around it, but a stone edge shouldnt kill a ground type, and a fire blastshouldnt ohko a water type. How you expect ppl to enjoy a game like this?

Again, all for constructive Criticism, but just because it doesn’t fit your style of play, doesn’t mean you have to bash it!

It sounds like the first gym did exactly what it was supposed to. Wasn’t meant to be an easy battle by any means. If you aren’t ready to battle against competitively built teams, you’re probably gonna struggle. (most Pokémon games don’t have this until post game. This game is meant to have a greater challenge than regular games)

would you mind showing the team you’re using to try and beat the first gym? Really curious to see their levels & what mons you’re using.

Also the bug you experienced, I will look into it. The auto heal when walking into the center shouldn’t have happened. You should always talk to Nurse Joy to heal your Pokémon as that is the event that sets your spawn point after fainting. (If you do happen to run into a bug like this in the future and want to set your spawn point to the PC you last used)

I have Spheal, Shroomish, n Sandile for 1st gym lv 18-20. I'm just stunned with Aerodactyl.

Yeah you’ll definitely want a full team of six, probably won’t need to have the other 3 you add at 18-20 but at least somewhat close. The Aerodactyl is the ace for the leader.

Here’s the strategy I used:
If you can get ahold of Shroomish on route 1 (night encounter), it will give you the ability to use leech seed to constantly allow for passive damage to happen each turn, then also stun spore. It’ll still require some finesse/strategy but it’s a lot easier if you’re making the Pokémon you’re battling slower than you w paralysis & also doing passive damage each turn through leech seed (which also gives you a little health boost)

I've been using that strategy. Does shroomish still evolve at 24? Any way of grinding with good levels.
