The story:

​

Winter is setting upon the Ceriama Region! The gyms are closing down for the season, and its high school trainers are gearing up for another season of the CRHS (Ceriama Regional High School) Challenge. Primum Town, a small town on the southwest coast of Ceriama, has a storied history of great trainers, but has not seen success in a number of years.

Much like Primum Town, you're down on your luck, bummed about missing another year of high school team tryouts due to not having a Pokemon of your own. But it IS your birthday today, and the first snow of the coming winter is here... Maybe something is different about today?

Pokemon: Winter Version has 10 playable chapters in its current state, the complete game + 1 DLC, with roughly 30-35 hours of gameplay included.

The Primum Town Pokemon team

Features:​

• 19 new regional Pokemon, and over 300 Pokemon from generations I, II, III, and IV.
• GTS trading! Trade with any other player online.
• FRLG menus and battle interfaces.
• Speed up script, press S to toggle game speeds (normal, fast, fastest).

Starters:

​

Each starter Pokemon - Ceriaman Mudkip, Chikorita, and Charmander - comes with a new, unique ability.

Toxic Coat (Mudkip) - Boosts defense when hit by a Poison-type move.
White Heat (Chikorita) - Powers up "not very effective" Fire-type moves.
Sea Scale (Charmander) - Ups resistance to Electric-type moves.

Huge news! I was able to get GTS trading back up and running, refer to the previous post if you want a stable build without it, but if you would like trading use this version.

If you are going to use GTS, make a backup of your save file before going in. If you are on PC, go to C:/users/{yourUser}/Saved Games/Pokemon_ Winter Version/Game.rxdata and copy that file to somewhere else. You can place it back in there if something goes wrong and you lose your Pokemon.

Version 1.01 will be released within the next few days. It will address a lot of small glitches that have been reported and duplicate TM's. More importantly wild Pokemon levels are being buffed across the board to make grinding easier. For almost every area in the game wild Pokemon levels will be brought closer to the trained Pokemon levels in the same areas.

Additionally, Ceriaman Koffing will finally be catchable with a 10% encounter rate in Red Cave.

Thank you all so much for playing, we just hit 2,000 downloads and 140 people in our Discord community! I never imagined Pokemon Winter would have this much success, it's been an awesome ride.

How do I Tell if A Pokemon In Battle is Shiny because i just Started and when i Entered Battle i Noticed that There was a Shiny Glitter and a Star Next to It Though no Sprite Color Change to Chikorita Then i wondered if it was just a Regional Form Thing But then I Watched a Vid on it and there Chikorita didnt have that and was slightly tanner so does this mean its shiny?

I think you have a shiny regional Chikorita, I just haven't actually made sprites for the shinies yet. You're the first person I've heard of actually having a shiny starter!

Excuse me. I'm playing your game and I'm wondering what level does Ceriaman Charmeleon evolve.

I've leveled my Ceriaman Charmeleon to level 36 which is the same level for Charmeleon to evolve and it didn't evolve. I was wondering if that was a glitch or not.

Charmeleon evolves into Ceriaman Charizard at level 40.

I think you have a shiny regional Chikorita, I just haven't actually made sprites for the shinies yet. You're the first person I've heard of actually having a shiny starter!

Oh Well Thanks Also if You Don't Already have a Idea for a Shiny for Meganium Have the Begining of the Flame On It Head / Neck aka the Orange be a Dark Red then Into a Lighter Red like its og Flower Design

The main difference with this version is the level of wild Pokemon. They have been buffed in nearly every location in the game to help out with grinding.

Yes, it's catchable in Red Cave in Chapter 4.

Take a look at the bushes he is looking at, and how they look like dice. Then, remember that he is looking at them from the OPPOSITE direction of the camera, so you need to reverse the order that you'd think you might need to enter them in.

Features:

New routes, towns, and dungeons.

• Access by going south from Route 13 at the beginning of Chapter 4. More content becomes available after Chapter 4 and after Chapter 6.
• There are two new superbosses at the end of Chapter 6 and the Epilogue, respectively. To find the postgame superboss, go to the gym in Tandem City.
• The new legendary dungeon can be accessed by finding all 10 ancient shrines scattered throughout Ceriama.

Shadow Trials.
- Floors 31 through 60 are now open with awesome prizes! If you have already completed 1-30, an elevator outside of the Shadow Trials will take you back to floor 30.

New regional forms.

• Pidgey has become Ice/Flying, and Pidgeot is Ice/Psychic
• There is a hidden new regional line that is part of The Excellent Exploration storyline.

Gen IV Pokemon added.
- Floatzel, Bronzong, Drapion, Drifblim, and Abomasnow are all available to catch.

Many bugs fixed.

Early game rare encounters buffed.

A few slight nerfs to early battles.

I really hope you guys enjoy this, it definitely wouldn't have been possible without the motivation from everyone here. Pokemon Winter has been way more successful than I ever could've imagined. For the best possible experience, I recommend starting a new game unless you haven't gotten to chapter 4 yet.
