Released Pokémon Spectrum

This project has a release available. The full version is still a work in progress.

Spectrum Wiki
Introduction:
Pokémon Spectrum is a fan game being made by myself with Essentials and some other resources. I've been working on this on/off in my spare time since February 2014.

Plot:
You are a person in a little known region, living in the small town of Lildune. However, an opportunity arises and you decide to go explore the region with all its native Pokemon that can't be found in other regions. There is an unknown world out there, with Gyms and Pokemon Trainers just like many other regions, along with myths and lore you must learn about for yourself. Can you catch them all, defeat them all, and rise to the top?

Demo Features:
  • 100+ fakemon
  • Spectrum forms of official Pokémon
  • 3 Gyms
  • New region
  • Animated sprites
  • Trainer customization
  • HM removal and misc QoL changes
  • Increased shiny rate

(Follow Instructions below first if you are using a previous version)
Updating instructions for people who want to keep their save file intact
Ver 1.3.x/1.4.x -> 1.3.x/1.4.x
Save in the middle of the Pokémon Center as shown in the screenshot for Ver 1.2 -> 1.3

Ver 1.2 -> 1.3
Before going to 1.3, do the following in 1.2 first and then save:
-If you are using an outfit other than the default (i.e. the one given from the woman in Sahara City) change it back to the default outfit first. (You can regain this outfit by talking to the woman again after moving to 1.3). This step is only necessary for 1.3.0. Ignore this if going to 1.3.1.
-Open the Pokédex and move the cursor to the first value in the Pokédex list (i.e. Kokoala). This step is only necessary for 1.3.0. Ignore this if going to 1.3.1.
-Make sure you save in this specific spot in a Pokemon Center to prevent passability issues with the map changes.
XAOsak9.png

Ver 1.1 -> 1.2
The first thing to do is to set all the options back to their default settings. Some options in 1.1 don't exist in 1.2, so having contradicting settings will cause an error if you don't change these back.
Second, make sure you save in this specific spot in a Pokemon Center before going to the new version. There are so many map changes everywhere that this is the easiest way to make sure you don't end up stuck when you load up the new version.

When you load up the new game from a Pokemon Center, you should end up here:

Refer to the man in the black clothes:
IEQyvea.png

That guy is Mr. Compatibility Man. I made him specifically to help solve changes I made between versions. Talk to him to initialize your following Pokémon. Kalahari Gym also gives out a new TM of a new move now, so if you're in Kalahari City, talk to him in the Pokémon Center to exchange your old TM for the new one. I made the event in way so it'll only work for players who beat the Gym before this release.

-Platsplash now learns a new move called "Mind Control." This does the same thing as Foul Play, except it's Psychic-type.

-Pajambaz also learns "Sheep Count" at level 45. This has the same effect and accuracy as Spore except it may affect Grass-types.
-Minore learns Rocky Terrain. Reduces HP of non Rock-type, non airborne Pokemon everywhere on the field by 1/16 and cuts their speed for 5 turns

Just started playing the game recently. There is an error where you can't move the cursor in the settings and tab menus. It definitely halts the progress.

By cursor do you mean the arrow keys to navigate through the menus? I can't reproduce this.

Are you talking about how it displays some moves as being learned at level 1? That's pretty standard for a Pokemon wiki to display-if it learns any moves upon evolution, it'll be shown as learned at evolution instead.

And is it really fair to complain about the difficulty based on the wiki? It's not part of the game, and Kojo wasn't the one who edited that page. You could have also looked at the pokemon.txt that kojo posted for clarification.

I'm not sure if this is a Spectrum thing, or an Essentials problem, but I swapped Pokemon against the first trainer in the gym and it used Copycat. Then my opponent went before my attack and it is an infinite loop of "The foe -Pokemon- used Copycat."
I'm sorry for the really really late reply, but it is a bug.
It's supposed to fail when your opponent out speed you by using Copycat.
I guess it's a bug that isn't really expected to happen since it's supposed to move second.
You're gonna need to close the application window.
That's the only way to get out of the bug currently.

Not complaining based on the wiki..
Konimbus can learn Thunderbolt and possibly Thunder at later levels.
I can't exactly remember what level it learns Thunderbolt but it does learn it.
Also, the wiki is far from completion, and is obviously not exact, so expect some imperfection.

Also, uhm, for whoever uses Thorniust and Maniakin in a battle, you game will crash when you try to send him out, so for players who have evolved their Thornie/Vuudu in their final stage, please do not use them. I know, sad. Since I also got a Thorniust and Maniakin at separate save files. ;-;

Also, ZeKojo, theres a glitch at the Gondologs at the Wet Zone. When you hop unto then while on a bike, and press the Up Arrow Key, it'll actually affect the speed of the Gondologs as if you were riding the bike, and when you get off them, it'll do the same for your character.

lmao, I actually kinda like the glitch for some reason. xD

Huh, Its incomplete? I thought I did everything (except for 2 TMs), so, uh, can you tell what is missing or incorrect?

I made a video on youtube a few month ago to explain how to solve that bug for Maniakin (for Thorniust its 851b thats missing). Unfortunately didn't get popular enough so posting the link here:

So i beat the second gym by spamming super potions sacking off my lower levels to keep my starter up.. beat the blind guy in the cave . Beat the ninja guy in the cave. Now i am at a loss where to go, So many different paths yet not sure where to go.
My Konimbus is 25 i am still wondering when it gets a decent electric attack.

Also, btw, I forgot to mention that it DOES learn Thunder, again, I don't clearly remember at what level it learns it, but it does.
I got my Konimbus to level 82, currently my highest level pokemon.

Level 50, everything is on the wiki. Also, why do you have a level 82 Konimbus? The game ends at about level 36, so there is no need whatsoever to train so high, not to mention it takes, what? A week? A month? To grind that high.

You should probably add more methods of acquiring Big Pearls. You will lock off the Dowsing Machine permanently if you sell the Big Pearl (like I did).

However, I just find out that the Pearls in Sandy Cove respawn if the player sells the Big Pearl at a shop. This is presumably done so that the player does not permanently lock off the Dowsing Machine if the player decides to sell the Big Pearl rather than exchange it for the Machine.
