Introduction:
Pokémon Spectrum is a fan game being made by myself with Essentials and some other resources. I've been working on this on/off in my spare time since February 2014.

Plot:
You are a person in a little known region, living in the small town of Lildune. However, an opportunity arises and you decide to go explore the region with all its native Pokemon that can't be found in other regions. There is an unknown world out there, with Gyms and Pokemon Trainers just like many other regions, along with myths and lore you must learn about for yourself. Can you catch them all, defeat them all, and rise to the top?

Updating instructions for people who want to keep their save file intact
Ver 1.3.x/1.4.x -> 1.3.x/1.4.x
Save in the middle of the Pokémon Center as shown in the screenshot for Ver 1.2 -> 1.3

Ver 1.2 -> 1.3
Before going to 1.3, do the following in 1.2 first and then save:
-If you are using an outfit other than the default (i.e. the one given from the woman in Sahara City) change it back to the default outfit first. (You can regain this outfit by talking to the woman again after moving to 1.3). This step is only necessary for 1.3.0. Ignore this if going to 1.3.1.
-Open the Pokédex and move the cursor to the first value in the Pokédex list (i.e. Kokoala). This step is only necessary for 1.3.0. Ignore this if going to 1.3.1.
-Make sure you save in this specific spot in a Pokemon Center to prevent passability issues with the map changes.

Ver 1.1 -> 1.2
The first thing to do is to set all the options back to their default settings. Some options in 1.1 don't exist in 1.2, so having contradicting settings will cause an error if you don't change these back.
Second, make sure you save in this specific spot in a Pokemon Center before going to the new version. There are so many map changes everywhere that this is the easiest way to make sure you don't end up stuck when you load up the new version.

That guy is Mr. Compatibility Man. I made him specifically to help solve changes I made between versions. Talk to him to initialize your following Pokémon. Kalahari Gym also gives out a new TM of a new move now, so if you're in Kalahari City, talk to him in the Pokémon Center to exchange your old TM for the new one. I made the event in way so it'll only work for players who beat the Gym before this release.

-Cocombat now learns a signature move called "Coconut Drop" at level 27. It's a physical Grass-type move that has a chance to confuse the opponent. Damage is based on the difference between the user and opponent's weight, similar to Heavy Slam.
-Wallopy learns a new move called "Fisticuff." It's a trapping move akin to Bind.
-Platsplash now learns a new move called "Mind Control." This does the same thing as Foul Play, except it's Psychic-type.
-Pajambaz now learns "Dreamtime" at level 23. This puts the user to sleep for two turns while raising its each of its stats by one stage.
-Pajambaz also learns "Sheep Count" at level 45. This has the same effect and accuracy as Spore except it may affect Grass-types.
-Minore learns Rocky Terrain. Reduces HP of non Rock-type, non airborne Pokemon everywhere on the field by 1/16 and cuts their speed for 5 turns
-Cut is now optionally available to use on any compatible Pokemon other than Aychem. You must get the TM separately from a new NPC hidden in a new area.
-Lowered encounter rate for cave areas
-Thunder Stone now obtainable from a NPC, making two new evolutions available (+ Jolteon)
-Drakeon is now in Gobi Village to get Pokemon Eggs
-Modified night time tinting for better visibility
-Updated music in every map along with most sound effects
-Updated the title screen and the intro leading up to it
-Updated the intro upon starting a new game
-Reduced the shiny rate slightly
-Reduced encounter rate of official Pokemon in wild battles and made them less frequent in Trainer battles.
-The game is now using essentials v16.1, so it comes with all of v16's standard features. Run toggle can be set in the options now rather than pressing the S key.

I gotta say fantastic work so far on all aspects, I really enjoyed playing this little demo and it has me craving to see much more. Keep it up dude.

I actually really enjoyed this game, though there was a very annoying game breaking bug that caused me to crash and it took me a bit to figure out what it was! (It also happened to my friend, who had forgot to save so he ended up giving up)

Anyways, we both had a Tumbli with gather holding an oran berry. (Not sure if it needs that) but if it had died and we opened the party screen with it KOed, it would cause a crash. It happened to me many times, it was the only pokemon we both had and we both experienced the same crash, so I'm fairly certain that it was causing it.

Other than that the game was really enjoyable, I even started helping out on the forum a bit today~

Found some issues related to moving from 1.2 -> 1.3 so I updated the instructions in the first post with the following:
Before going to 1.3, do the following in 1.2 first and then save:
-If you are using an outfit other than the default (i.e. the one given from the woman in Sahara City) change it back to the default outfit first. (You can regain this outfit by talking to the woman again after moving to 1.3)
-Open the Pokédex and move the cursor to the first value in the Pokédex list (i.e. Kokoala)
-Make sure you save in this specific spot in a Pokemon Center to prevent passability issues with the map changes.

Welp, I think I have myself stuck. It's quite far into the demo, but let's go over some things I found up until that point.
First off, let's go over the elephant in the room.

I freeze every time I walk on this tile. I can use the menu, but that's about all I can do. I didn't bother saving on this so I got out, but it's an issue.

My biggest issue now is I beat the admin next to the frozen mon, went to the sailor and went back to the city, but now he won't let me go back. He has the text saying yeah let's go, but then nothing happens.

The difficulty is nuts, btw. Having it on set really doesn't help. I have the dowsing machine, but do we get the exp share anytime soon? Cause I don't want to grind again like I had to do for the admin.

Thanks for the reports. All of these are fixed in the next version now, except for the bridge stuff, which I can't reproduce.

The EXP Share is available as soon as you reach Patagon City, if you know where to find it (several NPCs hint at its location).

The sailor is a bug, but you can get back to Sandy Town by going back through Sahara City and going west. And going back to Sandy Town in general isn't required to make progress after defeating the blue admin, since defeating him unblocks the North gate in Sahara City.

The game is enjoyable but I can't understand why it lags so badly.. is it because i am running a 32 bit game on a 64 bit OS or something? my pc is really good..

The lag is because of map connections I think. For some reason I found that the game lags far more after I have it compressed than when I'm working on it uncompressed and in debug mode. I'm considering just scrapping every map connection and just using ORAS style map transfers to reduce lag.

The event is probably because of a compatibility bug with the self switch between versions. I'll fix it.

I didn't care for the idea anymore since I'm now focusing on original designs. The Kangaskhan line, Druddigon line, and Solrock/Lunatone lines are also gone now unless I can think of good concepts for them later.

There isn't a whole lot I can say. Quite a lot of the jungle is just flat out obnoxious, to be frank. The Ammoflage poisoning all the time is just annoying unless you have a poison type in the party(since it doesn't get hit).
I have to admit I never did manage to find the 4th coconut in the dry zone, but I saw it past the statue so I'll be back to look through that eventually (not really a bug just reminding myself for later).
I think a lot of your Pokémon are way overpowered. Like Ninjask is way too fast and hard hitting. When a lv33 Pokémon can one shot stuff that's a little scary. Ariados is surprisingly bulky and I think that's the most balanced one so far.

Thanks for the bug reports. New version again. Fixed the Nimbian NPC, a bunch of tile errors, added a few more sprites, and fixed some other bugs I found myself. If there are any sprites still missing it's probably because the design is unfinished. Also I was able to replicate the bridge overlap bug, but it only happens when I have the screen size on 2x. On 1x the issue doesn't occur. So I'll need time to figure out how to fix it.

Well I have beaten the first gym.. they guy with the level 16? rybeak is ridiculous as my team are all lvl 12-13. Nothing gives much exp either in the grass and they get stupid critical luck as well . Money is super low .. Training up is a chore..

where to find the pokeflute? I'm currently stuck at Taldune b/c I can't get past the sleeping kid. as far as I know, I've looked anywhere and the game hasn't given any hints as to where i should go
