Welcome to the Urseca region
You start your journey as the child of The Pharaoh about to begin your Challenge to see if you have what it takes to lead the region. Every 40 years, the region holds a competition where they send out one youth from every town out to conquer the Gyms. The ones who defeat all 17 will be allowed to enter The Pyramid and face off against one another for a chance to face The Pharaoh and if they win, they will become the new unquestioned ruler for the next 40 years. Do you have what it takes to climb the Pyramid?
  • FULLY COMPLETED (unless you guys find some bug I didn't)
  • Gens 1-5 Pokémon
  • All Pokemon available to catch outside of events
  • Modern Moves
  • Legendaries are breedable but Arceus acts as a Ditto
  • Pokemon who evolve through trade and other non natural ways have level or stone evolutions
  • Some uneventful Pokemon have new evolutions into older Legendaries, ex: Dunsparce evolves into Azelf, Uxie or Mesprit with the right evo stone
  • Champion's team has Lvl 95-100 Pokemon

    Version 3.0 POSTGAME GOTHAM Underground Region

  • New tall grass colors all throughout the game. Brings an all-new lively feel and makes each route feel unique
  • 8 new badges, featuring 2 type gyms
  • Second entirely new Elite 4 and Champion (Very Difficult)
  • Levels now go up to 200, GOTHAM Champion has lvl 180
  • AFTER Lvl 100, ALL Pokemon will start to learn new moves at different levels, such as Precipice Blades, Behemoth Bash, Spore, Mystical Fire, etc. Different for every pokemon
  • EV Trainers in Underground will have teams meant to build EVs. Sits next to a 2nd Daycare Lady
  • Nurse Joys that are instantaneous have been added. "2 click heal"
  • Custom overworld sprites for ALL Underground characters made by me
  • Custom in battle sprites for ALL Underground trainers, some made by me, some made by 8BitAttorney, some made by an AI Generator
  • Follow the radios in Urseca to find ALL SHINY Legendary/Mythic Pokemon. There is one hidden cave for each Generation (1-5). (POSTGAME)
  • No flying in Underground Gotham but no routes. Wild Pokemon in every section
  • A room with all merchants in the game, made to make shopping easier in the Underground
  • Step counter for eggs found in Summary Page
  • Game Speed goes up to 3x for battles (SOOO MUCH BETTER)
  • ITEM Balls have been color coded by item type. EX: Red-Greatball, Yellow-Nugget, Blue-TM, Purple-IV Meds, Teal-Held Items (Leftovers), White-Potions, Black-Stones/Other

This game started being built to kill time during Covid lockdowns but eventually became something I loved to do and craved to finish. I hope you all enjoy everyone!
The ONLY thing I think I have left to do is to create a post game. This is going to take a lot of time because I have only just started to conceptualize the idea. I think it's going to end up being another large project. As my plan is to build a giant underground region under the main region. This will be where you find a villain team and face the strongest trainers and pokemon I can come up with. Until then, enjoy a game that took me 34 hours to beat while using rare candies instead of leveling. It's a marathon, not a sprint!

KNOWN ISSUES:
1. Talk to the Nurse Joy after getting your starter to set your faint location. Just realized the issue but I am waiting to see what else people find before I fix.
2. If you fuse your Kyurem, you will lose the item attached to the Pokémon you fused it with. Kyurem keeps its item. Nothing I can ever do about that. Unfusing returns the item.

    I have played through a few times and haven't found any new bugs. Please tell me if you find any!
    Should be 100% compatible with older versions of the game. HOWEVER, if you have already beat the Hall of Pharaohs, you will have to use the VS Seeker against them in order to unlock the Post Game or start a new file. Either way, the game feels totally visually renewed. It doesn't feel "stale" in certain places like it used to. I gave each Challenger a small monologue after you beat them in the Pyramid that tells you what they wanted to do when they won. They post-game also helps explain why the region hated your father, as well as the reasons he did what he did. If you still feel as though something is missing, please, let me know! This game has been my passion and I want to make it better in every way.

3.1 update brings two changes to the game. The small change is there is now an egg step counter in its summary page. The second upgrade is Challenges mode is now released, giving your game the ability to add customizable nuzlocke rules, a randomizer, monotype challenges, ect. This is activated immediately at the beginning of the game when you spawn into the map. Talk to the officer before you choose your starter and let the challenge begin! You will however need to have a fresh New Game in order to use these challenges correctly.

I don't expect many more updates in the future unless something either breaks or there is some incredible plugin that is released. THANK YOU ALL for playing! Be on the lookout for my next game "Pokemon Dark Knight" where I took the mini region from my Postgame, added a few more maps and built it into its own entire region with its own story. You won't play as Batman but him and his companions will find you throughout your journey. It should be released in the next week or two, depending on work and stuff. Goodbye everyone!
 
Patch 3.2 Brings a minor update to challenges mode, stopping most challenges from automatically turning on the "No Whiteout" challenge.

Just confirming, you downloaded the game from either here or the discord? This is a bug that appeared in older files. I replaced both here with my most current files just now to make sure this isn't an issue on my end.

Which file, singles or doubles?

I just downloaded a new version of the Delta Speed up and added it to the game, then started playing Pharaohs from a fresh file and it all seems to work. So if you download the new version and it still isn't working, please feel free to reach out. I'll keep this open in my browser for the next couple of hours.
 
POKEMON PHARAOHS 4.0 has just been released. There is a warning for all who download this game that have already played before.

WARNING DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS GAME unless you are ready to start your journey all over again. You can download and then still play from your old games file, but they will NOT work in this game. (I changed the internal game's name.)

This update will bring a fair amount of changes to the game. Most are small but the last will be the most important. So, let's begin with the list.

  • 1. The "Surf on Land" bug SHOULD be fixed in all areas of the game. This includes Yumrek Tunnel, Heraton Beach, Quayzara Archipelago, Abandoned Tigarani and the Bay of Steel. If you encounter any areas that still let you surf on land, please reach out and let me know so I can fix them.
  • 2. A duplicate TM in the Tigarani Gym has been replaced with TM30 Shadowball
  • 3. Some of the early game trainers have been slightly weakened to prevent early roadblocks that will over level you. Two are in Blightburg This includes the siblings upstairs where you fight the children. The other is Gambler blocking the National Forest. In Route 101, both the youngsters have been weakened as well. The Gym Leader was not touched because he is meant to smash you and make you clear the forest to come back and challenge him again, assuming this is a blind playthrough.
  • 4. The encounter rates have been lowered in pretty much every area of the game. I wanted you to have to buy a ton of repels during the game but that wasn't how everyone else felt.
  • 5. Pretty much every Post Game trainer in the Underground Region has been lowered by 10 levels. They were too high of level and I didn't realize how slow EXP would grow once you got past ~120. They are still very powerful, just nerfed a bit.
  • 6.Heraton has been given a minor facelift. Nothing crazy or new to do, just added a bit more to look at.
  • 7. I put an NPC in front of all Nuzlocke Warning areas to help show they're power.
  • 8. This is the large change to the game. BOTH Pharaohs "Normal" and "Hard" versions will no longer be supported. It had become too taxing to try to keep straight what had been fixed in which version. INSTEAD, there is now ONE SINGLE GAME FILE that will have both single and double battles throughout your journey. DO NOT install if you wish to keep playing your current playthrough. This is a hard thing to have to do to you guys and force a HARD RESET but there has been so many changes to the game but it has become necessary to keep the game upgrading over time. I am truly sorry if this ruins your experience in any way but it has to happen.

    As stated in the first message of this update note, you can still download this game to play all the upgrades and keep your old game folder but you will have to go into the older version to play your old save file. The game's file name should be different, so it should be easy to keep track of.

Patch 4.2 Brings a new set of items, called chocolates. These 6 kinds of chocolates will increase an IV by +1, leading to more opportunities to build that "perfect" team you always wanted. These chocolates are hidden throughout the game, one on every main map (Route 102, Blightburg, etc.) for a grand total of 60 chocolates hidden throughout the main game. The heart scale merchant on Yogrek Island will now sell them for 6900 PokeBucks.
