------Plot-----
Seven years after "Pokémon: Alpha Sapphire" events, Professor Birch recruited three new research assistants!
You will complete tasks, interact with nature, catch Pokémon, and make new friends!
However, during your adventure...you find something rare in Petalburg Woods...

Game length: 5 hours split into 6 mini-episodes

- Version 1.1 12/08/21:
Fixed a bug in Petalburg woods for episode 5 where the player cannot progress.
Fixed a bug where one particular stair soft locks you in Granite Cave.

- Version 1.2 12/08/21:
Fixed a bug to prevent a player from leaving the lab when they're not supposed to.
Fixed a map connection.

- Version 1.3 14/08/21 (Episode 5 is broken):
Reduced some lag in Petalburg Woods.
A certain cutscene now erases properly after a switch.
Fixed a Pelipper encounter on Mt. Pyre.
You can now go back to a certain island after visiting it.
Slakoth's heart emote during petting should erase properly now.
Fixed a map connection.

- Version 1.4 15/08/21 (Episode 5 is broken):
Fixed some tile and passability errors.
Fixed some typos.
Events above water should have reflections now.
Fixed running animation positions.
Two events should show up after a certain cutscene, not before.
Fixed the Slakoth softlock issue in Petalburg Woods.
Reduced the number of overworld encounters to reduce lag.

Actually fixed the Petalburg Woods issue in Episode 5 this time.
Fixed some typos.

Tall grass now have bush tags!

Lowered player portrait in trainer card.

Raised some trainer levels by one or two.

The game notifies the player that final evolutions are at level 32, not 30.

-----Thoughts-----
This is my second Pokémon fangame, and I am very happy with it. Compared to "The Rising Sun" (my first game, also set in Hoenn), Littleroot Researchers has better graphics, story, characterization and gameplay. I spent way too much time on this game, and I'm pretty burnt out. However, I really pushed myself this time to create something special. I created fogs for the first time and also two music pieces for the game (Intro + Petalburg Woods).
I hope you enjoy it! No more four-hour jam games from me, and definitely no more Hoenn games. 😅

Just played through the prologue.
My main sentiment can be put into one word: ADORABLE. Looks like I'm binge playing tonight ^_^. No bugs so far too (except the type), and I always love me some static encounters.
Will write more details once I've played trough the whole game.

I really liked to play this game from the beginning to the very end. The characters are polished, have their own personality. The story is interesting and as it unfolded I found myself more and more ineterested in it. The music is really spot on. There is a good variation of Pokémons to caught.
I highly recommend this game to everyone! :)

When trying to play the game this screen pops up everytime I use essentials version 19. Any help would be nice.

Hey there! Try this:

Q: Why are there green lines/glitches on my screen?
A: 1) Open the Start Menu and search for Settings. Open Settings
2) Now click on "System". In the left pane, select "Display", then scroll to the bottom in the right pane. Click on "Graphics Settings"
3) Under the "Choose an app to set preference" drop-down menu, select "Desktop App". Once selected, browse for the Game.exe in the Littleroot Researchers folder.
4) You will now be able to see the application in the Graphics Settings. Click on "Options"
5) You will now see the "Graphics Preference" window, from where you can set which GPU to be used for the Game.exe. First, try selecting "Power Saving", then select "Save", then run the game. If the issue persists then select "High Performance", then select "Save", then run the game again.

Got this from Pokémon Bushido's FAQ, let me know if it works or not!

Holy crap it worked! Thank you so much. Now I can finally update my game to version 19 and play this one.

Can the trainer that rematches me on Route 101 in Episode 2 give a warning? I did not heal before and my last save is before the Trevor battle :(
It's really not a big deal, though. This game is too adorable )

Are there any TMs? I got a Huge Power azumarill and its only physical move is Rollout.
