FAQ:

Q: Where do I go after __? Where do I find ? How do I evolve _? etc.
A: Play the game. If you explore enough and interact with things enough, you will naturally find the answers to your questions. We are not here to hold your hand, because you should not need your hand held. So try to refrain from asking questions like that unless you have exhausted all your other options.

I designed this game to reward your curiosity and promote discovery. Just play the game.

Q:What emulator do I use? Can this be played on Mac?
A: None, this can only be played on a Windows operating system. After extracting the download, open the game folder, then open the Game.exe (little galaxy pokeball icon). It runs by itself.

Q: Are there Mega Evolutions? Nuzlocke mode? Following Pokemon?
A: No.

Q: What are the shiny odds?
A: ~1/3000, and nothing is shiny locked.

Q: What about ability capsules or nature mints?
A: Also no. But there is a nature changer in Hazeport. There's also an ability changer in the post-game.

Q: How rare are Hidden Abilities?
A: There is a 1/200 chance of a wild encounter having it, but roaming overworld encounters are far more likely to have them. The chance increases as you collect badges, as well.

Q: How do I update my game?
A: Your save is located in a different location, so you can just delete the old versions folder, then download and extract the new one.

Q:Where is my save file?
A: C:\Users[User Name]\Saved Games\Pokémon Infinity
Q: How long/ how many badges are there?
A: 5 badges and a four person tournament. Then, if you make the right decision, there is post-game content. Average play time has been ~20 hours, ~30-40 with post-game.

Q: Where is Astral Stone and Miracle Seed?
A: Searidge Town, after you get Cut

Q: How do I make the game full screen?
A: You can't. There are 3 window size options in the game that you can access from the options menu, full screen is unfortunately not one of them.

Q: When do you get the Exp. Share?
A: You get the Exp. Router shortly after the first badge.

Q: What Pokemon are all in this game?
A: 1st through 6th gen, and 100+ new fakemon. Here's the dex, beware spoilers. https://p-infinity.fandom.com/wiki/Pokédex

Q: Can I use __ for my own project?
A: Consider everything private, but if you want to use something, I'm open to discuss it. I can be pretty open with tiles and other resources, but some stuff I want to keep private for Infinity. So just contact me if there's something you want to use, I may be more generous than you'd expect.

Q: Is there a speed-up button?
A: Yes, use Ctrl to cycle through 3 speed options (normal/fast/faster) Use with caution, speed up functions may cause unexpected gameplay issues.

Q: Are the key layouts customizable?
A: No, but I would just use an app called JoyToKey, it allows you to set up custom configurations for any apps/controllers. https://joytokey.net/en/

Q: Is there a wiki?
A: It is very new and in development, any help with filling it out would be appreciated.

Q: Can I play this on my phone?
A: There is an app called JoiPlay that is able to play on Android phones with minimal issues.

Been playing for a little while and finally got myself a Gourgeist. Her move, trick-or-treat, says it makes the opposing Pokémon a ghost-type. Well every time I've used the move and then used a subsequent ghost-type move on a Normal type the ghost move does nothing. Is the trick-or-treat move bugged or is there a way to fix this?
It adds the Ghost type, it’s not like Soak.
You made the Pokemon Normal/Ghost, so it’s still immune to Ghost, but it’s now also weak to Dark and immune to Normal and Fighting.

The game has been kinda lagging in some places. For the most part I've ignored it, but in bigger towns and cities it's really noticeable. Any ideas for how I can fix this?

Are you using integrated graphics pc or laptop?

This was good and I liked the aesthetics. I didn't get past the first double battle when I picked Squirtle. Eventually I had to quit due to crashes and nausea.

Liked:
Announcing Hidden Abilities
NightForm Pokemon
Shaking Trees (addicting)
Trainer Difficulty
Autopickup of Hidden Items
Bulbasaur Cactus Form

Dislike:
Font didn't match well with the environment.
Screen felt like it was shaking. I have motion sickness and it was too much.

Game is crashing very frequently, even though we're not far into the game at all. Anyone know of possible causes? We are speeding up the game to make progression quicker which is usually fine on other Pokémon Essential based games, but will try without doing that just in case.

Edit: Still crashes without speeding up, albeit it appears less so. At one point the game just closed itself for no appparent reason but I'm willing to accept the possibility that this could have been user error.

I finally finished playing this game and I gotta say this is an interesting one!

Starting with my favorite thing, the environments in this game are amazing. A lot of attention to detail to every corner is very noticeable, at first I didn’t really understood why the map was that compact, but when I saw how much care went into every city, route and house it felt totally worth it.

I love all the flavor text over the furniture and other things, fan games often does not include this feature at all, but Infinity not only has it, but also expands a lot! I’m not joking when I say some of the most fun I had in Pokémon Infinity was entering every single house to read all the different text put there. I always got weirdly excited every time I saw a new city just to check the dumb jokes.

I am also 100% sure Thorn is delighted with all my fun memories of entering peoples house to stare at their trash (the fridge text are consistently good too!).

I get the feeling you went for a more lively world with different weather, NPCs changing and everything, but I do think some of the systems went overboard. I hate how much the encounter table changes. I happened to run into an interesting Pokémon once and then never again multiple times and although there was files/books in game to read the encounters, they were very inconvenient and often didn’t meant much. It’s hard to know exactly what Fakemon you are going to find just by the name.

Talking about the Fakemon… they are amazing! Even though I took a long time to construct my team, I am very satisfied with it. Not only that but I often saw trainers using cool Fakemon and thought to myself: “Oh wow, I wish I could use nine Pokémon instead of six”.

Also, I wish I saw more of them in the wild, a lot of cool mons I didn’t encountered once. Overall, I feel there is too much Pokémon in this game. It is even more noticeable with how small the full map is.

My final team of champions ended up with those guys, my favorite thing in this game is easily the cactus Bulbasaur, I would hug it if it wasn’t a fictional friend and probably painful to do so, but the other ones are great too!
Sem_titulo.png

A couple bugs I found was NPCs appearing on my face >insert easy SV joke here< or NPCs/Trash changing forms in my sight. Nothing game breaking, but does take you out of the experience and It happened to me a couple times.

Pop up guy.png

"This guy appeared out of nowhere!"
The game’s plot is something. I think it’s probably fine for people more interested in the subject, but for me I kinda just “”absorbed”” all that was happening. Because of the nature of those kind of narratives you are overly suspicious of anything remotely close to you, so I had a pretty good idea of where the plot was going very early on. But I can say I didn’t expected the classic RMXP style at the end. Did I like it? No. It was funny? A lot.

For the late part of the plot I got that pretty similar feeling of watching a post-revolutionary piece of media where the guys tries their absolute best to convey actual great ideas in the same way that first revolutionary show did, but without properly understanding how that weirdness worked so well.

But I think the real weirdest part of Infinity must be the game design. It’s not awful or anything, but it does have a lot of silly stuff that drained my will to play the game near the end.

Although I said the maps are beautiful, It gets old fast how the items are distributed in a way that makes you redo your runs through the same fields 3+ times for things that are more often than not, not worth it. It reminds me a lot of when older games uses those classic padding strategies to make the experience feels longer than it needs and once you realizes those small redoes starts to get on your nerves.

I had the pathetic view of using Smack Down on my Pokémon against 3 legendary Pokémon when I probably had better choices scattered somewhere, but I didn’t bother to get because I thought exploring was more annoying than it was rewarding.

The leaders are ok. Most of the time I got them in either first try, or had to do a second battle because I missed an 80/90% accuracy move, which is just how Pokémon goes sometimes. (I would love more accurate moves that doesn’t suck on my learnsets, thought)

Those final battles though… I appreciate the idea of an epic battle against legendary Pokémon, but it was just not well executed. Alongside Dialga and Palkia I had Pokémon I never saw before dancing on me and punishing me for focusing on the strong over leveled legendaries and/or not knowing how that new Fakemon work because I never saw them on the wild and neither other trainers had it.

It makes me think how Pokémon Vega had a similar boss fight, except their levels were below what you was expected to be at that point and the boss only had Dialga and Palkia. This was also one of the fell cool moments in the game! When your game is more unforgiving than an infamous hack like Pokémon Vega, you know something went wrong.

You don’t have to get rid of the idea of a complete team before the legendary battle too, the Grunt character is basically just a glorified punching bag. I would be perfectly fine if they had the same Pokémon Yu had, - Dialga and Palkia, similar to what the already mentioned Vega did.

And if that wasn’t enough, I almost got stuck at the final battle because when I lost, I came back to that same destroyed lab instead of being able to go back to grind/rebuild my team (I saved at that spot like I usually do before a boss fight). If I didn’t had 2 Ambushers, tons of good priority moves and a Spore user, I think I would just abandon this otherwise cool game and never touch it again.

Also, it’s probably my bad PC’s falt, but this game randomly stopped responding a couple times and it was especially bad at the snowy area.

All in all, this game has some annoying issues here and there, but I genuinely had a lot of fun exploring the cities, seeing all the awesome Pokémon, new moves and just endlessly appreciating how freaking cool the UI and the overall spritework were. I would recommend this to patient people willing to build their own actual strong teams to go against the random spikes.

How do you get Missing No.? I found this on a wiki page but is is vague.

"While the Safari Ticket is in use, if the player first travels to Haytide Cape and speaks to the old man with his Golduck, the Missing No. event will be triggered."

That part is pretty straightforward, but this next part...

"The event takes place in Hazeport City Dock and wild encounters in the water may have a chance of a Missing No. If the player visits anywhere besides Haytide Cape in the first place, the Missing No. event cannot be triggered then, however."

What? "in the first place"? What is that supposed to mean? You can't just fly to Haytide Cape? And does that mean if you visit anywhere else, that you can NEVER trigger it?

My suggestion is to join the discord because i think it will be faster to ask there
