FAQ:

Q: Where do I go after __? Where do I find ? How do I evolve _? etc.
A: Play the game. If you explore enough and interact with things enough, you will naturally find the answers to your questions. We are not here to hold your hand, because you should not need your hand held. So try to refrain from asking questions like that unless you have exhausted all your other options.

I designed this game to reward your curiosity and promote discovery. Just play the game.


Q:What emulator do I use? Can this be played on Mac?
A: None, this can only be played on a Windows operating system. After extracting the download, open the game folder, then open the Game.exe (little galaxy pokeball icon). It runs by itself.

Q: Are there Mega Evolutions? Nuzlocke mode? Following Pokemon?
A: No.

Q: What are the shiny odds?
A: ~1/3000, and nothing is shiny locked.

Q: What about ability capsules or nature mints?
A: Also no. But there is a nature changer in Hazeport. There's also an ability changer in the post-game.

Q: How rare are Hidden Abilities?
A: There is a 1/200 chance of a wild encounter having it, but roaming overworld encounters are far more likely to have them. The chance increases as you collect badges, as well.

Q: How do I update my game?
A: Your save is located in a different location, so you can just delete the old versions folder, then download and extract the new one.

Q:Where is my save file?
A: C:\Users[User Name]\Saved Games\Pokémon Infinity
Q: How long/ how many badges are there?
A: 5 badges and a four person tournament. Then, if you make the right decision, there is post-game content. Average play time has been ~20 hours, ~30-40 with post-game.

Q: Where is Astral Stone and Miracle Seed?
A: Searidge Town, after you get Cut

Q: How do I make the game full screen?
A: You can't. There are 3 window size options in the game that you can access from the options menu, full screen is unfortunately not one of them.

Q: When do you get the Exp. Share?
A: You get the Exp. Router shortly after the first badge.

Q: What Pokemon are all in this game?

Q: Can I use __ for my own project?
A: Consider everything private, but if you want to use something, I'm open to discuss it. I can be pretty open with tiles and other resources, but some stuff I want to keep private for Infinity. So just contact me if there's something you want to use, I may be more generous than you'd expect.

Q: Is there a speed-up button?
A: Yes, use Ctrl to cycle through 3 speed options (normal/fast/faster) Use with caution, speed up functions may cause unexpected gameplay issues.


Q: Are the key layouts customizable?
A: No, but I would just use an app called JoyToKey, it allows you to set up custom configurations for any apps/controllers. https://joytokey.net/en/

A: It is very new and in development, any help with filling it out would be appreciated.

Q: Can I play this on my phone?
A: There is an app called JoiPlay that is able to play on Android phones with minimal issues.

Oh boy! The game sure worth every moment xD The good thing is now I can watch my favorite Pokemon Youtuber doing his playthrough of your game! This game needs to be more popular lol

I just finished the demo and hooooooo boy, it's wonderful! It's not hard but it's not stupidly easy either. I like how many items and tms we get - I guess, it's because we are on a small island after all.
The chests! The loot chests, oh my god, I was literally screaming of joy when I found the first one. It felt like... I dunno? Zelda? DnD-like? You explore and you get what you deserve. I also liked how complex some of the routes and caves are, and at the same time they are relatively small and PACKED with stuff and pokes.

Pokemon. I absolutely adore the fact that we don't need to "climb up" our way to the top - first we usually get bugs, early birds, maybe some normal types - here, oh here we can have ANYTHING (practically) early on, you just need to find them. New persian evolution was my powerhouse for the whole game, Gorochu followed shortly. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to find myself a feebas, even with the help of "encounters" document (is it THAT rare or what?), but I grabbed a new shellder evolution and he was amazing.
All in all, amazing demo, I really want to play a full version of it!

When I read through the "Encounters" document, I saw that Feebas is under the "SUPER ROD" part, so I believe you will need Super Bait (or whatever it's called in the game lol) to get him? I haven't tried to catch one myself, but you can even get a Dratini with the same type of bait.

@Darkrye I'm not exactly sure what you mean, does this have to do with the cursor or your selection of options?I'm not sure what would cause the cursor to do this.

@Tavs3153 That sounds like a very odd issue. Sometimes a script can hang, or the game can lag for a bit, but it usually corrects itself, especially after closing. You can try to reinstall the game, your save file is stored somewhere else, so you won't lose any progress. Simply delete the current download, and redownload it.

so i tried redownloading and im still having the same problem when i try to go into my bag or try to switch pokemon or change the settings the cursor will drop down to the bottom where cancel is if i try to hold up it will try to go up but it keeps dropping down i can send a screen shot of what im talking about.

I made this account only to ask this question which only has a single vague answer here. I have checked every path i could find in this game and have found no Cut anywhere. Please PLEASE give a proper answer as to where Cut is. I've been having fun with this game so far but this roadblock is starting to frustrate me in a way wanting to make me quit. I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm starting to miss the hand holding from the current official games ;-;

um, I have make an apology ^^; where a hour ago when I made this comment I had thought I had explored everywhere that could be explored without cut in the Genesis Forest and thought the only two exits to the next area was stuck behind the trees. Turns out I was wrong, I ended up watching a playthrough on YouTube to see what I was missing and I found it. Again I am sorry for my previous comment. I plan to keep playing this game now with utmost joy :3

Just finished the demo and man, that was a blast! The UI and graphics are great, the story is interesting, and the Fakemon look fantastic! The routes are diverse and offer a wide range of Pokemon, so you can definitely have a balanced team.

It was mentioned in a previous comment, but it would be nice to have the rival a little more involved and pop up a bit more frequently, even if it's just for a bit of dialogue. Also, I agree with your reply that the Fakemon should be rare/something to discover, but I love the idea of giving hints (ie the guy who mentions giving a Fire Stone to a Raichu). I spoiled myself by looking at the docs, but that was the only way I discovered Darpole, Kokiseed, etc. I think even if you just put someone in the route saying they were looking for the rare Pokemon _____, that would be super helpful.

Thank you for making such a great game and I look forward to continuing on in the future!

@Eevee27 It looks like you may be trying to run it on an emulator? It is a standalone game that primarily only runs on Windows. I have seen a 3rd party app called Joiplay (youtube it) that allows you to play on android phones with few issues.

@katamuri The download is the entire project unencrypted. Check the ReadMe file that's included to see what's public.

@Darkrye I actually think I know what you're talking about. I feel like I've actually had the same issue before, but it wasn't permanent. I believe this is an issue that several people have had with different fan games. I'm not sure what causes it or what would fix it, sorry. Keyboard issue perhaps? Computer issue? Sorry I can't be more helpful.

@Jpalma That would require remaking the entire game from the ground up, since they're vastly different engines/programs. Sorry, not gonna happen.

@ParkE I believe you can set up a controller with RPG Maker XP games (like this one) using other apps. I've done it in the past and used joy2con I think.

Every reply post I've been making this week, I've wanted to include some sort of update or screenshot... but any time I got some shots compiled I thought "I'd rather them just experience this on their own". So I don't think I'll be showing off anything substantial until the final release. I've made some more fakemon, but want those to be a surprise. Obviously want the story to be a surprise, and the new areas would also be nice if you got to experience them fresh. So I'm going to continue holding off on sharing progress, in an attempt to give you an exciting experience. (If there's something specific you'd like to see that I don't think would ruin the experience, let me know!)

I will say I took about a week or two off of development after releasing the final update in May. But since then, I have been working diligently on a variety of things. I'd say the outdoor locations (think world map) are 90% done. Interiors and dungeons/caves still have to be done, but having the rest of the "world map" finished is obviously a big step in completion. After all maps have been done, it'll be the eventing stage. I'll fill in the maps with characters and happenings, and continue trying to add more evolutions/variants/fakemon etc. Then I have to add some post game content, so that obviously adds a tad more to development. So my point is I guess, progress is going relatively well and steady, but don't expect the final to come out any time soon.

For the most part I am happy with the current build (1.6.1). There are a few typos and minor glitches/errors, but overall I think it turned out well. Only thing I don't like is that I don't feel you get a taste for the plot very well. Right now you have a vague idea of where the story is going, I hope to revamp the story part in the final so that there's more story driven content through out. This means that your save will not be able to be carried over. So if you played this demo, and were hoping to carry on, sorry. Silver lining is there is a big variety of pokemon, and there will be more in the final, so you can build a whole new unique team!

Anyway, thought I'd give some sort of verbal update, so there it is.

Amazing game even if it's just a demo, really encourages exploration with all the random things you can find like items and money.
Only issue I have with the game so far is the background scenery seems to always bug out when I am outside any buildings, always stuck at the top left corner of the game. Not sure how I did it but it's been like that after arriving to Merchant's Ridge from Moon Stone Path.

Click the word Download that is in orange, it will then pull up a google drive that you will then download. Then once the zipfile has downloaded just extract it to where you'd like to easily access the game.

The game was working very well for me yesterday but now the script is taking too long to load, the transitions into the next area are lagging a little and the night sky has turned into a small box. Otherwise it's a beautiful game and I really enjoy what you've done with the pokemon!

I skipped battling a hiker on Hayfield Plateau by using Fly, which took me to the end of the road even though I have never been there before.
I do not know when you first unlock the ability to Fly to Hayfield Plateau, so maybe you can skip the whole area.
I do not know if it is also doable in other areas with a Fly location.

Hi! I love the look of this game and I couldn't wait to try it, so I downloaded it. I installed the fonts by opening them and clicking install, launched the game and said that the fonts weren't located in my system. Then, I checked the fonts section on my Control Panel and I did see the fonts installed. Just to be sure, I copied every font in the fonts folder of the game and pasted them in the fonts section of Control Panel, it said they were already installed and I just replaced them. Then, I open the game and it still gives me the message of me not having the fonts installed. I even restarted my PC and I still have the same issue. How can I fix this?:_(

@KP17 The sky turning into a box thing is actually something that can be fixed, I explain how a few posts above yours. As for the lag and script taking too long, that sounds like a hardware issue. RMXP games can experience some lag and screen tearing, but if the computer is decent it shouldn't be too noticable. Make sure any unneccesary programs are closed, and if it's a laptop, that it's plugged in.

@crispybagon If you access the PBS folder in the download, and then Pokemon.txt, you can see how all of them work.

@Marshadow123 There is one pokemon (and 2 bonus gift pokemon for the very dedicated players) that is forced to be shiny, but otherwise the rest are not locked. Shiny hunting is a go.

@Aprogergely I have been aware of this issue since before release, and just had hoped no one would stumble upon it. Figured if they did, they aren't technically missing anything that's necessary, and they'll backtrack if they want. I'll see if I can remedy this in the future.

@Westblade I think I've seen an issue in the past where it will say the fonts need installing even if they're intalled. I believe it played just fine. Do the fonts show up correctly when you play? It could just be a bug that repeats itself on the fonts even if they work. Try installing them as an admin. If you want to send me a screenshot of some text in game,or post it here, that may help.
