--Okay now I KNOW what you're thinking. You're probably thinking "Derx, this isn't Faith & Prayer Version! What're you doing!" Except, you probably aren't thinking that because I'm new here, and there's no thread for Faith & Prayer Version here! Well, forget what you don't know about Faith & Prayer Version for now, we're discussing something else! We're talking about a small project I made (and finished! Wowie!) back during October called Touhou Puppet Play ~ The Mansion of Mystery. The game was built for the Pokecommunity Game Jam, "Blinded By The Fight" back in October, where you had to follow a specific theme to enter - the theme being utilizing the Dewford Gym darkness circle mechanic. When I saw the theme, I knew instantly what I should make (Though I spent a few days during early development cementing ideas). As such, the game is extremely short - roughly 2 to 4 hours, maybe longer depending on factors. It revolves around a group of four from the human village and their expedition to uncover the truth behind “the mysterious mansion that has music coming from it”. The writing of the game is about as close to your average Touhou plot as I could get, and the way the game is handled is also similar: Six core stages, one Extra stage that gets accessible only if you can Perfect Run (1cc/no blacking out) the entire game. The difficulty is a bit rough, especially if you’re unfamiliar with the 1.8 Type Chart, but it is beatable without grinding, and in one shot. The game also has a slightly modified EXP system, where you get x1.25% exp (5/4ths) for beating a Puppet, just to make up for how short the game is, and how quickly the levels ramp up as a whole. It's balanced around battling every trainer, so take that into consideration! Honestly, making this game was extremely fun! The deadline let me keep myself in check, and I needed fresh blood to work on to try and get me back in the swing of development. I’m glad I made it and took part in the game jam! So far I’ve heard good feedback about it (even one of the judges said it was a close race for first between mine and first place!), and I know I put in a lot of effort to make the game as good as I possibly could! It is my hope that you all who download and play it can enjoy it just as much, if not more, as I enjoyed making it! Granted I took second out of three, but it was an extremely close second according to the judge. Made Using RPG Maker XP & Pokémon Essentials The Power We Hold takes a different approach on the invention of the Pokéball. Pokémon: Return to Tentin follows the events of Pokémon: Adventure in Tentin. The story takes place four years after the Pokémon: Adventure in Tentin. The story The player, having just moved to Slate Town from their previous home region, is a beginning Pokémon Trainer, wanting to follow their father's footsteps. Return to the Tentin region with new areas, new characters, new TMs, a new plot and evil team, and less linearity to the region! More to see in-game, so jump right in! New features There are new TMs only available in the Tentin region, and due to this, Pokémon can learn these new TMs. Some Pokémon have been re-typed. Pokemon Astra Adventures Introduction: Pokemon Astra Adventures is a fan game created by myself using Pokemon Essentials & RPG Maker XP. I wanted to create a game which was set after the events of RBY & GSC which would tell a different story in the Kanto region. While I know that this idea has been attempted before I hope that the new story is enough for people to want to try the game out. As I have already created a fan games, I decided to use the sprites/characters just to save time. This may change a little later in development. Plot: As a youngster of Pallet Town you are now called upon by professor Oak to help him with his new Pokedex project. As the years have gone by Kanto has updated and the Pokemon from the region have found new powerful evolutions and new discoveries have found previously unknown baby forms. Oak wants to collect data on all the evolutionary lines from the Kanto region and has tasked you and two other trainers from Pallet to venture across the region and find them all. While on your journey battle against the Gyms of Kanto and prove yourself as a worthy Pokemon Trainer and follow in the footsteps of the legendary trainers of Pallet town. Kanto has been at peace for several years but a new evil has surfaced which threatens the region. Will you stand by and let the people and Pokemon of Kanto suffer? I made this short game for the Pokecommunity game jam last October and thought I'd share it around here. It was made in less the month so it's far from perfect though I've made a few small updates, fixing a few bugs and making gameplay a little less frustrating. So, the plot! It's a very simple premise where you play as an amnesiac trainer who recently lost their memory in an accident involving some psychic Pokémon. Therefore you have to enter some large caves to seek out Uxie, the legendary Pokémon of knowledge and memory. Your town is located nearby the caves but the caves themselves are large and hard to navigate. Can you make it through the caves and get back your memory? Features: -A cave full of light-the-torch puzzles -No antagonists,, just obstacles to overcome and some angry spirits -Game takes place in a single large area rather than the typical journey. Latest Download Link: here. The game is a few hours long and it is currently complete though there may still be some bugs and things that I missed. I did this project by myself and I'm uncertain about a fair few things. I worry that the difficulty is too tough and that gameplay isn't varied enough and that progression might not feel rewarding enough, yet I'm also uncertain as to how to go about improving it. That aside, the one part am I confident in is the puzzles, I definitely prioritised them over a really strong plot (you might notice I introduce a lot of characters at the beginning of the game but they have a very limited impact afterwards) and they work, even if ultimately they are still quite simple. While the game is nominally complete, I'm not entirely satisfied with it so I might as some point update it with new content if I can ever figure out what I want to change. Edit: Updated the game a bit with some updated overworlds, which are now all RSE style. Protagonists are now Brendan/May instead .

Story: You and your friend, Carla, have won a trip to sail on the ship "S.S Jammica". Its destination is the vast Jamward Ocean, where another great ship was attacked only one year ago by, allegedly, the World's Biggest Gyarados. Excited to see, and potentially capture, the massive Pokémon, you and your friend board the ship. When you find the Pokémon, however, the ship is attacked and wrecked, and you are stranded on Jamward Island. Now you must explore the island in search of the other passengers, and hopefully, find a way off the island. Some have had their evolution level lowered, like Slugma, while others now interact with items in different ways, like Happiny, who doesn't need it, or Duosion, who now does. There are no evolutions that need trades, specific locations, or moves learned to evolve. The Dream Capsule by Rot8er ConeX item has two bugs that I was unable to resolve. First, if the Pokémon does not have a separate DW ability, then it crashes the game. Any Pokémon with Levitate, the Koffing and Duskull lines, and all Legendaries, do not have DW abilities. Second, it does not display the Pokémon's DW ability before the item is used, instead displaying its current ability. As there is no way to reverse giving a Pokémon its DW ability in the game, I recommend saving before using the item. There is a speed up function! Just press 'v' to cycle through the speed up stages. After game jamming for a solid month and posting an endless stream of images about it on Twitter, here I am! You wake up in a Pokémon Center in the middle of a hurricane and can't remember a thing classic amnesia trope is overused, you say? go away. You pick your starter and run around the completely, undeniably and 100% fictitious region of New Jersey trying to piece together what happened before you zonked out (if you don't get it there's an NPC who beats you over with the head with everything at the end). Oh, and Team Aqua is bumbling around, and they don't seem to like you very much. - Default Pokémon Essentials graphics set (with only a few minor changes) - Decent amount of map verticality - Weather wars - Five to seven-ish hours of gameplay, depending on how fast you can read, how much you feel like exploring and how good you are at Pokémon - There are a couple Pokémon Gyms but none of the leaders are home - Zany Super Mario font on the title(s) - Seventy, eighty, I forget exactly how many Pokémon - Jokes at the expense of Delaware - Trainers level with you it was easier than balancing it myself okay? - Choose your difficulty (sort of) - Questionable decisions by the protagonist - Lots and lots of piano midi - Two endings (sort of)(please don't just restart if you lose a battle)(especially the second-to-last one) - Some other things You'll have to forgive the jpegginess, I forgot to save screenshots while I was playtesting so these are (some of) what I posted on Twitter. I'm pretty sure I got rid of all of the game breaking things, most of these are purely aesthetic. Aesthetical. Whatever. Also listing some potential turn-offs that aren't strictly logical errors. - Some of the maps don't have proper borders. Mainly due to the fact that I didn't pay attention to this until it was too late, and sort of burnt out when I went back to fix this. - There's a major plot point near the end but if you talk to most of the NPCs afterwards they won't seem to notice that it happened. - I think I got rid of all of the stub NPC dialogue or items in the game but there may still be one or two here or there (if you find it, you'll know). - Some of the routes may seem a bit barren and there may be some things that appear to be there for no reason. Those are probably there because I originally had plans for something else but, again, burnt out (technically there's still time for this since I'm submitting ahead of the deadline but honestly I don't even want to look at RPG Maker anymore). - The Delaware jokes get old after a while. - Will try to fix any major problems that come up but, again, I'm pretty done with RPG Maker for a good long while. Game (1.0.2) Windows only. Unzip, double click and pray that it works. Still paranoid that y'all are going to click the executable and all hell is going to immediately break loose. Speaking of which, it occurs to me that I should probably have some sort of changelog so people can know if their specific issues have been fixed yet.
