Pokémon Samba ReBirth is a revitalized take on the original Pokémon Samba fangame, bringing a fresh coat of polish to the "Brazil inspired Pokémon game". Revisit the vibrant Samba Region as you embark once more on a journey to collect 8 badges and challenge Champion Armstrong — now with enhanced visuals, updated mechanics, and a host of new features that elevate the experience while staying true to the spirit of the original.

iB4eEYj.png

Many legends still echo throughout the Samba Region — tales of a chimera that watches over the Evergreen Jungle, or magical faes that are said to have been blessed by Arceus itself. These stories, passed down through generations, serve to guide the hearts of the goodwilled citizens and warn those who stray from the path.

Though folklore plays a key role in shaping the region's identity, the people of Samba also rely on the strength and protection of the 8 Gym Leaders — powerful trainers elected by the people, tasked with safeguarding the region and challenging trainers who dare take on Samba's Pokémon League Challenge.

Your journey begins at a special date — it's your 16th birthday, and with it comes the opportunity to become a Licensed Pokémon Trainer. Joined by your childhood friends, Marco and Clara, you'll travel across the Samba Region to take on the Gym Leaders, meet new friends and foes, earn your place in the annual Pokémon League Tournament, and perhaps even challenge Champion Armstrong himself for the title.

But not all is as peaceful as it seems. The shadow of Team Gold looms over the region. These shady profiteers seem to be plotting to dominate the Samba region by disrupting the sacred Hidden Masters. What is their true plan — and can you stop them before they reshape the future of Samba forever?

fjlBjJb.png

The Samba region returns in this remake as a vibrant, diverse land, filled with deserts, mountains, jungles, and more — each home to unique Pokémon. Its cities are just as varied, from the academic hub of Solanum to the battle-hardened Nanuza. With a growing mix of people and cultures from around the world, Samba has evolved into a rich, multicultural region, with 158 new Pokémon to be found.

Pokémon Samba Rebirth (0.1.1) - Patch Notes

Balance Changes
Hidden Masters
  • Hidden Masters now have set Moves, Abilities and Held Items. These are slightly different in Hard Mode.
  • The Levels of Hidden Masters have been tweaked. In general, they've been buffed.
  • The HP of Hidden Masters has been vastly increased, but their Speed and attacking stats have been decreased. They will now act as a true battle of attrition.
  • Hidden Masters are now shiny locked.

Gym Leaders
- All Gym Leaders (Normal and Hard Mode) have had their Pokémon slightly rebalanced, mostly receiving Nerfs. On Hard Mode, Gym Leaders have been heavily rebalanced to have movesets and held items that are easier to deal with, and only their ace Pokémon will be at the Level Cap.

Pokémon
- Some Movesets have been improved and/or rebalanced. Moves have been added to some Pokémon, while others got the Levels where they learned certain Moves slightly changed.
Examples:
  • Wardew/Lizarmour/Aegilisk now learn Iron Head instead of Metal Claw, Ancient Power instead of Mean Look, and will now learn Iron Tail naturally.
  • Gustongue/Sommelangue now learn Double Hit instead of DoubleSlap, Slam instead of Take Down.
  • Grodumon/Bidumon/Airdumon now learn Mirror Shot and Air Cutter naturally.
  • Tatail now learns Ember after Poison Sting, making so that Tatail caught in Solanum will usually have a STAB Move.
  • Mareep/Rampere now learn Spark at Level 12, making so that Mareep caught in Route 04 will usually have a STAB Move.

  • Mystery Gift now exists! To unlock it, you just have to talk to a Pokémon Center Nurse (Players that are starting a new game will have it unlocked by default). After unlocking the Mystery Gift function, just load the game again, and on the File selection screen, you will see an option to retrieve your Mystery Gift. Have fun!
  • EXP. Candies had their prices changed. Their prices are now 1.5x that of the experience they grant; in general, they became cheaper, and will therefore make Exp. management more affordable and understandable.
  • Roucheria's Gym Challenge has been changed. The Wild Pokémon were removed, the visible area around the Player is now bigger, and there are now dust devils that the Player must avoid while looking for the real Ravi. Also, sound effects will play whenever the Player gets the answer wrong or right during the test.
  • A bunch of flavor text has been added to the game. Most things inside of NPC's houses are now interactable, with some new quirky events being spread out throughout the region.

  • Mart UI has been updated to match the rest of the game's graphics.
  • In Roucheria's Gym Challenge, the real Ravi had the wrong sprite assigned to it. This has now been fixed.
  • Kinpassan's following and icon sprites have been added.
  • Pixie Plate's Sprite has been added.
  • Static Shiny Pokémon Sprites have been added, so if you're looking at your shiny Pokémon through the PC or in the Mystery Gift screen, they'll correctly appear as shiny.

Bug Fixes
  • A common bug related to the screen shake during the Hidden Master's cutscene has been (mostly) fixed. In case the bug triggers, talking to a Nurse in a Pokémon Center should fix the constant screen shake afterwards. A way to avoid this bug is to not change speed-up settings during cutscenes.
  • Fixed the destination when the Player uses the Move Teleport.
  • Some collisions were fixed.
  • The guard NPC at Roucheria's Museum should now talk to the Player, even after moving to the side.
  • Not a bug, but a lot of typos and oddities related to the dialogue were fixed. Oops! Huge thanks to IceCreamSandWitch over the Discord server for pointing out these errors!

I love the fire starter, he's the cutest in the world!!! This game is so colorfull, i love seeing all the details and references to Brazil in the cities and little houses.
I'm really loving this demo!!

the discord invite link is dead

100 characters needed what i, pq ainda to falando ingles ninguem vai ler isso mesmo é so pra enxer espaço pq quero o link do discord funcionando pra eu entrar

Just wanted to know, are the back sprites useing the front sprites normal?

now here some extras text cause i need to have 100 characters

Yup! Being a one person team, I've had to cut a lot of corners when it came to spriting and animation, and therefore there's only front-facing sprites for the Pokémon.

Should be fixed now! Thank you for pointing it out.

Capyboo and Capybaron are soooooo cute =D
Also love the typings, some really good combinations there ^^

I just finished playing this demo. I loved how this game is based on brazil and the story. I really can't wait to find out more about team gold, backgrounds of our two childhood rivals, and character developments.. Can't wait for the day when this game gets completed! Thank you herovolty and Pokehax for introducing me to another game for my watch list. 🥰

Thank you everyone for the support on the game! The reception has been amazing!

The game has been updated to version 0.1.1! You can play this patch by simply downloading the new version from the link in the original post.
A bunch of bugs have been corrected, and a lot of balance changes were made to make the experience more enjoyable! This is not a content patch, and therefore, the game is still a 3 Gym Demo. However, a Mystery Gift has been added to the game, so players who have done everything in the Demo will have a reason to go back and claim their gift!
