Pokemon fan game trouble

I recently was trying to play the pokemon fan game The Last Nurse Joy. I followed the guide and downloaded The Unarchiver and expanded the file. I though all i have to do was click game.exe but that did not work. I had previously tried this with another fan game called pokemon this gym of mine but i could not get that to play either. The discords were no help and i was left unread. I posted this to reddit and someone informed me that .exe only works on windows and i am on a mac. All solutions are welcome.

I have Mgba and visualboyadvance emulators if that is any help.

and clicked on the google sheets link, and found the file. I used The Unarchiver to extract it and was left with this

 
I would recommend downloading it from our forums directly rather than from an archive on Reddit.

I see that you're using a Mac too. To run windows apps, like these fangames, you need a program like Wine to run them.
(Neither The Last Nurse Joy nor This Gym of Mine need an emulator, since they were made with RPG Maker XP and thus aren't a romhack, but a standalone .exe)
 
i downloaded wine and got the last nurse joy file from your link. When i click on the game.exe file and clicked open with wine, it just brings up a text window taking about wine. I re downloaded the file after installing wine but it still did not work.
 
i dont know much about wine but i use windows so its fine
