About
Re-experience Kanto in an all new light! Pokémon RBGenesis aims to recreate the feeling of playing Pokémon Red and Blue on your Gameboy for the first time. Using the colorful art style of the Gen 2 GSC games; Pokémon from gens 1-8, And all new events and characters, Kanto will feel nostalgic and fresh at the same time! RBG ups the expected difficulty of the Kanto region to bring a new challenge to returning players. Search the region for new wild Pokémon encounters based on the Day/Night cycle, or for the various Mega Stones and battle items scattered across the region! Discover all new areas, such as the River Valley, Deep Forest, or Mt. Moon Summit! Become the Champion of the Kanto region in a brand new way, and explore all new mysteries!

Discord Server: https://discord.gg/j7fjQ6CBke

Pokemon RBGenesis has it's last official release, and I'm opening it up to the community to keep expanding it! RBG+ Is unfortunately, not a finished update like I had originally wanted. Due to changes in my personal life, I don't have any time to be able to work on the project like I used to. So I wanted to share the little bit that I had gotten to to at least get it out to the public. It includes a lot of fixes for issues you guys were having, as well as a lot of really fun new things to explore! The game is still complete from start to finish, it's really just the post game areas that were too ambitious for me to finalize.

However, if you like the project, and have access to RPG Maker XP, you're more than welcome to carry on the project from where I left off! I will open up some more Discord threads for project discussion and will be there to answer any questions you might have. Let's work together to create the ultimate Kanto experience we can!

RBG+ is still compatible with your old save, but I recommend backing up your old save and starting a new game, so you don't miss any of the new events or cause any unintentional soft locks. All the saved game information is stored in the save file "Game. rxdata", in the folder "C:\Users\ USERNAME \AppData\Roaming\ Pokemon RBGenesis ". Simply moving the save file to a folder will store it and the game will make a new save upon loading.

I hope you guys can forgive me for having to abandon the game, and I hope you enjoy the new update!

Did we need HM to proceed in the game or the HM function in the map already replaced by key item?

this is because his Seviper uses Glare
Hmm, I will definitely look into this one for sure, Thank you!
EDIT
I removed the line of code that gives the error in the script, and the animations seem to play out fine now without it. Glare isn't crashing when its gone. I'll keep testing other animations to see if anything goes wrong with it gone, and I'll include the fix in the next update I'm working on.

Its the HM system like in the originals. The move counter in the Pokécenters allows for move deletion and move relearning for free if you don't want to keep the HM move on your Pokémon longer than needed. Trees that get cut down also stay permanently removed as well to make things a little easier.

No Pokémon are shiny locked! The odds have been increased to about a 1/1024 chance, and there are certain gift Pokémon that are given to the player as a shiny if they meet certain secret conditions first! The shiny charm is also available to increase the odds even more.
Shiny Pokémon are very welcome in the game! I know not many people would shiny hunt a fan game, but I made it a fun thing to do for those that want it.

The game download has been updated to v1.1! A changelog has been added to the first post explaining the new changes. All save files should have no troubles with the new version. Enjoy!

It seems like when replacing moves you can't see the type of the moves. I'm not sure if this is intended or if I'm missing something, but it'd be nice to be able to see the type of the move when you're replacing them

I actually agree with you on this. Its part of the UI design that came with the GSC kit its running on. I haven't really done any major UI edits, but I might take a look to see if it might be something I can manage.

The move counter in the PokeCenter lets you relearn any old moves for free at least. So you won't have to feel like you're missing out on anything!

I I've found a solution to a lot of the errors people are getting in battles. It can be caused by not having your graphics driver not updated to handle the OpenGL limits of the game.

People have had success in updating their graphics driver and the animations will work again. If it still doesn't work after that, turning off the battle animations in the options can get past the errors for any battle that gives you trouble.

This Rom Hack looks way too cool, thank you for all your hard work! Is there a file or document that we can view to see the changes made? Very interested in the type changes as I see Sudowoodo is now Rock/Grass in one of the screenshots and I want to know what others I can look out for!

I can probably put one together. As far as type changes I'm not sure I changed more than Sudowoodo. I did change more abilities and some stats for a few Pokémon, so I'll try and remember the ones I changed.
