So, finished the game and I have to say it is a great start.
  • Feels a lot like Legends: Arceus did a really good job replicating the feeling
  • The story is still engaging with the two doggos
  • The style of the game in the Gen 4 Style was really beautiful
  • Actually was super fun to throw Pokeballs, didn't know how well that would transfer at first but it was fun
  • Looking forward to seeing more of the story
  • Regional Forms were so cool, I love Breloom so seeing a new variant of one is awesome

  • When you return back to the castle, if you enter you get locked into the Prologue again
  • Francisca fights herself at the end
  • The final fight with the player's sibling can be skipping by going south which ends the game, I unfortunately got stuck there and couldn't do much else.

Thank you for playing the game! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm gonna be fixing all of these bugs that were found in just a bit and releasing 0.0.2.

I really enjoyed the game!
I did encounter two weird bugs though.
This one's mostly harmless, but when I caught a Carkol, four Carkols appeared in my PC. Not sure what's up with that.

In addition, twice only I got a weird error message that I can't reproduce about the stack size going too deep in overworld encounters that caused a crash- it was both times the first spawn of the map.
Either way, this is really promising! It's quite fun!
Is there a way to open a quest log, or is that not in the game?
One other question-
Is Rillaboom even obtainable in this version? If so, where?
This is really impressive, and kudos to you for doing it!

Yeah, no quest log, and
Rillaboom is found as a Grookey in Glimwood Tangle, then you need to evolve it, it's worth it tho!

How long is the game currently?
It's about 45 minutes just playing and 2 hours if you actually spend time exploring and interacting with everything to get flavor text and complete everything available in-game atm.

Heyo! I just played the game, figured I'd share my thoughts while they're still fresh on the mind:

Firstly, I didn't expect overworld catching to be so engaging in an RMXP fangame, but it was really fun! I ended up spending a lot more time than I thought I would just going around and trying to overworld-catch as many Pokémon as I could. I think the spacing rules for it were very neat, and I wonder if different ranges for different pokeballs could help flesh out that mechanic as well. One thing I would have liked is that if I failed to capture an overworld pokemon, I'd get another shot--in the end, it was a lot of fun.

The new Pokémon are neat! I'm sure I haven't seen 'em all, but the Breloom and Scraggy were really fun to use, and forgive me for peeking into the files to see some of the others...they're really cool! (I really like the Druddigon)

Definitely curious to see where the story goes from here, I'm still trying to figure out time-period wise where we are in relation to Hisui (my gut says this is prior, more medieval as opposed to ~1500s). Always a fan of different origin stories coming about. I liked the side-quests too, they definitely helped me to explore.

One "bug" i'd mention, I caught a Galarian Ponyta, but its moveset was kantonian--it had ember and fire spin, etc. But it learned Psybeam at level 25, so I'm not sure exactly what was going on.

Either way, I enjoyed the game, there were lots of really cool, impressive, and innovative things incorporated, and I am looking forward to the next acts! Great job--also the self inserts at the end (both in-house and direct to camera) were very funny.

Thank you so much for playing, I'm glad to hear you liked it! As for time period-wise... it's really confusing for me as well haha. technically speaking, the Darkest Day is supposed to, canonically, take place 3000 years before Sw/Sh, buuuuuut... It is also supposed to be medieval lol, so my explanation is... Sw/Sh def take place in the future I guess haha! We know that in other regions people already train/tame Pokemon in PLA, so idk lol, really hard to truly decide haha.

Just finished the game and loved it, the art was fantastic, the story was well written and when the demo ended I was sad... I wanted to continue the journey. I will definitely look out for updates so that the journey can continue. So far this is the best game I have played from the current game jam. Well done. It certainly deserves a spotlight spot this season.
