Released Pokemon Golden Crown

This project has a release available. The full version is still a work in progress.
Project Status
Released
Project Version
1.0.9
ETA Next Version
Jan 1, 2024
Pokemon Golden Crown is my first attempt to make my own Pokemon Game. Based on Pokemon Essentials v.18.1 first, now working with 19.1 version, with some map graphics of Pokemon Essentials B/W v3.1.1 and more. The story is set 100 years after a Pokemon-Human war that ended in destroying the whole world. After 100 years, there is a peace again between Pokemon and people, who try to rebuild the world. The story starts in new Kanto region, with different towns, hologramlike rebuild gym leaders and some known artists, like Ariana Grande, Axl Rose, Britney Spears, Harry Styles and more. The story also mixes some nods to the popculture, like Money Heist, The Vampire Diaries or American Horror Story.

The work is in progress and as for now with these regions being playable: Kanto, Johto, Orange Islands, Hoenn, Sevii Islands, Sinnoh, Unova, Decolore Islands, Kalos and Alola, Galar and Hisui.

Story

Travel through rebuilt regions that has never been seen like that before. Choose your starter (Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle), who will start following you, and traverse the region with some visible encounters and face different trainers, including recurring rivals: Ash, Gary, May, Team Rocket and more. Collect 52 badges, 4 kahunas, clear 8 island trials and try to beat all the trainers in Indigo Plateau (Kanto) to become the master (if a loss happens, you won't get another chance to face others), Silver Plateau (Johto), Emerald Plateau (Hoenn), Platinum Plateau (Sinnoh), Unovan Plateau (Unova), Kalosian Pokemon League in Cerise City (Kalos), Alolan Pokemon League on Hakka Island (Alola) and Galarian Pokemon League in Centar City (Galar). You can also challange Battle Frontiers on Sevii Islands region and Sinnoh. Prof. Sycamore on Declare Islands gives you Mega Ring. After that, you can travel across all first six main regions to obtain mega stones & red/blue orb. In Alola, you can collect all of the Z-Crystals and also catch some Totem Pokemon! Galar implements dynamaxing, gigantamaxing and eternmmaxing features and max raid dens! In Hisui, you can challange some noble Pokemon. Also, by starting your journey in Hisui, you will be able to meet Alpha Pokemon in the wild, which have their own alpha mark (just like shinies have). They are stronger and have perfect ivs. When you defeat Galar League, prof. Cerise in Ginnic City (Kanto) will have some tasks for you... visiting extra parts of Galar, journeying to Hisui and eventually he will help you enter Pokemon World Coronation Series. More info below.

What's next?

Paldea, of course. Yet, there are some things that I need to reconsider. I've reached the limit of 999 maps in this project, so when Paldea comes out, it will be the same game with the same save file, yet you will run it via a different file.
There comes another problem. There is no resource for SV gimmick (terastallization) for Essentials v 19.1. I am not good at scripting so there is no chance I could implement the gimmick here, unless I will update it all to v20.1. But, the tricky thing is:
1. It will break your current save files.
2. All maps from Kanto to Hisui will have to be checked again, some battles changed - a lot of work. It will take time and I can't tell how much time I will be able to give this project this year.
3. EBDX, which I use, is not available for Essentials v 20.1 so graphics will also change (Pokemon, trainers..).
Eventually Paldea will come out. I can't just tell yet what it will look like.

I just forget to remove his event from the map

will be added in the next version
Thanks so much downloading new version right now.

FYI love the game! This is one of the greatest fan made games I have played in long time. Love the concept of going region to region. It makes trying to collect them all less overwhelming. And I love the encounter checker. And all the rivals. And did I mention everything. LOL

Hi! I have some doubts... The first one is: Where can I find kabuto and omanyte's fossils? And why the guy at the laboratory doesn't let me revive aerodactyl?
The second one is more simple I guess: Where can I get lickitung? 😂😅

PD: I'm really loving the game so far!

if it comes to kabuto and omanyte fossils, they are thrown over the Kanto region, so you need to talk to some hiker-NPCs, who will give you ones. If it comes to reviving, I don't know why it doesn't want to work... I copy-pasted everything from the original source and it should work...
Lickitung in Kanto can be met in the safari zone
And thanks!

Unless you're talking to the wrong scientist... The first one you can meet will battle you and when you talk to him again, he will give you old amber. That's when you can go to the other one, whose function is to revive
If that doesn't work, 'll have to find another solution

v 1.0.9. is now available with reported things fixed!
Thank so much for the update to Daycare husband in Johto. Finally got my Pichu egg. Except when it is about to hatch the game crashes for some reason. Have also tried it with a Jynx I left at the daycare after the husband was added to the game.

Not sure what else was fixed.

Still having problems with fossil restore. It lets me old amber, but won't restore it. So I can confirm having the same issue.

Game corner now lets me buy coins. But when I go to exchange them with any of the three people it crashes.

And Hisui Event guy in Ginnic is gone.

Okay, so the problem seems probably to be with the codes that may have been changed by adding some plug-ins to the game. In later regions, you can meet Baby Pokemon like Pichu etc. in the wild, when it comes to Fossil mons - they can be met in Ancient City, Johto, near Alpha Mountains. As you beat gyms in later regions, mons like Cranidos also start appearing there, so that seems to be the only way to catch them as for now.
When it comes to game corner, I don't really know, sorry. The issue may be the same as above, yet it shouldn't be this way, so I am not sure.
Most probably it will turn out that I will have to update the game from PE v 19.1 to 20.1, which should help with all the issues, yet the main problem with it is that it will take (a lot of) time and as there is no EBDX for PE v 20.1, mons will be static.
Sorry for all the inconvenience.

Hello, I have a problem that I think does not let me access route 104 to go to the second gym in the kalos region. Or is there an alternate route?

Hi! What should I do to get the National Pokédex? I've already caught almost all of Johto pokémon but I still have only the Kanto Pokédex.

try leaving the map and going there again, in files there is everything ok. If that doesn't help, I will have to recompile the file, but it won't happen anytime soon as there is a lot going on rn and I have no time

not sure why that happens, I got mine after catching the first gen 2 mon...
Maybe you have loaded screen to Kanto Pokedex, than you have to press x and there should be menu with option to see the National one.
And, as for now, there no regional dexes like Jotho one etc.

has anyone caught a shiny yet?
throughout the normal gameplay, where I was just tasting mainly trainer battles and some events, without shiny hunting, I met 4 or 5. So good luck finding one, my first one was Snubbull I guess 😎

I hope that this year I will finish the game, at least the part up to Paldea and its future DLC content😎 thanks!

Any clue where the good and super rods are? Are they in Kanto somewhere or in another region. I'm up to Hoenn and still only have the Old rod.

FYI I entered the Coolness Contest and when I finished the 2nd round it crashed.

They all are in Kanto. Good Rod is in the city, where you defeat Erika. When you talk to one of its citizens, he will give you Good Rod after beating Erika. Super Rod is also somewhere in Kanto, don't remember where exactly now.

Hi! I'm having the exact same problem. I can't pass the route 103 in Kalos cause the road going north seems all black. Have you managed some way to get over that problem?

I've tried leaving the place and going back there and closing the game and open it again, but it's still impossible to access to route 104.

Okay guys, the map connection between Road 103 & 104 in Kalos region has been fixed!

As for those waiting for information about the Paldea region - I started working on it. But, I also decided that the terastal phenomenon is too important not to include it in the region. So, the game with the newest version with Paldea will be updated to Pokemon Essentials v20.1. That means few things. First of all, your current save files will be broken, so if you will want to go to the Paldea region... You will have to start over the game. Get through Kanto to Hisui, and later start with Paldea. Every event, trainer and encounters will be rewritten, so there will be (a lot of) changes. Second of all, EBDX feature is not available (as for now, maybe ever) for Pokemon Essentials v201., which means that all of the sprites that will be encountered in the version of a game with Paldea will be static, they will not move.
The estimated time of waiting for Paldea - few months from now. A lot of depends on so many situations, spare time etc. Definitely it won't come before summer.
Sorry for all inconvenience and enjoy the product! 😎
