INTRO:
Moss Lime and Coral Lapis are sequels to Pokémon Aster Violet, Iris Purple and Rose Pink.
https://eeveeexpo.com/threads/1368/

They are a showcase of what an open world Pokémon game could be like.

Both games have stories that diverge at the end.
The region, Far Islands, is based on the Faroese Islands, just north of the Scottish Isles.

Fantastic, Aster Violet was great. What are the story differences between the two versions? Unsure what to pick.

Thank you so much. ^_^

Neither version is superior, unlike Aster Violet vs RP/IP.

The main difference is which dungeon you get to enter after defeating all the grunts.
ML has Moss Cave on Route 555 and CL has Coral Cave on Bird Island.
The dungeons have separate bosses, with a slightly different story and a legendary each.

The other main difference is in early game, where it depends on what kind of Eevee you can get on Route 552.
A "white" Eevee in ML and a "black" one in CL.

btw. Make sure to get version 0.27, as it fixes a game breaking bug.

And have fun playing ML or CL. ^_^

UPDATE:
Version 0.3x has new story elements.
A new character has been added that must be battled several times before the climax.

Also several issues were fixed that previously made the games unable to progress.

I'm still in need of beta testers.
Any feedback and bug reports are greatly appreciated.

Enjoy.

UPDATE:
Version 0.5x has the game almost finished, a few bug fixes and added a speed button.
Beta testing is still ongoing.

UPDATE:
Version 1.0x. Beta testing has concluded and the games are completed.
I'll still be supporting them with fixes to any major bugs, so feedback is very much welcome.
Enjoy.

There are no megas. Just regular evolutions.

I estimate around 5 hours for the main story and maybe 7 hours of post-game.
Of course mileage can vary.

where do you need to go when you beat the champion?
Hi and thanks for playing. 😊

If you've beaten and Bonnie four times in the Pkmn centres and all the grunts in the towns, you can head to Moss Cave on Route 555 (in Moss Lime) or to Coral Cave on Bird Island (in Coral Lapis).
When you're done with that you'll meet an npc in a pkmn center for the post game to start.

Good luck and enjoy. 😊

I have not altered the shiny rate, so it's at default, except for a certain scripted event.

Do i have to beat Aster Violet to play these? like, is beating Aster Violet crucial to the new games storyline?

It's not necessary to play AV first.
Since you play as a new protagonist, the recurring characters get reintroduced.

Good question though. :)

where do i get Pokedex and Running Shoes in Coral Lapis?
You get the running shoes and pokegear from your Grandma on Holm Island.
She will scold you for leaving without permission though. XD

The Pokedex is given by the Professor's Aid in the gate to Canyon Forest.

Random thought but, if you're doing "dual releases" whatever your reason may be, I think it'd be more convenient to keep it all withing one download/Essentials project. Simply adding a "what version do you want to play?" at the start to set a "version being played" variable and then keep whatever events make the game different check for this variable, cause I guess managing two projects files must be hell, specially if you are later updating them and have to do them separately, as this "method" would keep the PBS and code as just one.
