Plot:
- "The ECO project is a failure", 5 years earlier than the current narrative arc -
A group of researchers is working on a revolutionary project in a laboratory.
If successful, the experiments conducted within it would allow communication between the pokémon world and the distortion world, which is guarded by Giratina.
Due to the negligence of the research group supervisor, one of the machines inside the laboratory catches fire.
The fire causes the destruction of the entire structure; in addition, one of the members of the research group lost his life.

Our adventure begins; it starts from a small town, SHIMMERING TOWN, located in the center of the SHINZO region.
Present and past events, apparently distant from each other, will begin to intertwine and upset the lives of many people.

Important notes:
It appears that the ROM only works with specific versions of the VBA and certain settings.
  • Make sure you use version 1.7.2 of the VBA and set it as follows: "Options> Emulator> Save Type> Flash 128K".
  • If you are using Windows 10, be sure to run the emulator with the "windows 7 compatibility mode".
This way, you shouldn't have any problems with freeze or white screens!

You don't know how pleased i am that despite the language barrier, you still gave a chance to my project.
And of course thank you for all these compliments, i'm so happy that you liked the maps and the features of the game (ps. great team)!
It was a really fun game! Another thing I forgot to add is that the character customization option was really impressive, too. I've never seen a hue slider option like that with customization in romhacks before.

Available the new version 1.0.2, downloadable as usual from the main post, in which numerous bugs have been fixed:
  • Fixed catchrate in wild double battles
  • Fixed bug that caused the appearance of a bad egg in box 1 (if it's already present in your save, it will be automatically deleted)
  • Fixed summary screen graphic-bug
  • Fixed some mapping errors
  • Added middle spawnpoints in the Origin Cave
  • Fixed some trainer moves
  • Fixed HM rock climb description
  • Correct layout of all texts and corrected some errors in the dialogues
  • Added ability to reuse MT as in Generation V

Good afternoon everyone and welcome to a new update!
Three months have now passed since the last real update regarding the project, that is, the one relating to the release of the new beta.
I think it's time to go further and focus on what's new in the future.

1. New City
First, i want to introduce one of the cities that will be available in the final beta, that is Snoweil City:

It's a small town north of the Shinzo region.
Due to its geographical position, the climate is perpetually cold, with very low temperatures below freezing.
This place can be reached via the subway, or from route 8.
In order to fully appreciate the setting of this map, both day and night, i bring you a short gameplay:


2. Animations
Part of the work i'm doing is about making new animations, which will be shown on certain occasions during gameplay.
Specifically, today i'd like to show you a couple of them:

The first sequence, still incomplete, shows some details of Neomoor City.
This animation will be played shortly before a very important event that will take place in the city just mentioned.
In the second animation, instead, you can see a short animation of a train in a tunnel and it will be loaded every time the player uses the railway system of the region!

Before saying goodbye, I also announce that this will be the only summer update.
Further news will be published in September!

Goodmorning everyone!
The month of September has arrived and, as specified in the last update, it's time to delve into the news related to the project.
During the period since the last update, i've mainly focused on developing the latest maps that can be visited during the story!
Among these, two are the ones that i would like to show you today!

1. Distortion World

It's inevitable.
When we think of Giratina, it doesn't take much to place the distorted world alongside her figure.
As far as i could, i tried to repropose the peculiarities and mechanics that distinguish this map!
In particular, in order for the background elements to move more slowly than the game's camera, and thus give the idea of depth, i used the parallax technique.
Furthermore, by exchanging the player's inputs at the vertical platforms, it was also possible to give a three-dimensional effect!
Later, as you can see in the second screen, it will be possible to see the silhouette of Giratina fluttering quickly between the platforms!

Finally, in reference to the third and final screen, Giratina's overworld will be animated!
To summarize all that i've said, i leave you a brief gameplay:

2. Team Rocket Base
In the final part of the story, the player will facing the rocket team inside their base:

I've always had a very advanced vision of their base from a technological point of view, which is why i tried to insert numerous elements that recall that type of aesthetics, including numerous monitors, electrical cables, lights, etc...
The left computer and the trash tiles were made by Kyledove, while the rest were designed by me specifically for this map!

I hope that despite the small quantity, you liked the news presented today!
I still don't know if this will be the only autumn update, so i suggest you to check the topic in the coming weeks.
Otherwise, see you directly in December!

Hello everyone and welcome to the latest update for 2021.
This year was a particularly lucky year for the project, so much so that the first beta was released, which was positively received by all of you and for this i thank you infinitely.
Furthermore, in recent months a lot of progress has been made both in terms of maps and in terms of implementations, so i'm particularly satisfied with how development is progressing.
Hoping that next year will be equally productive, so 2022 will finally be able to close this "circle" that began ten years ago.
Now we can move on to today's news!

1. New Intro
The first news i would like to show you is the new intro:

The animated sequence created shows various scenes in pixel art of the first event of the story, the one that will then start all the subsequent events that will characterize the adventure.
I want to clarify that the clouds visible in the first two scenes were drawn by Fintaman.

2. Indoor maps

In this last period, most of the time dedicated to the project was devoted to the creation of the indoor maps.
Focusing on the first screen, we can observe a small kitchen of a restaurant in Ethereal City.
Here you can taste the chef's workhorse: the sweet and tasty malasade.
The creation of this map was strongly inspired by a pixelart work by Doctorcello, that is https://pixeljoint.com/pixelart/117670.htm.
Moving on, inside the second screen we find the Neomoor city casino.
As in the main titles of the series, by playing the various minigames available on the map you can acquire coins and which can then be exchanged for prizes.
The tiles of the tables and slot machines were made by Vazquinho25, while the other internal tiles were designed from scratch by myself.

3. New puzzles

The latest in this update are puzzles.
In fact, in order to make certain game sequences more exciting, the players will be offered some puzzles to solve.
The first that i would like to show you is the one visible in the video, in which we will have to rearrange the wires in the electrical panel in such a way as to restore the original circuit and have the possibility to open the door.

Good morning and welcome to the first update of 2022!
First, i decided to open a discord server related to Giratina's Legend: https://discord.gg/HvJdaxpD
This allow you to know several news in advance before they are posted here on the forum!
This update will be particularly full-bodied, so i wouldn't waste any more time and immediately move on to today's news!

1. Shinzo region
In the last update i had specified how the latest progress of the project concerned the mapping.
Here, i can finally tell you that the external maps of the region, therefore routes and cities, have finally been completed!
Below i leave you the map of the entire region, so that you can have a global view of what you will play (attention, large image):

You can see that the final part of the game will mainly focus on the northwest part of the region, with big cities, snowy paths and warm deserts.

2. Drought Town
Speaking of deserts, as i haven't officially done it yet, i'd like to introduce you to Drought Town:

This small village is located in the desert area of the region.
Thanks to the discovery of nearby oil fields, in recent years the town has undergone a significant landscape and economic expansion.
This town can be reached thanks to the region's rail system, starting from Neomoor City station.
To accompany this brief description, i also leave you a brief gameplay of the map:


3. Three Regis
By now, i guess you all know that the main story of the game is centered around Giratina.
But no one knows that the post game will focus, for reasons that you will only discover by playing, on the trio of legendary titans.
Since they play an important role from the point of view of the "lore" of the game, i thought of dedicating special structures to them with their appearance:

The temple dedicated to registeel is still WIP and will probably be shown later!

4. Mini-game Crossover
In parallel with the development of the necessary implementations for the game, i've developed a small "easter egg" that will be available in the next beta:

The game takes up the classic mechanics of the first super mario, but adapted to the pokèmon world!

5. Script
The last thing I'd like to show you today is about scripts.
In fact, following the completion of numerous maps and implementations, i decided to dedicate to scripting.
What i would like to share with you today is a short sequence of one of the latest main story events (for those who haven't played the current beta, the video contains spoilers):

This sequence is quite significant, because it represents the methodology with which i'll also develop the next events of the game.
In particular, mainly for important game sequences, there will be some pixel art that will emphasize the actions of the characters.

Good morning everyone and welcome to a new update!
It has been a few months since I posted here on the forum.
During this long period I have been swamped with university commitments, but despite this I managed to dedicate some of my free time to the project.
In particular, I have started working on the main story scripts, starting with the ending (already fully scripted) and going backwards.

1. Some screens
The first thing I would like to show you today are a bunch of screens taken from some of the events inherent to GL's main storyline:

Starting from the left, in the first screen you can see one of the last events I made.
Due to some problems, Neomoor City has been left without electricity.
With the help of a lever, the player will have to restore the power generator and bring light back to the city!
Turning to the second screen, you can see one of the first events you will play in the upcoming beta.
As you can easily guess, the northern part of Ethereal City is under attack by rampaging Gyarados.
It will be our job to limit the damage and attempt to quell this pokémon.
Finally, the last screen features the final battle against Giratina and which will take place in the distorted world.
To emphasize the use of the gray sphere by the hooded man, i made the small pixel art visible in the screen!

2. Animated Ending
As I had mentioned in some past updates, important events related to the main storyline will be accompanied by some pixel art.
Today I would like to show you the sequence that will be loaded during the last dialogue of the game:


3. The project is on hiatus
I would not have wanted to give you this news, but unfortunately the project enters a hiatus for a few months.
In fact, due to a six-month internship abroad, I will not be able to work on the project until April 2023.
However, I hope that what I have shown you today will still be able to make up for this small interruption.
That said, see you in May 2023 with the next update!
