Notes:
It's random chance that goes into deciding who you face at the Gym. I've done everything I could think of to keep it interesting and avoid repetition, but it may happen once in a while, especially early on. Also, some early-game Trainers get stronger if you leave them be. You can only fight each Trainer once, so make it count!
Finally, there is no barrier between areas. You can access areas containing Pokemon five times your strength straight out the gate!
Have fun you guys!

Hello, everyone! Taking a quick break from my hiatus to give a quick update on... well, the update! I hope everyone has been enjoying the game and what it has to offer! It will be a while, but I hope to have even more for you guys in the future.

First of all, I wanted to talk about the secret boss! Quite a few of you have bested this powerful opponent, and it has been great to hear your individual experiences with the game! With that being said, there will no longer be an award for beating the secret boss. The people that have recently DMed me will be that last to know what it is. What could it have been? You'll have to wait for the next update to find out. As for those of you that know, remember: this is a secret between us! All I ask is that you keep it for a bit longer 😉.

Speaking of the update, I hope you are all excited for what is in store! Many bug fixes are promised, including many fixes involving vacations. Speaking of which, new quest, locations, and even Pokemon will be appearing as well. I won't spoil much, but expect to see some new regional variants of the Starter Pokemon, as well as Pokemon not originally available in game! In addition, something big is planned for this next update! Once again, I am not saying much, but I will say it is the "true" ending to Pokemon This Gym of Mine!

With that in mind, I must mention that this next major update will be the FINAL major update for Pokemon This Gym of Mine. It has been a wonderful ride these past few years, even with its ups and downs. When this update releases, Pokemon This Gym of Mine will be exactly as I envisioned it to be when I made it for the Game Jam. There will still be small updates to deal with small glitches here and there, but there won't be any new Pokemon, areas, or storybeats added afterwards.
Thank you all so much for playing my game. Whether you have just joined recently, or if you've been here since the beginning, thank you for enjoying Pokemon This Gym of Mine. This game wouldn't be half the experience it is now, and will be in the future, if it wasn't for everyone's constant support for this game. For that, I can't be anything other than grateful to you all.

Once again, thank you all so much!
I hope you all have a nice day!
Hey, I was wondering if there's any info about This Gym of Mine in a wiki or something? It'd be helpful knowing the encounter percentage as well as the full list of pokemon available in the game.

How do I evolve Haunter? Considering it is usually a trade evolution, and that isn't really available to me

Hey All, I think I softlocked my game, and was wondering if anyone had a possible fix.

I went on a vacation to Cedolan City and then left after one day. While I was there I used the PokeCenter. Later after I left, I whited out in battle and got sent back to Cedolan City. Without really thinking too much about it, I saved my game while exploring again, Later to find out that I wasn't able to leave. There's nothing I can interact with at the boat, I can stay an infinite amount of times at the inn, and I cant find anyway to leave.

Hopefully someones got a solution. I would hate to restart the whole game.
i think fly works in this game? do you have a pokemon that learns fly?

After playing even more, I realized a key piece this game is missing, Ditto.
This was made evident to me when I went to try and catch a Starter. Finding any one specific starter is hard enough, trying to find a female one(chimchar in my case) is near impossible. This is also a problem if your Starter is male...

I am still enjoying the game, very much so. Leveling up to be able to Battle Edgar, which is how I came across the problem above. Egg moves are a thing I care about.

Fun bit: My team was in the High 30s. A mountain guy shows up to challenge me... with a LV 70 Tyranitar. I wonder if he's the only one... or if every Gym type has one of these.

Not a particular complaint, but would it be possible to give the Blissey trainer Healing Wish to expedite the grinding process?

As it stands, the game is very nice. I know you're working with your own stuff, so not like you need to answer or update things, but wanted to mention a few things that could be fixed
-The colors at the start of the game for the different gym types seem a little off here and there, like the ghost and water type gems or whatever they were seemed like they could have been flipped.
-I'm not sure if there is something like it and I haven't found it, but if it's not there, it might be nice, especially at the start of the game when you need three pokemon to start your gym, if you had something that told you if there's a pokemon in an area that has your gym type. It wouldn't tell you what other types of pokemon were there or how many of that type were there, but just so you're not hunting to see if the place might have the pokemon you need.
-And then this last bit happens within some of the story stuff, so putting a spoiler on it.
When you get kidnapped, you can talk to the guard in front of the ladder and just get infinite lum berries and soda pop from them for free, so that's free healing, status heal and even money since you could sell all that. Plus you can also use your phone while in the cave they're keeping you in. The phone that has the number for the police. You can't call the police and it says you should only call them for something important, but being kidnapped seems like it might be important. I can also call the gym guy but he doesn't seem concerned, though when you escape and run into him and the mayor, he's talking about how the town was looking all over, so it feels like a phone call would have seemed important. It might work if you make it that being in the cave means you can't use the phone because you don't have signal or maybe if you wanted to be complicated, have them damage or break the pokegear so the phone can't be used and you can't use the phone until you've left and slept to have it repaired.
-Another thing seems to be Hail doesn't work right I believe. I've used hail but it doesn't damage any non ice type pokemon either from me or my opponent.

Anyway, a lovely game! It was fun to play and I'll likely play again in the future to try another type.

Has anyone figured out how to get fossile pokemon?
As far as I know, there are no fossil Pokemon in the game currently, other than Aerodactyl and Shieldon, which are both starters (Aerodactyl for Rock, Shieldon for Steel).

Enjoying the game so far but I chose Ground type and sandstorm doesn’t do residual damage each turn. For the ability sand stream and the move both don’t respond

Phantump doesn't seem to be in the game either, from what I've seen.

On a separate note, I don't know if this has been reported before, but I found a bug when choosing my Grass starter - I tried to pick Cottonee at first, but it kept looping me back to choosing my starter. I tried Cottonee twice, then Cherubi, then Petilil, and that time it finally went through; it might be because I selected to give the Petilil a nickname (though I didn't name it), and I didn't with any of the others, but I'm not sure. Regardless, when I started the game, I ended up with all of the starters I'd chosen: two Cottonee, one Cherubi, and one Petilil.

Is there mega evolution? I want to use Mawile, but without it, it is kinda weak.

Also, what are all of the Variant of the game?

Is there mega evolution? I want to use Mawile, but without it, it is kinda weak.

Also, what are all of the Variant of the game?
No Mega evolution, no. These are the variants I know of, but my list is incomplete, and probably inaccurate in some areas... (Thanks to Bradbingham for helping me fix it!)

Aron/Lairon/Aggron (Steel/Dragon)
Bronzor/Bronzong (Steel/Fairy)
Cherrim (Grass/Dark - Grass/Fairy in Blossom form)
Chinchou/Lanturn (Water/Dark)
Gardevoir (Electric/Fairy)/Gallade (Electric/Fighting)
Hitmonchan (Fighting/Ghost)/Hitmonlee (Fighting/Normal)/Hitmontop (Fighting/Rock)
Magby/Magmar/Magmortar (Fire/Water)
Misdreavus/Mismagius (Ghost/Fire)
Munchlax/Snorlax (Dark)
Nidoran F/Nidorina/Nidoqueen (Ice/Ground)
Nidoran M/Nidorino/Nidoking (Ice/Ground)
Onix (Rock/Fire)/Smeltix (Steel/Fire)
Shinx/Luxio/Luxray (Electric/Flying)

There are also some other Regional Pokemon as well:
Alolan Geodude
Alolan Meowth
Alolan Rattata
Alolan Sandshrew
Alolan Vulpix
Galarian Zigzagoon?
