But if you encounter a Pokemon that has a Mega or Gigantamax form in the official games, you can expect it to mega evolve.

Well I've finally finished this game! What a journey

I'll try to keep it somewhat brief since I've given a lot of my thoughts over the 11 hours that I streamed this game. But here we go:
-First of all, I really appreciate that this game never crashed for me, overall the game felt pretty polished throughout, it did not feel like a jam game not only because of its length, but because it feels complete and bug free.
-Art/presentation of this game is fantastic, from trainer overworlds being unique and having lots of character, to the new fakemon/regional sprites being really cool. Especially the King of Aliens overworld forms. two AMAZING overworld sprites that just shock the player, and they are animated?!?!?!? The 2nd form with the ballsack of eyeballs really took me for a spin, I loved that.
-The game felt smooth, fights never felt unfair, I always had plenty of tools at my disposal to play how I wanted. And I never had to grind!!!!! Yay!!!!!!!
-I really like how despite this game being an 8 gym jam game, it's story is still very focal and present throughout the game. It doesn't just all get dumped on you at the end. You collect triangles alongside doing gyms, discovering new central characters and plot points, culminating in an amazing finale where you go to the land of aliens, space!
-Repurposing gigantamax forms as megas was really fun.

Only have two nitpicky negative things to say, and they are fairly nitpicky
-Whenever the game got to a story point with team eclipse, it would just flood you with corridors of trainers, and at the end of that long corridor is where all the story would unfold for that chapter of the story. It just felt like way too many trainers sometimes, and it would be nice to have some more interesting gameplay aspects than just trainers for those points. Whether that be typical evil base spinner tiles, a partner joining you for double battles, or some kind of puzzle mechanic. Funnily enough, in all the routes and everywhere else, I thought the number of trainers were well balanced, it was only when team eclipse showed up that it felt like too much.

-This one is kind of weird, but after you battle team eclipse at wasureru cave, megas become a thing. And for the couple of routes after that, nearly every random trainer on those routes has a mega. And it feels like a bit much. But then after those couple of routes, it stops and random trainers having megas become a bit more rare. It just felt a bit odd. But I am greatful that the mega population lightened up a bit. And on the note of megas, I personally don't like that double battles where it is two trainers that you fight, are able to use two mega pokemon. It never made the game feel too hard or anything, and I get why they can do that, it just doesn't really feel right/fair. But that's more a personal opinion.

I'm unsure what you mean by that.
The first gym is the Rock gym. Beating it is required to reach the second one. The one random gym in the second town is getting demolished so you don't need to beat it.
