If the stars are aligned and the RNG gods are kind, this game is essentially a straight line and 5 battles. You can't get any simpler than that... right?
What's more implausible than the stars aligning, I would say, is having your tastes line up with mine...
...which is why, if you played the game, and somehow enjoyed it in any way or form, you have my deepest and most sincerest gratitude. <3

Can i play on android?? What emulator do i need??
Can i play on android???...what app do i need??..i already downlaoded rar

Please note that RPGMaker games like this one are generally designed to play on Windows PCs. If you're trying to play on an Android device, JoiPlay may be able to work, but I do not guarantee its success and will not be able to provide support for any problems that may crop up on that app. You may want to refer to NikDie's guide on how to set up JoiPlay.

This game is absolutely awesome! Hades being my favorite roguelike of all time, I felt immediately reminded of that game. I understand that Hell Girl is a Jam game, so things I would have perhaps liked to see for a pokemon roguelike (like certain competitive items being randomly available in rooms during a run, a room that gives you the ability to switch out a single injured mon for a different pokemon of your original party of 6, or maybe even the capability to, in hard mode, 'encounter' a random pokemon that was previously not an option that you can add to your team) probably wouldn't have been feasible options given the amount of time available during a game jam. I think an awesome, low effort change would be to allow 4 pokemon instead of 3 though: makes it a lot more reasonable to build a well balanced team, you're not instantly screwed if one of your pokemon dies, and, seeing how most fights are double battles, it would have emulated a VGC-esque experience nicely. There also seem to be a small handful of moves missing (e.g. I couldn't teach my Sylveon heal bell, which would have been a really nice move to have given the procedual nature of the game).

That being said, these are minor grievances - overall, I'm having a blast! What I especially love is hard mode - limiting your selection to 30 random pokemon makes the game TRULY feel like a roguelike and forces interesting decision making at the start of a run, instead of turning it into a "what are the 3 most optimal pokemon I could bring" thought experiment. The difficulty of the game is also absolutely perfect imo.

Hi! Thank you so, so much for playing the game and leaving your thoughts on it!! <33 Apologies for the missing moves; the idea was for all the Pokémon to have access to their Move Tutor, TM and Egg moves, but it seems like some of them got left out (there were honestly too many of them to keep track!)

It's interesting that you categorized this game as a roguelike straight up, because that isn't how I would describe it at all! To me, it's more of a battle sim with extra elements. I was trying to recreate the Battle Pike (one of Pokémon Emerald's Battle Frontier facilities) with my favorite aesthetics and music; Hades was an inspiration for the game's style and visuals, rather than its gameplay or mechanics. And while your suggestions do make for some really, really cool rooms (the amount of strategizing and teambuilding possibilities involved in such a game would make any competitive player giddy with excitement!), they don't exactly lie within the scope of what I intend this game to be. Arguably, an actual Pokémon roguelike the way you (and roguelike fans) envision it would be more fun, haha! Perhaps you might want to check out Don't Go, Pikachu! from the same jam by Sipondo and his team? It's pretty much a traditional roguelike at its core, with procedural generated stages, randomized items and encounters, and lots of cute girls too!

Once again, thank you for playing! I'm so happy you enjoyed it! ^^

I recently picked up Hell Girl and the only way I can describe it is as if it's the Pokemon game I've been waiting for. I haven't beaten it yet (only been playing for a day, cut me some slack) but I can't figure out how to adjust my IVs on a Manectric to be able to run HP Ice/Grass. I'm making this post in the case that it's not a feature of the game yet, and my argument for the devs to allow the changing of IVs other than for Hidden Power builds is so someone can have a counter Trick Room Pokemon on a speedster team.

Hi! Thank you so much for trying out the game! Unfortunately, there's no feature that allows for the changing of IVs. While I agree with your argument to quite an extent, at this point, I don't feel compelled to make any additional changes to the game. My apologies, and I hope you understand.

Hi Armin!
This game is amazing, I'm only on the first stage and having a huge blast with it! And hoping to do a review later on the game once I'm through.

I understand that a IV modifier is not in the running for a updated feature anytime soon and I understand that.
Was hoping to ask though, do you have any plans to allow for us to change the genders of our pokemon and change their sprites to the shiny versions at the Statue?

I think a Shiny option at the statue or at least an item that changes the pokemon to its shiny colors would be an amazing feature to have for those that enjoy that type of thing.
Also, not trying to offend, but mainly asked about the genders being a changeable option with pokemon because I'm just pretty particular when it comes to some pokemon regarding their genders like I am during a normal pokemon game, but maybe that's just a me thing. I just think an option where we could have a pokemon with any gender would be appealing for the spectrum. (I try to say that though without being political about it of course.)

Because I'll be honest, game is honestly very close to being a PKHEX editor at the beginning as it is. But better because it has Hell, Monster Girls and Explosions! xD

Hi Bronzeswagger! Thank you so much for playing the game and leaving such nice words! (And I'm glad you enjoyed the girls and explosions!) <33 Unfortunately, this project is basically wrapped up for me, and I do not plan to add any more new features and updates to it, including the customization of Shininess and gender. So sorry about that!

As RPGMaker games are generally designed to play on Windows PCs, I'm not familiar with the workings of JoiPlay and thus will not be able to provide support for any problems that may crop up on that app. You may want to refer to NikDie's guide or FL's guide on how to play games on JoiPlay.

Is there a specific app needed to run this? It shows up as a .rar (i don't know what that is sorry) file and asks me to use an app to open it. I would love to be able to play this game
