DEVELOPER NOTES
I've made a lot of fangames before, but this is the first one featuring completely original (human) characters and setting. This is probably the best story I've written so far!

Special thanks to @ENLS for playtesting and scripting.
Also, keep an ear out for his amazing music compositions, including the main cooking theme, library/school theme, cave theme, and two tracks for Mia.

The main inspirations for this game include Eevee's Spooky Diner, Pokémon Family Restaurant, Pokémon Nightshade, Pokémon Halcyon, and Stardew Valley. @Ekat has always been a big inspiration for me, and you can easily see her influence in the style and tone of this game.

Lastly, after this and Farfetch'd 2, I'm eager to explore new game engines (like Godot) for future jams. I’m still open to making games in Essentials, but probably not on this scale again, especially solo.

I hope you enjoy Archer's story as much as I enjoyed creating it!

This is an amazing game! I've only got up to Day 4 (Act 1) but I've had such a blast. The restaurant sim element is super-satisfying and fun to do. The story is brilliant - I've laughed and gasped in equal measure. There are elements of Archer's story which really resonated with me on a personal level too, something that rarely happens in a Pokemon game. Can't wait to see where the story goes!

Finished the full game last weekend - OMG it was awesome! Definitely the best fan-game I've played. 10/10 - no notes

My spoiler-free review

• Music overall fit really well with each area. Great level of variety.
• Loved the re-imagining of Legends Arceus sound effects and music in an earlier-gen style.
• Range of Pokémon was good, as a Galarian myself I appreciated the inclusion of Gen VIII Pokémon!
• Levels of trainers and wild Pokémon were pitched at the right amount of difficulty to avoid grinding.
• Enjoyed the prevalence of doubles battles, definitely makes it more interesting.
• Follow Pokémon and overworld encounters gave the game a nice immersive feel.
• Interesting and emotional plot with great story beats - shocking twists aplenty!
• Hands-down the most engaging story I've experienced in a Pokémon game.
• Great laugh out loud moments, especially where Jeffrey was involved.

• As someone who has a difficult relationship with my birth father, I really resonated with Archer’s story.
• Watching the way their relationship developed throughout the game, I could genuinely see where both of them were coming from. It was lovely to see them reconcile. Excellent storytelling.
• Archer's character development was so interesting and human. I totally appreciated his just wanting to get along with Kingler's Kitchen. The conversation he has with Dexter about this felt like a real loss of innocence moment for him.
• The end to Archer’s arc was really satisfying. He learned to own his mistakes and accept the bad things as well as the good. Victini was right to laud his qualities of restraint and altruism at the culmination of his journey.
• Mia and Lou were supporting great characters with very believable relationships and personalities. I loved Lou in particular, he genuinely wants the best for Archer and he'll get up to no end of hijinks to help him out!
• The revelation of Mike being Archer and then Celebi and co appearing... WOW! I was absolutely like ‘wtf?!’
• Time travel, changing history, actual proper moral dilemmas! I was INVESTED!
• The mini-bosses in Celebi's trial were super cool, especially Iron Flames.
• I loved the climax to the story and finally getting to fight Brett and Madison. Their strategies were very annoying - a perfect match for their personalities

is galarian Farfetch'd available? i saw him in the house on the island.

My final team: Arcanine, Greninja, Vikavolt, Flygon, Corviknight, Torterra.

A couple of glitches. i didn't have any character sprites for the last few battles (the people), madison wasn't even on map for the doubles. (though she is now in the post game even though she is alone)

But also you missed a square. lake in town, directly behind the lamp. can be walked on.

But all in all give the game a solid 9.7/10

I just finished playing this game like 30 mins ago and made an account here just to say-- thank you so much for making this! I had a lot of fun with Archer and getting to know all the characters, I don't even know if I can choose a favorite NPC. There were a lot of plot things things I didn;t expect but also resolved pretty tastefully in a way that complements Archer's personal growth as a character as the story progresses. Admittedly it took me a while to realize how you had to do the Growls Special XP. Collecting Pokemon was also pretty fun, and I felt very free to mix up my party. I'm not too good at Poke-battles even after all these years so I'm glad it was forgiving enough for a player like me while remaining challenging in some aspects. Blablablabalbala I'm typing too much! Thank you for the fun time and I hope you have fun making more games in the future, too! ^^

Just finished the game and I loved it so much ! It offered such a different dynamic than the usual pokemon games
I was really surprised by how long it was, the story kept developing even when I thought I might be near the end.
And the wild pokemons you chose for the region were really good, I had so much trouble deciding which ones I wanted to keep on my team lol !

Good Morning. I want to report that game Slowpoke Shack doesn’t work when I download it at all. Whenever I’m starting it, there are opening windows informing that game can’t open because some files can’t be found, and demands to download game again, EVEN THOUGH THESE FILES EXIST IN GAME FOLDER. And even downloading game 5 times didn’t worked at all. I feel deeply sad that I’m not able to play this game, and I hope the issue will be fixed as soon as possible. If it’s helpful, my computer have system Microsoft 365

Odds are, your antivirus is deleting a (or some) files.

And Microsoft 365 isn't an operating system, it's just a bunch of Microsoft programs bundled together.

God what a perfect ride this game was XD

You were right about Ekat's influence (one of my all-time favorite developers, her and Michael), and I can definitely say you took the best parts of her games! The visuals and their composition were stunning. I really enjoyed the map designs, and the colors are pleasing to the eye.

The story was extremely good with the curveballs it threw at us again and again and again! I don't normally enjoy time travel stuff, but here it was handled very gracefully. At some point in the new timeline, I was convinced we were going to go back and sell our old self slowpoke tail sousages, and it was going to be a whole timeloop thing XD I loved the direction this went, the grey-shaded characters (morally wise) were definitely fun to watch. Their redemption arcs are small-scaled, as any non-evil-villain is ought to be, but handled so well that you can feel their impact in your soul.

The back-to-back battles before Victini are such a clever way to mimic Elite Four (5? 6? Do the lovers count as separate battles?), and I'm ashamed to admit it, but Victini really made me struggle. I would have wiped if it wasn't for my Swampert :,)

I also love the parallels between us and the boss. The way we ran to the countryside as soon as we could, while he ran to the city as soon as he could. How we opened a restaurant to escape from our dead-end job, while the restaurant is his dead-end job. It was really not what I expected him to be like, but I really enjoyed it. (I did kinda expect a mob boss with all the Pokémon heads he has hanging around, I was half expecting him to tell Brett to give us concrete shoes lol)

And the frenemies-to-lovers thing Madison and Brett had going on in the background was fantastic, I'm offended we weren't invited to the wedding XD

Overall, I loved it! My only complaint is that Archer isn't nicer to the Lotad guy, he is my all-time favorite XD
