Relic Castle Winter Jam #3

Welcome back to the Relic Castle Winter Game Jam! This is our third year of hosting a game jam during the winter (at least here in the northern hemisphere) and I'm proud to still be organizing! Can't wait to see what you'll make!

For the uninformed: a game jam is an event where developers will get together and make a game. It sounds simple at first glance, but making a good game is much more difficult and time consuming than you might think. Participating in one is a great way to challenge yourself, learn new skills, and polish your overall experience as a game developer.

Last year's winter jam broke forum records for amount of entries, and we're hoping to break more records this year! If you're interested in seeing what previous entrants have created, check out Fox's archive thread!

The Pokémon fan game community is an amazing place, and that's all thanks to each and every one of you. Take pride in that, and your hard work! Let's make this year's winter game jam a special one!

Progress (Current Plot):
You play as (Unnamed Fakemon

), a student attending Pokéhigh. The school dance is coming up at the end of the week, but if you want to go you’ll have to find a date before then! Walk around campus, attend class and talk with NPCs in search for the date of your dreams. But, if you want to have any chance in gaining the affection of these powerful Pokémon, you’ll need a good wingman to aid in battle! Search for the perfect sidekick by talking to and befriending fellow classmates to help you charm your way into the school dance. Who knows, you might even be able to win the title of Dance King/Queen!

TL//DR: Pokéhigh is a satirical parody of the dating sim genre that blends a 2v1 Pokémon battle formula with the plot of a visual novel. If you wanna work on a chill game filled with light-hearted humor and heartfelt moments, then you might be interested in this! It’s planned to have roughly 40-60~ minutes of gameplay.

Pokemon Yuki’s Thesis - Jam Recruitment

Story Summary:
You play as Professor Yuki, her latest research has her writing a thesis to gain her PhD in the field of Trainer and Pokemon Relations Research. At the start of her year-long thesis she gave out 3 Pokemon to residents of Umo Town. Mizuda, Annie, and Kent. She bides her time waiting until she meets them again while doing research on various areas of the region, she meets them from time to time and interacts asking about their goals and ambitions. Soon the year is finally up, and she then sets off to find them one last time and see how their bonds have formed with their Pokemon and changes that have formed within them.

Last time he left, he accidentally left behind an important gadget to do with his worked. Totally enamoured by it you "borrow" it to show your neighbour, Joshua. Joshua is not impressed and smashes it and gets his Spearow to scatter the pieces across Harmony Island. Emmett has to get the pieces back, and somehow fix the PDA before his dad returns in 4 days.
Additional Information: composer isn't 100% needed, nor is pixel artist. It'd be nice to get help in those departments. Playtesters are what I need most, a fresh pair of eyes testing the game.
