How to make a game over happen late?

Hello, I'm working on a game and I'm currently working with Pokemon Essentials v21.1 and I'm trying to make a battle in which, if the player loses, they don't immediately black out. Instead, a cutscene plays, AFTER which, the player blacks out then.

Let me repeat, because multiple people I've asked help from keep getting this wrong.
This is the order of events:
  • Battle starts
  • Lose battle
  • DON'T black out
  • Return to overworld
  • Cutscene plays
  • NOW black out

Every last point is doable from my own research, just by setting canLose to true. The only issue is the very last one. The question now is, how do I potentially induce a game over outside of battle?

You need to configure the battle to allow lose, then in the conditional branch, if the player loses you add the events for the cutscene.
I believe theres a switch to trigger the blackout, never tested it myself.
There's also an event called literally Game Over that triggers it.
