Created in Pokémon Essentials v20.1
This has been an on-and-off passion project for over 15 years (wild, I know 😅). The beta 3.3 currently includes 3 full regions - Johto, Kanto, and the Orange Islands - with Gyms and main story progression already in place.

Plot
Pokémon Silver Chronicles is a re-imagined version of Pokémon Silver (and Soul Silver) games,
expanded into a much larger, more connected Pokémon world, with new narrative arcs, long-term progression, and a more grounded take on legendary Pokémon. What if Pokémon Silver didn't end in Johto, and you were able to keep going with the game a bit more? This game aims to provide you with that experience!
You still play as Ethan (or Kris), a 14-year-old kid from New Bark Town, starting your journey by receiving your first Pokémon from Professor Elm. As in the original games, you can choose between Totodile, Cyndaquil, or Chikorita. From there, the adventure slowly expands far beyond the standard Gym challenge.

Your journey begins in Johto, where you’ll face the eight Gym Leaders, fight against Team Rocket, and challenge the Elite Four. Johto is very similar to the original game, so expect this part to really look like a remake. Things start to change after you beat the Elite Four, as now you can take part in a major global event called the Pokémon World Cup, a tournament that happens only once every four years. So winning the Elite Four is not the end of the game, but the beginning of a much larger journey.

After Johto, you move on to Kanto, where you can earn eight more Gym Badges while uncovering a darker storyline. The Pokémon Association, once seen as a symbol of order, is now being run by corrupt figures, and you need to help restore order in Kanto.

The adventure doesn’t stop there. Hoenn will be your final destination, where you’ll face eight more Gym Leaders and participate in the Pokémon World Cup one last time, now older, stronger, and far more experienced than when you first started your journey.
I'm in the process of translating and redoing the Hoenn main storyline. I'll post screenshots here soon.

One of the core ideas behind Pokémon Silver Chronicles is to make the world feel a bit more realistic and grounded. The game spans roughly five in-game years, allowing your character to grow from a teenager into a young adult. Legendary Pokémon exist, including Mew, Mewtwo, Lugia, and many others, but they are not handed out easily. I wanted to avoid the idea of a young trainer casually owning many legendary Pokémon, so encounters with them are rare, meaningful, and tied to the world and its story.

Even after finishing the main storyline, the game is designed to never truly be “over”. There’s always something to train for, explore, or discover.

Pokémon Silver Chronicles is my love letter to the Pokémon franchise and fans open to the idea of growing alongside their Pokémon. I’m excited to finally start sharing it with the community, and I’d love to hear any feedback or thoughts you might have.

As I've mentioned above, I've been developing this game for more than 15 years, so I erased and remade it several times, and it's very, very likely I'm missing some credits here. So, please, if I have some of your art in the game without proper credits, please let me know, and I'll add it immediately. I take this very seriously, and I'm paying some incredible artists to make custom assets for my game, but most of the art of the game comes from free tilesets, overworlds, etc, available for free by amazing artists!

Liking the game so far but issue I have is that the gym leader difficulty is kinda bonkers. Falkner having 6 pokemon with his ace being lvl 16 AND items are restricted is pretty unfair especially with Johto's really poor wild pokemon levels. I beat him on my first attempt but it wasn't fun and felt like artificial difficulty just to make him unreasonably harder. Gyms should slowly ramp in difficulty not start right off the bat rough.

Thanks for the feedback! My idea is to force people to have 6 Pokémon and use different team combinations since the beginning. There are electric Pokémon in the routes around Violet, and you can trade for a Ônix, catch a Geodude, and get a second initial in the Violet School side mission. I’ll adjust some wild Pokémon levels and appearing rate to make this part a bit easier and require less grind. Please let me know if you think the same of the other gyms, or just on the first one?

The difficulty is hard because of the level but the graphics is good, but i hope there more different in graphics than the nds honestly before i try but well it's okay, i also love the the features of interactive with our pokémon by taking with it

Yeah having access to electric types helped that's the only reason I actually managed to take his ace out despite the 4 level difference. What wasn't fun though was the fact that due to the level difference his Noctowl swept 4 of my pokemon and I had to rely on sand attack and paralysis. Having a team of 6 wouldn't have been an issue because the diversity you added in the wild pokemon encounters is good it's just the huge difference in levels with his ace compared to his other team members. He felt like such an insane difficulty spike compared to Elder Li, maybe if sprout tower gave out more exp or the wild pokemon levels were modified to account for Falkner having a lvl 16 ace it'd be more tolerable.

And I'll let you know what I think of Bugsy. Should get to him tonight or tomorrow.

Also I will say that I do really like the graphics, I am tired of Gen 3 graphic style games so it's nice to see more Gen 4 and 5 style games, plus the variety is really good. I appreciate being able to get Natu (one of my favorite pokemon) early. So despite the difficulty I am enjoying your game.

I just got to Azalea town, cleared Slowpoke Well, fought the rival, and fought some of the gym trainers. The issue is 100% the exp yields from wild pokemon. The wild pokemon are just too weak to grind off of and there aren't many trainers to grind off of in order to build up a team to realistically challenge the gym leaders.

Thank you very much for the feedback! I'll be updating the wild Pokémon levels, especially at the beginning of the game, for the next update!

I also beat Bugsy and Whitney. The jump with their levels isn't as big as Falkner's so they weren't too bad. If you do tweak the wild pokemon levels I think the overall difficulty would be fine.

Oh I found a bug. So I am playing as Kris and when I use surf the character model turns into Ethan while surfing.
Oh sorry about that! I will fix this in version 3.3.4, probably tomorrow. Can you please send me your save file so I can save some time on my end?

It's located at C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Roaming\Pokémon Silver Chronicles\Game.rxdata

The Strength License doesn't seem to be working. My kingler should be able to move rocks since I even went as far as to teach it strength but it won't let me use it.

Can you give more details? Kingler can't learn Strength. But just having any Pokémon that can learn strength should be enough for you to move boulders around - you don't need to teach it. If that's the case, please share the Save file once again so I can check it.

It let me teach Kingler the strength TM, so that's most likely the issue. I'll boot up the game and try a different pokemon.

Okay on further testing milktank using strength works. THe issue is that Kingler randomly learns the strength TM but can't use it in the overworld.

I've been having a good time playing this game and have just beaten the Elite Four and Lance, and I am now re-fighting the gym leaders. the only issue I have with this is I can't store my money like you could in the Original, and that there are also no good places to level up at, especially since I can't get a lucky egg or don't know where to find it. If you could somehow add those, it'd make the game even better. and this game was not easy to beat to but I enjoyed the Challenge.
