Made with Pokémon Essentials v20.1
Introduction:Howdy! My name's Midnight. This is a project I've been working on for years at this point. Some of you might remember an older version of this game I posted a few years ago. That game, while very ambitious considering my skillset at the time, wasn't very good. It was buggy, maps and environments were open but barren, and the story didn't have a consistent throughline. In the years since, I've become infinitely better at using RPG Maker and Essentials and well as grown more accustomed to writing stories, so I decided to bring Legends of Aurora back and give it the treatment it always deserved. I hope you enjoy!
Project Description:
Legends of Aurora celebrates the Pokémon series' past while working toward a brighter future. Countless callbacks and references from the franchise's history enrich the new Region and setting with familiarity. At the same time, it emphasizes the core strengths of the Pokémon formula, such as exploration and world-building, and explores a more complex narrative focused on how the past affects people and the many ways people can change.
Plot Synopsis:
Legends of Aurora follows the journey of a young Trainer traveling through the recently settled Aurora Region. You will take on the role of either Ayden or Ava. Our protagonist originally had plans to work with their local Pokémon Professor, but instead joins a "super league", where the best Pokémon Trainers in the world are invited to participate. During their travels, our hero will discover the wrongdoings of Team Ace, who are reviving Shadow Pokemon. An encounter with a special experimental Riolu leads you to work together to stop Team Ace's schemes.

- A curated Regional Pokédex
- The return of Shadow Pokémon
- Several Quality of Life Features (Quicksave, multiple save slots, move relearning and nicknaming from the menu, etc.)
- A Hard Mode featuring revamped boss fights
- HMs are removed in favor of the HM Catalogue, a Key Item to aid in any progression needs
- A Quest Log to keep track of the main story and side activities
- Mid-battle dialogue to enhance battles
- Cinematic and expansive cutscenes

Q: Will you add/Why haven't you added (insert feature here) ?
A: My team and I likely decided that we didn't need the feature. This is only one game and one game doesn't need everything to be "good". If you want to try and add the feature you're looking for, by all means, try to do so yourself.
Q: My game crashed! What do I do?
A: Here's a few answers for you.
1. Did you read the Known Bugs file in the root folder? Is what's listed there similar to what happened to you? If so, we're aware and are trying to fix it.
2. Are you using Cheat Engine? If so, please do not bother me or my team about your problems. Cheat Engine and other similar programs have not and will never be endorsed by us.
3. Are you playing the game via Joiplay or Wine? If so, unfortunately, there's not much my team can do. Legends of Aurora and most Pokémon Essentials fangames are designed to run on Windows computers only.
If neither of the above apply to you, please send a detailed message describing what happened and how you triggered the crash on either the Eevee Expo forum or the Legends of Aurora Discord server.
Q: When will the next part of the game come out?
A: I can't say for certain. I want the next major content update, which will be Chapter, 3, 4, and 5 to releaase some time in 2026, but only time can tell.
Q: Am I allowed to stream/let's play this game?
A: Absolutely! All I ask is that you send a link to me in the Legends of Aurora Discord server or the Eevee Expo forum so I can watch it too!
