Glad you're enjoying the game, I'd like to ask how to feel about Sub-Abilities?

And for the shop and Stars & Strikes error, those have been fixed in the newest update
Also, activate windows

I think this is a really fun game and it feels pretty polished considering the short time limit! (allowing for the bugs that have now been mostly fixed). Some thoughts:

I really like the concept of the Sub-Abilities, and I think it's implemented well into the menus. I do think a lot of the Sub-Abilities are too niche or kinda useless though?

For example, I have just beaten the second leader and I have 4 Sub-Abilities that only effect Bug types, but by this point in the game I have so many better options than Beedrill and Ariados that I'm not really thinking of using any Bug types that could benefit from these Sub-Abilities.

It would also be useful to be able to see a description of the Sub-Abilities before they're applied? The only way I could find to actually see what they do was to temporarily apply them to a Pokemon (unless I'm being stupid and have missed a menu option somewhere, sorry if this is the case!)

I found it a bit strange that the trainers don't say anything to the player before battling (very minor problem). The gym leaders did though which was nice.

Also, has fairy been made weak to Bug? I couldn't find this change in any of the logs (again, sorry if it is somewhere and I've just missed it!)

Some of the battles have had really interesting strategies that are fun to come up with a way to beat. I struggled for a while with School Boy Luke's Swalot and it was fun to trial and error my way to eventually beating it!

I also really like a lot of the music choices you made, it would've been nice if the audios were looped though.

I'm glad you enjoy the Sub-Abilities, and thank Golisopod User for implementing them into the menus, my concept was worse.

And your comment on Sub-Abilities being too niche or kinda useless, I do have to kind of agree. I tried to make interesting ones that would work for certain Pokémon, but then I found myself using much better Sub-Abilities. It's the issue where I could make those Sub-Abilities more available, but then that results to already strong Pokémon being stronger instead of bring up the weaker Pokémon to their level.

I have seen a friend mention that he'd like to see the Sub-Abilities before being applied, and I didn't think about that until then since I would know what each Sub-Ability does. I'm hoping to add something that would let you see them in the future.

Originally each trainer was going to say something, but due to time, I wasn't able to.

My mistake not mentioning that, I did make Fairy weak to bug; as well as Ice resists Water, Grass, and Dragon; Rock resists Rock; and Water no longer resists Ice. I wanted Bug, Rock, and Ice to be stronger since they're usually the weaker of the types.

Everyone struggles with the Swalot fight, I've had to nerf that thing twice.

Glad you enjoyed the music choices, and as for looping, I don't know how to do that...

Aside from a few graphical issues and Galarian Rapidash not have any moves this was an amazing and perfect experience. I loved how the sub-abilities were not stingy and you got access to such great ability synergy and combos, and even had a few trainers utilize specific combos to hint at possibilities.

Idk if it was because of luck, if the sub abilities are given out randomly or if it was planned, but I heavily relied on a Malamar contrary wonderguard set, carried me to the end it was amazing.

I was genuinely shocked at how fun the game was and how amazing of an experience it all was considering the rather simple premise, the tools and utilities available to the player just made it so accessible I couldn't stop playing once I picked it up LOL.

I will say the overworld sprite for Serena bothered me, there was a minor alignment and graphical error I had to fix lol - also did no one on the team test playing as the female player? Because I went through the entire game like this.
[ x ] [ x ]

That and a few issues,
The ui was not able to properly display the text for abilities or sub abilities which made it difficult when there were new mechanics being introduced, that and the minor issue of having the sprites not be a proper resolution when being displayed. Further with the sub icon menu, there were issues with sub abilities where certain pokemon were unobtainable such as certain forms only accessible in battle like xerneas not unlocking their ability despite having the base form. The menu had a few hiccups where I unlocked different pokemon's sub abilities despite not owning the pokemon which caused minor issues in the list if and when I obtained the pokemon - that and I noticed a few abilities were tied to badges, but other abilities that weere designated as badge abilities had a different pokemon associated. Finally, there was an issue with the trainer who you can battle and test strats against, I was told I could run from the battle at any time, but I was not allowed to run lol. And when I reached the elite 4, I didn't have to fight any of the other trainers, and could skip straight to Diantha by interacting with the white teleporter.

Sub-abilities were EXTREMELY fun to play with, and I had a lot of fun playing through the mid-game (around the time I got 2 Slots). I will say and agree that the early fights were a little hard to tough through. Haxy matches coupled with strong consistent threats on enemy teams while we didn't have a lot of options to play with yet made some of these matches frustrating.

Around where I started getting better Pokemon and sub-abilities to play with, I started having more fun with the game. While I do enjoy the level of care that went into making the Abilities balanced against each other (to avoid any real Exodia combinations), I felt a lot of the sub-abilities (especially early) had a hard time working with each other, forcing a lot of my mons to sometimes just had a Sub-Ability that didn't do anything lol. I do also think some of them starting to become a little samey, with a lot of later sub-abilities being reskins of other ones for other types. I definitely liked the ones where they buff a Type in a fun in interesting way (Rock-type ones were fun).

The game also makes people go through multiple instances of choice paralysis, where you are offered so many options it becomes hard to pick any of them haha, this only kind of went into play when you started to unlock multiple teams of 6 super quickly combined with 3 sub abilities. I'm so glad this game doesn't have items because of that (i'd want to die lol).

Eventually, I did find an Exodia strategy (Volcarona + Heliolisk), and I did end up beating the whole game! This was a fun thought experiment for competitive battling, and I enjoyed it.

And yeah, I also noticed that early game there's not a lot of options but as you go on there's more, which I knew that was bound to happen due to how you acquire Pokémon in this game.

If you don't mind, could you show what that "Exodia strategy" was? I'm really curious

Had a great time with this game! The sub-abilities were a brilliant addition - looks like you were asking folks for feedback about how they liked em, and I guess there's a few small downsides like choice paralysis, but they were so fun to experiment and build some overpowered strategies with! I almost can't believe that you'd have doubts about this being fun, hahaha. This mechanic alone is a great accomplishment!

I did find a few exploits / "Exodia" strategies, borrowing Ranko's terminology, and they were really satisfying to pull off. Now, these range from what I imagine you intended - players experimenting to find broken combos and techniques and overcoming the game's challenges... to what I can only describe as AI abuse. I did use Volcarona a bit, but then I hit upon an extremely powerful strategy featuring Vivillon / Malamar. Ping on Discord if you want details - coming up with fun strats -is- the game, so I don't want to post anything here! I'm also really curious to hear about what other strategies people employed!

Critical feedback-wise, there's a few small polish issues like some events reverting your player sprite's gender and a few error screens for combinations of abilities, and not much of a story, but I think these are really minor. Feels like you set out to make a really player-involved, customizable, difficult battle experience, and you definitely succeeded!
