This game is a roguelike so it really can be as long or short as you want.
No offense, but this isn't really a roguelike. It's barely even a roguelite. Modern "roguelikes" are so far removed from Rogue and its actual genre that the average "roguelike" developer or fan would have a brain aneurysm from actually playing Rogue. There really ought to be a different genre name for these "rng as gameplay" pseudocasinos.

It more sounds like you have a problem with the roguelike genre in general and not my game. I just made the game I wanted to make and found the best term to fit what I made. 🤷‍♂️

I dislike roguelikes, but can respect actual ones in terms of raw mechanical complexity, modern "roguelikes" use luck and procgen as a substitute for any actual design. Calling a game a "Roguelike" barely says anything about it, due to how eroded the genre's gotten.
I'm a bit miffed that "roguelike in nothing but name" has been such a staple of the game jams, even ones with moderate actual effort put in wouldn't even qualify as a roguelite.

Obviously you have some frustration via your passion for the niche area of rougelike game creation. It's important to remember that feeback is most always subjective and may not always align with your own preferences, as it is not your project. Instead of the unhelpful commentary of definitions, you could be providing comments of how to improve their game to become a "true rougelike game" that would improve your overall opinion of their work. Additionally, if you're this passionate about creating a rogue-like game, I encourage you to pursue that passion and create your own roguelike game instead of this interaction.

This looks like quite the interesting project, although I must admit I am also quite curious about something; Since you've introduced more Future Paradox Pokemon as pre-evolutions, I am genuinely surprised you there isn't a Future Deino called "Iron Lacus" (Lacus being translated from Latin, meaning 'Apple' since I was trying to follow the naming scheme you had going and considering Jugulis is based on the throat, I was making Deino based on the Adam's Apple.) Or perhaps a Future Phanphy called "Iron Tire." Of course I can understand if that's too much work and a bit too nit-picky of me, but in truth I really like the concept you've made and was just curious to see it expanded upon and perhaps if the issue is just getting the pixel art/concept down, which makes a lot of sense. I hope you have a lovely day.

Update v1.4 is out!
The game should be a lot more playable now with a LOT less bugs, I keep saying that but also this is a complex system I'm trying my best here. There are still some issues but through my playing it is now possible!
