Pokémon Keishou sends you on a journey across the blissful paradise that is Kyujitsu Island.
The island is guarded by four Clans: Kusa and Mizu Clan are the Land Spirit Guardians,
while Netsu Clan is the Protector of Kazan in the west, and Yuki Clan is the Protector of Shimo in the east.
In the shadows, Kurai Clan is lingering - although suppressed to a small minority due to their past deeds, they are always scheming to overthrow the old order.
Since the current Lord's time has almost come, an uncertain age is upon the inhabitants of the island...

The Story

The Lord of the Elder is weak and of old age, no longer capable of leading and protecting the lands.
In times of insecurity, the land becomes unstable.
The Land Spirits are raging.
The ever resting Kazan Mountain is about to erupt.
While snowfall on Shimo Mountain intensifies.
The valley is on the verge of chaos between ice and fire.
The Elder Four are in uproar as well, trying to calm the lands each on their own.
To bring the lands to rest again, it requires leadership and composure.
As the Elder Cycle comes to an end, it is tradition to send the young descendants of Shison Village on their journey to find a new Keishou-sha - a successor to the throne.
where the strongest of them will rise to become the new Lord of the Elder and bring peace back to Kyujitsu Island!
Only who rises above all 8 Clan Leaders can become Lord, however, there are more mysteries surrounding the Path of Ascension!

4 Difficulty Settings (that you can switch at any time by visiting Ryuzaki's Lab!):
  • Regular Mode - Generally, the Regular Mode of the game is designed to be challenging already.​
  • Hard Mode - However, if you look for that extra spice, there is a Hard Mode, increasing levels of Trainer Battles and unique Wild Encounter Pokémon as well as modifying some key trainer battles to have additional mid-battle events! As a reward for beating all Clan Leaders and the Elder Four in Hard Mode, there is a special post-game quest to unveil!​
  • Novice Mode - If you are looking for a lighter experience, Easy Mode grants you two additional charm slots and two charms unique to this difficulty setting (charms can be turned on or off at any time!):​
    • Resistor Charm - Reduces damage from super effective attacks by 25%.​
    • STAB Charm - Further increases Same-Type Attack Bonus (STAB) by 25%.​
  • Classic Mode - like Novice Mode, but also removes almost all additional battle mechanics to make the game more accessible to people that don't enjoy the battling that much and want to enjoy other aspects of the game!​

Known Issues

  • Overworld sprite generation may cause the game to run choppy after a while - just give it a quick save and restart and you are fine again!​
  • In some places with many events, the Speed Up plugin will cause the game to run poorly. Slow down the game speed in those areas for a smoother performance.​
  • Dynamax sprites for Generation 9 Pokémon are not scaling properly.​
  • At some bridges, you end up "surfing on land" when interacting with a water tile while standing on/next to the bridge.​

About Me:

I started playing Pokémon when I was 6 years old: Pokémon Blue on my yellow Game Boy Color - oh boy those were the days! Since I always had a passion for game design, creating my own levels, maps and tracks since the old Amiga Days (be it Boulder Dash, The Settlers, Re-Volt or Warcraft 2/3, just to name the few that I remember from the top of my head), I always had the dream of connecting that passion with another passion of mine: Pokémon. I discovered Pokémon Essentials fully on chance during a chemistry class in my Bachelor's around 2014 by seeing somebody in class with his notebook, being more interested in creating cool maps in RPG Maker than actually listening to the class (haha!). At first, I was a bit intimidated to start my own project. Around 2016, I discovered Thundaga's absolutely awesome YouTube Tutorial Series, and from that point, my spark was ignited! For around 4 years, I worked on my first project, always expanding with new features I discovered and new contents provided by this awesome community. To be fair, this first project was quite basic, probably blown out of proportion and with a lot of very questionable game design choices. After a decent break, I took advice I read and heard to heart and instead of stuffing more and more content in one project, its time to close the book and start anew. I decided to start development of a new project, coming up with first sketches of the map and story in Summer of 2022, starting the actual work in RPG Maker in October. And after one year of really trying to sharpen my game design skills and pouring my heart and soul into this project, I am now very proud to share some of my creative work with the world (and not only with some selected friends) for the very first time in my life :)​

  • Fixed a bug that made Revelation Dance always be Flying Type on all Oricorio.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Kyujitsuan Salandit to turn into regular Salandit if it didn't know the ability Pastel Veil.
Balance & Modification
  • Stantler now learns Psyshield Bash at Level 25.
  • Switched locations of some items:
    • Chest #34 now contains N-Solarizer. Houndoominite was instead moved to its previous location close to Raid Den #20.
    • Chest #45 now contains N-Lunarizer (Leftovers from this chest was removed from the game).
    • Chest #48 now contains Metronome, while Black Sludge is therefore found in the item ball just east of it (where Metronome was found before).
  • Removed a one-way ledge in Kiri Forest that makes traversing back towards the north easier.
  • Wild Craggy Claws and Iron Observer can now hold Booster Energy (uncommon).
  • The chance for specific wild Pokémon to hold berries was increased from uncommon to common. In addition, plenty of berries have been added to specific Pokémon's wild held item pool as common drops. See ⁠"Berry and Poké Bowl Guide" on Discord or the Wiki for the full list.
  • Held items that increase damage of a specific type have been added to the following Pokémon:
    • Magnet: Electrice & Manectric
    • Soft Sand: Hippopotas, Hippowdon / Sandygast, Palossand (instead of Spell Tag)

Bugfixes
  • Urshifu's signature moves Wicked Blow, Surging Strikes and Storm Strikes are now properly classified as punching moves, benefitting from Punching Gloves (already implemented in a day-1 re-upload of v2.01).
  • Buying Ability Capsules in Akigawa Dojo now grants the correct item (already implemented in a day-1 re-upload of v2.01).
  • Pokémon Ranger Ghyst's Decidueye now doesn't start the battle in Battle Bond form anymore.
  • Petilil now properly evolves into Hisuian Lilligant when evolved outside on Miraijima.
  • The following moves no longer hit through Protect: Aqua Step, Bitter Blade.
  • Fixed Clan Leader Minato's Annihilape's moveset.
  • Iron Treads can now be found in the wild as intended (south of Futomura).
  • Fixed a bug that triggered the battle against Ichiro in Whirl Islands too early.
  • You will now receive Ogerpon's held item before she challenges you for a 2nd battle to avoid losing the held item.
  • Sneasler, Overqwil and Basculegion should now generate eggs with the proper pre-evolution forms when holding an Everstone.
  • Fixed a bug with a special move of the Akigawa Tournament's final reward.
Balance & Modification
  • Added a second Dynite Ore Trader in front of the Dynamax Adventures that trades Exp. Candy and Rare Candy (already implemented in a day-1 re-upload of v2.01).
  • Added Rare Candy to the Armorite Ore Traders in Akigawa Dojo (already implemented in a day-1 re-upload of v2.01).
  • The experience granted by Exp. Candy no longer scales with the Pokémon's level. Instead, they cannot be used if the Pokémon would exceed the current level cap based on the number of badges earned.
  • Added one more level cap to the game. The level caps now are as follows:
  • Level 50 with less than 4 badges
  • Level 70 with less than 6 badges
  • Level 85 with less than 8 badges
  • Level 97 until the "Mysteries of Miraijima" main quest has been completed
  • Added PP Max to the Armorite Ore Traders in Akigawa Dojo.
  • Added a second NPC for changing the difficulty inside Akigawa Dojo.
  • The Diancie Event Encounter now also heals itself by 25% when one of the Carbink faints (this will help trigger the "exhaust" event that allows catching it more consistently).
  • Modified some Max Raid Den Dynamax Crystal spawns:
  • Reshiram or Zekrom (depending on which one you caught during the story) can now be found in Den #23 in Sakyu Valley (was #24)
  • Yveltal can now be found in Den #24 in Sakyu Valley (was #23)
  • Craggy Claws can now be found in Den #17 in Kazan Passage (was #23)

New features
  • Terastallization has been updated to allow for Stellar Tera Type as well as Tera Forms (along with smaller modifications).
  • The game now allows for multiple save files. Furthermore, save files will now be located in the properly named folder "Pokémon Keishou" within "%appdata%", which will be automatically created the first time you launch the game. Make sure to move your old save files from "Pokémon Essentials v20.1" to this new folder. If you have multiple old save files, you can move them to the new "Pokémon Keishou" and rename time to "File A", "File B" etc.
  • A new NPC in Chushin City's Smithing District now allows you to change the type of Poké Ball your Pokémon is captured in.
Balance & Modification
  • Clan Leader Hanako:
    • Speed buffs now work properly at the start of every 3rd turn.
    • On Hard Mode, there is now a 50% chance that the opponent overcharges when dealing damage with an electric type attack, increasing attack and special attack by 1 stage each.
  • Clan Leader Minato's Pokémon now have a 15% (20% on Hard Mode) chance to endure the next attack (was 20/30%).
  • Clan Leader Masao:
    • Your Pokémon's attack or special attack stat is now reduced by two stages after every ice type attack, not only the first one.
    • Sunny weather will now be reinstated and buff both attack stats of his active Pokémon every 4th turn (was every 3rd).
    • Skeledirge's defense and special defense will now be raised by 1 stage each (was 2 stages each).
    • Enduring water type attacks now only occurs on Hard Mode. In addition, at the end of that turn, the opponent's Pokémon will restore 50% max. HP and raise its attack and special attack by 1 stage each.
  • Clan Leader Akane will no longer raise her Pokémon's evasion stats on switch in (except Sandslash, who will get a one stage raise instead of two). Instead, their evasion stat will be raised by one stage three turns after a new Pokémon has been switched in (two turns on Hard Mode).
  • Clan Leader Takeru's Gengar will now only raise ist evasion stat on Hard Mode by 1 stage after switch in (was 2 on all modes).
  • The Elder Four battles are now slightly easier (does not apply to Hard Mode):
    • Sorano: When using an electric or ice type move, opposing Pokémon don't endure the move anymore. Tailwind is set up every 7th turn (was every 6th).
    • Ikuto: The chance for a random stat boost at the start of each turn is now 20% (was 30%).
    • Chiyoko: Reflect and Light Screen are set up every 8th turn (was ever 7th).
    • Ryuzaki: The Tailwind set up by Rayquaza now lasts 2 turns (was 4).
    • Orochi: Switching in Eternatus no longer suppresses the selection of an aura buff every 4th turn (also on Hard Mode).
  • The Zekrom & Reshiram Event Encounters now increase their defense and special defense by 1 stage each at the start of the battle.

    • Your starting choices can now hold either Assault Vest, Life Orb, Leftovers, Bright Powder, Expert Belt, Wide Lens, Mirror Herb or White Herb (5% each), Lum Berry (10%) or Sitrus Berries (20%), and can no longer hold Oran Berries.
    • In Dynamax Adventures, the shiny probability is now rolled individually for every Pokémon, instead of the entirety of all captured Pokémon to choose from at the end of the run.
    • Made a slight change to the first Dark Catacombs map that allows access to treasure chests after the switch was pulled the first time.
    • Added a key to the Warp Cavern map so the Treasure Chest can be looted even if it is locked.
  • Included level caps; depending on the player's badge progress, their Pokémon can not exceed a certain level as follows:

  • The General Goods Trader in Chushin City now properly hands out 1 Feather per 3 Honey (all but the Health Feather granted 3 for 3).

  • Some battle mechanics that triggered after every time the opponent took damage were changed to being triggered when the player selects a damaging move to avoid unintended punishment for using multi-hit moves.

I'm already making some progress with this game! It's fun, and I have given a few bug reports on the Reddit post!

Also i'm struggling to catch Panpour. I haven't gone after pansage yet, and I caught Pansear. I just can't seem to sneak up behind him.

Hello it is that TheIrisKriss from reddit for someone reason I'm having hard time trying to get my images to post on an image hosting site so I'm just got do it here because it allows for images the first one with the oricorio was me actually trying to encounter and it refused to let me froze up I heard the battle music I waited like 2-3 minutes and there was just no change I just heard the battle music and was staring at the bird I couldn't move or anything like that basically everything kind of just froze movement wise and the other 1 is going to be a random grass encounter which I basically the same thing happened everything I heard the battle music I waited a couple minutes I think it's having some sort of issue shifting from the overall to the actual battle itself

There was somebody on Reddit that said that they were able to get it to work on the joyplay i might probably contact them and let's see if they've had any issues but on my computer it's working just fine it's actually quite fun difficulty was a little bit more Skewed than I thought for normal mode with that aroma ladies ai on route one with her oricorio that kicked my butt
I also had a issue not so much as it's more of a graphical glitch next to the Berry merchants in the major hub town the very first house with the young lady in front of it going through the door your character actually goes through the wall next to it on the left which was kind of weird but nothing of bad happened or anything like that just a graphical sort of thing

Thanks for your feedback! Unfortunately I had no time at all to try it on JoiPlay, so I cannot say anything about compatibility or where those issues you encounter might come from. As for the wall glitch, I will check that and fix it, thanks! :)

Here some pic So I tested it again just because I was growing some berries in that area and I actually the wall I must have walked through the wall and utilized it to go through the door because I was kind of half asleep when I played hit at that time so

I'm not sure if I've bugged my game but I can't find the elemental monkeys at all as I saw pansear (I think) once and it ran off and nothing since. Then also the quest with the miltank and tauros says about the members being in the fields south but having checked everywhere can't seem to find them either

In response to this there is definitely something wrong with my save as
the kurai clan members should be in the grass south of the hut for the cattle quest but they aren't there and I've spoken to the guy and got the quest so not sure what's going on there

This brings me further to the elemental monkey one probably be bugged too
as looking at the maps for yosei woods the pansear after disappearing originally should be appearing in the bottom left of the map

In case your wondering how I know this I managed to open the maps on RPG maker XP to check the events however I don't know what the script and stuff should look like to see why it's not working

It won't let me remove the purple gem so I can move it to the right place to unlock the mechanism at the beach. It says I remove it and it is in my bag but the gem still shows on screen. And will not let me put any other color there.

First of all, thanks for sharing your feedback! Let me give you some hints below that might help you solve the quests, I think you just haven't found the solutions yet :)

The Kurai members in Noyanagi Plains are hiding within the grass. Walking on the correct spot will trigger an event where you see something moving through the grass. You might want to use the Repels you received earlier (or craft some yourself!).

There is one more step before Pansear appears in the spot to the left :) after the first encounter, he walks off to the south, so maybe give it another look there ;)

I am pretty confident both quests work just fine! In case you are still having trouble (or if you solved it and everything is fine), please let me know!

I will look into this (however I will not get to this until probably tomorrow evening MET). Can you tell me which socket you placed the purple gem on?

For those who are on joiplay to fix the freeze issue you need to download the later ver of rpg maker plugin (1.20.25)

I managed to quickly fix the bug and upload the latest version 1.03 tonight for you - even if your Purple Gem is currently stuck on the socket already, you should now be able to pick it up and solve the puzzle - you might just end up with a spare Purple Gem in the enTha
