Version 1.1

To experience Hito: A Broken Story it is recommended you have played Pokemon: Broken before
but it is NOT required. Everything will still make sense and will still be an enjoyable experience

Story

A man named Gregory who used to be in an evil group called "The Watchers" has moved on from it hoping to become
a better person and a more positive force for good. Together with Looker and someone else, they will try
to take down the Watchers and help Gregory move past his old days and the actions he made back then.

Gameplay

1 hour of content: And that's if you know what you're doing haha! The gameplay was the most important thing for me while making Hito
and I wanted to have an interesting spin on the normal Pokémon formula. In this case, the battle system is akin to a roguelike of sorts,
though still a linear storyline where you
don't completely reset your progress if you die, just in how the battles themselves operate.
So yes, the battles are completely in the overworld!

Version 1.1 is out!
Purely some little bug fixes and QOL of life things. I mistyped how much health potions gave you so I fixed that while also fixing all the little nitty gritty bugs that existed and hopefully squashed them! Though if you play the game and find any bugs big or small, please report them so this game can become as bugless as possible! Also put your thoughts of the game here if you play it so I can see what you think!

Well I just finished playing through the demo!
some thoughts:
I imagine you'll see most of my thoughts in detail in the vod, but just to get the key points down here:

-The writing feels like a massive improvement, in many areas. The dialogue felt great and hit the tones that they should've. Light hearted stuff felt fun and light hearted, intense moments felt serious. It was good stuff and the best writing I've seen from you. This story is the most i've been invested in your stories, and I'm really looking forward to what is to come.

-Gameplay was great, really nice single player experience. I'm very much looking forward to having more customizability with equipment as the game progresses. The bosses felt well done. Gengar is a near perfect boss fight for this system in my opinion. Loved it, I just felt like it had a tiny bit too much health. Luxio also felt cool, it has a really interesting moveset with the diagonal dashes, the light changing, the bolts striking the spots on the floor. It might just have to be tweaked a bit because there were times in that fight where it felt like it was just letting me continuously attack it.

So yeah! Honestly great stuff, if I have to give feedback I think I just have to say that maybe the basic enemies could be unique. The whole real difference between any of them is how much hp they have and how much damage they do. It would be cool if maybe some of them had slightly different attacks than the basic "tackle when next to you" attack. But I do get that going through the effort of giving basic enemies their own attacks is tough and complex, and this is a jam game. So yeah

Be proud Andy! This is good stuff!

Hey! Glad you enjoyed the demo!

I’m glad you seemed to enjoy it especially since we have a lot of plans to expand from where we were, since as you could tell we wanted the standard enemies to have attacks but because of how last minute we had to make the battle system so corners we had to cut and we hope to glue those corners back on.

But don’t worry, HP and attack stats will be tweaked a bit for everyone since I have an idea of what to do with this system now that I’m seeing other people play it. Since I don’t want any Upgrades to feel required since u can only have 2 on at once. So stuff like attack, and health will probably be separate from the upgrades.

Other than that, I’m glad you enjoyed and can’t wait for you to see the rest!
