Good day everyone! Pokémon Espionage is officially recruiting!

Pokémon Espionage is a heavily story-based game that is set to take place from the Kanto region to the Sinnoh region in over 15 "Episodes" or parts that will be released over time, along with any necessary patches. The game is hopefully going to have weeks worth of content and game time! It is a very ambitious -but not quite overly ambitious- project with a very executable plan.

This project is done on Pokémon Essentials and has a huge plan set in place, and we need more members for the development team to reach the heights we're hoping to reach!

Below is some of the info you might want to know in terms of the game plan overview and the positions we're looking to fill:

The game uses Elite Battle: DX (EBDX) by Luka S.J. ,as well as many other plugins by various talented people, and runs on Essentials v19.1 at the moment. We have a head of mechanics development (who's doing a brilliant job already) and are looking to fill out that department with many more people who possess ideas for interesting game mechanics that could help the game move in a better direction!

Some of the already finished mechanics include: New Terrains, New Abilities and New Moves
Who we're looking for in this department: More people to help in developing new moves and abilities, give thoughts on changes to already-made stuff, and provide insight as to what battle conditions would be appropriate for specific events within the game.

I myself am currently in charge of scripts but I'm not the best out there, so this is one position that we really need help in and would appreciate the aide of anyone who has a grip on Essentials v19.1 (RPGXP + mkxp-z 2.2.0) scripts, and any understanding in the Ruby coding language!

Some of the already finished codes include: New Terrains, New Abilities, New Moves, Modified Transitions, New Items and Features that replicate Non-Pokémon Games (for example, Cross Examination in Ace Attorney)
Who we're looking for in this department: More people to help in developing new moves and abilities, give thoughts on changes to already-made stuff, and help in developing said Non-Pokémon Game features.

We currently have one member of the balance team (the same one who's heading the Mechanics department) whose efforts were really appreciated in the development of some brand new custom Pokémon we're planning to add, but we also need more members so we can achieve the potential end-goal we want from this department: A level of difficulty that is close to Kaizo hacks yet doesn't discourage the casual player!
If we end up with a product that isn't exactly on the level of Kaizo hacks but is reasonably difficult and interesting for nuzlocke modes, that'd be more than enough!

Some of the already finished balancing works include: Battles optimized for difficulty, Level caps, Fakemon development, New Mega Evolutions development
Who we're looking for in this department: More people to help in optimising the game's difficulty (ranging from wild encounters to boss battles), develop stats abilities etc for more Fakemon and Mega Evolutions, and work out power levels if possible.

We have a head of story development at the moment who primarily works on dialogues and character personality (which are extremely important aspects of the game, considering the canon characters need to be accurate to what they were already shown as in official Pokémon games) but we're still very much looking for more people to build up this department in, not only dialogues and character personalities, but also in story development. Given the game is heavily story-based, this department is of major importance!

Some of the already finished story works include: Some finished dialogue, some finished storyline (with gaps to be filled in between events), some character personalities
Who we're looking for in this department: More people who can interpret a character's dialogue accurately, make up story events with substance and consistency, keep us honest with the canon Pokémon lore when possible.

Here's another important department!
Pokémon battle sprites will alternate between animated and static, but they're all going to be the BW versions which, as you know, are still pixelated.
However, with overworld sprites and almost everything else, we're ditching pixels as much as we can and we're attempting to move to smooth graphics! Why is that?
Firstly, that silky-smooth simplistic feel in design almost always hits the right spots!
Secondly, when all graphics are done in a specific art style, it is infinitely easier to manipulate them to fit whichever role we need to fill!
Thirdly, they're much easier to work!
I myself am currently in charge of the art of the project, but it is a very big role for only one person to fill, so we need more people to fill this department!
As seen below in the screenshots, we will be using a touch of minimalism with character sprites, both in overworld and in closeups. If you're good at tracing/drawing with Adobe Illustrator, you may just be perfect for this role!

Some of the already added sprites and art: Some trainer arts (Done in illustrator, mostly the same going forward for ease of access, but open to changes in that regard), Sprites made by artists not affiliated with the project with some modification by us

Who we're looking for in this department: Spriters, people skilled with photoshop (minimal work with this one, mostly shiny reworks), more people who can draw out characters using adobe illustrator or in a format similar enough to GameFreak's.

Honestly, music is a very underrated aspect of good games. A lot of people appreciate soundtracks for what they offer to games but not nearly enough people feel that impact! That's not the case here!
We're putting a big emphasis on the game's audio and music, and we've already gotten permission from a bunch of talented music artists to use their soundtracks and remixes in Espionage!
The perfect people for this department would either be people who know how to rework/edit already done music, can create tracks that resemble a specific style we're going for, or are experts in working sound and can offer solutions to transition between the various different styles of audio in the game!

Some of the already added: Music from official Pokémon games or other Non-Pokémon games when applicable, Tracks by well-known Pokémon musical artists, SFX from all over the internet
Who we're looking for in this department: People who can compose or edit tracks

All of the work and documents are shared in the Discord Server, you gain a developer role within that server if you do join the team, granting you access to the development chats!

If none of the above applies to you but you still want to give your ideas, test the game versions before official release and/or follow the project's development in general, we'll still be glad to have you in the server!

Here's a little nudge!

We're still seeking for Pokémon spriters, character designers, Ruby developers (even if only for Battle AI), narrative writers, and composers.

We're getting close to releasing the official demo! This project's plan is rather ambitious, but it's summed up (without spoilers) on the Project Overview Page.

If you'd like to learn more or express your interest in joining the development team, I'm generally accessible on Relic Castle and Discord. Please let me know if you have any other preferred ways of contact.

Thank you for your time.
