Summary/Intro: Welcome to the Eraetine region, a region unlike any other in the Pokémon World. Pokémon of all flavors and backgrounds congregate throughout the area. Lore and myths are whispered in the dead of night - the clock ticks. 18 gyms lay ahead to be conquered while a sinister sort of darkness festers, waiting for the time to devour Eraetine. What is right and what is wrong? Who is good and who is bad? That is ultimately up to you to decide, dear player. What secrets are the people you meet holding? Can you trust them? What kind of person are you? Will you ignore the plea and flee? Or will you stand your ground and defy the forces that lay in the shadows? The web continues to spin, little fly. Unlike other regions, not anyone is able to obtain the pokedex and set off on their adventure - only select applicants of young adults are able to receive Pokémon and adventure out of their hometown. A process of which the Pokémon Professor must deem an applicant worthy of surviving in Eraetine. Are you worthy, little one?

MC's Background: Becoming a Pokémon trainer for the MC in Eraetine is a valuable path as well as a means to leave Terythia island to go on an adventure, even to send money back to their family. Unlike the other regions in the Pokémon world, children are not able to wander around with Pokémon beyond their home area due to the Bairn Massacre a few years ago. Only those that the Pokémon Professor has deemed to have a higher chance of survival from the pool of applicants are able to be licensed trainers with a pokedex. While pursuing documenting any new Pokémon, a trainer can choose whatever route they deem fit with the idea in mind that the only way they can get stronger by progressing with the League Initiative for Pokémon obedience. However, most trainers don’t follow through after a few gym battles - returning the pokedex as it is a privilege, not a right in this region.

Introduction:
Hey everyone! This is my first time attempting a Pokémon fangame, I have a lot to learn and I welcome it greatly. I’ve gotten a few people to help out, but we’re still in need of more people. We currently are a team of 5, but the more the merrier - teamwork makes the dreamwork. This game is mainly a casual project because I understand that we all have lives and things do come up. I don’t want the game to go from a hobby to a job for us; just something we can all enjoy and such. I won't be putting deadlines because I feel like that'll burn us out badly and then interest in the game will be lost, so really it's a "when you can" kind of thing. We’re still in the pixel art phase for the game before we get into mapping, story making, and planning out events, but we have completed a few things/in progress:

Here's a couple more sprites I've completed! These are among the others battle NPC's I've made for Chapter 1. For the Angler, I couldn't really do much of an edit since he was already perfect. I just made the line for his fishing rod happen more? Idk, he was too good in my eyes.

I have a good amount of sprites finished, I'll just be doing slight touch up, but I'll be sprinkling them in the thread with each bump :)

(Edit) I've decided that I will make a little edit for the fisherman... more to come later

I've also added the rough draft of the map I have - ShortyJorgy is currently working on finalizing a map... well, most likely multiple maps for each island/mainland. I've also added more background on the Eraetine region and the MC :)
