A small demo of an interesting pachirisu-focused concept that can evolve into a charming game. Also, who wouldn't like an Ice form of Shinx?
Thoughts:
- was that a lowered-pitch pachirisu sound on the title screen? Or was I really that lucky? xD
- the first map looks organic but is a bit on the big side
- route map looks great
- Dorlant's map has a nice overall structure, and the placement of buildings makes sense. It could use some variety and some small stories here and there, e.g. a small park, a place where grass doesn;t grow etc
- While blocking the cave's entrance with a rock is ok, blocking the checkpoint's entrance with a rock feels a bit strange. Wouldn't they have cleared out a couple of random rock smash rocks?
- your mapping gets better with each map I see, did you begin mapping the game's maps with the first one the player arrives at? If yes, then well done, you've progressed in a small amount of time
- I liked the lab map, though it felt just a bit bigger than normal
- perhaps put some shadows under the NPCs? (either manually or with a plugin)
- there are some typos here and there, and full stops are missing from some sentences
- starting with heal balls is really convenient, good choice
- I liked wild mon variety
- when interacting with nevermeltice, the game says shinx changed forms (yet also evolved), so is the one or the other? It changed forms, right?
- I was expecting ice riolu to learn an ice type move relatively soon
- Let's see how you'll handle the whole pachirisu-finding thing! It can make for some unique puzzles, and interesting pachi stories.
- I liked the jokes (WHY IS A COPY OF SUN AND MOON IN THE TRASH? ~~because it deserves it~~, nah, making a game isn't easy so let's cut them some slack)
- The gym idea is very unique
- Absibling's battle sprites look good, OW sprites might need some small adjustments, they're too bright and without strong outlines I think?
- Gym map looks gorgeous, I like the little touches here and there
- shouldn't the man garbed in giovanni's clothes battle you right when you get close to him, since the trash can shouldnt be accessible if you havent battled him yet? Be careful not to set his "sight" to more than 1 tile, (or 0 I don't remember)
- an umbreon feels like a bit too much for a gym trainer! Especially when said trainer can use a potion too!
- I like Absister as a character already! Tho tell her mirror B's got more style (and better manners) than her.
- Ice Luxio looks LOVELY!
- You made this in under 18 days? Well done.
Bugs:
---MAJOR----
- the player is able to ignore the lab and walk all the way to the next town without a pokemon. I've reached Dorlant with no mon, no encounters and no battles! Include a big-width event or multiple events to prevent the player from leaving the map before they get the starter from the lab
- Right after entering the gym, and heading back out (on my no-mon run) the game congratulated me for finishing the demo. Don't know if this is related to the no-mon run, or if you forgot to implement a switch/variable check on the event's next page to see if the player had finished the gym first.
- If you start your game and load your last savefile after the aforementioned bug, the game exits to the title screen, and if you load it again, you're stuck in a never ending start-load-exit loop. IMPORTANT: Happens even if you begin a new game too! So I'm stuck irregardless of whether I continue or start a new game! I had to delete my savefile to play the game again.
- If you lose to the fabulous Absister, the fight insta-begins upon entering the map
---Minor---
- leftmost corner of the nevermeltice map, both all the way to the north and all the way to the west has visible black edges (btw could you include route map names showing?)
- right-hand side stairs to the big house in the first map don't work and no message indication you shouldn't climb them is shown
- flower pots' upper part has no tile priority, so the player appears above them
- the nevermeltice's pixel density is tiny, should be resized to x2
- right before you enter Dorlant, on the right hand side, the trees lack their leftside tile parts
- fence tiles have grey shadows, instead of transparent
- the guy behind the desk next to the trash cans doesn't say anything when interacted with, did you forget to set the tile to the special "counter" setting?
- VIP pass guy pushes you down even if you talk to him from any direction. Passing in front of him when he looks to the left isn't required.
- Gym isn't using gym music (just a nitpick)
- Gym leader winning event feels like it's "moving" too fast, the dialogue should be a bit longer, and perhaps the gym leader should face away from the player after giving pachi back (to denote frustration) and then look back at the player.

Hey, sorry for late reply lol, i havent gone on rc since upload.
For your thoughts (in order):
-i didnt change the titlescreen at all except for the image. i didnt even know there was a secret sound >.<
-yeah i kind-of got that feeling too, ill be compressing them together more.
-thanks
-i didnt have time to add any story so that why everything locked and boring. i like the park idea, since its a small town.
-i need a quick roadblock so i quickly just placed rocks there.
-yes i did go from the starting area up. thanks <3
-i wanted the house big enough for a family and 6 pachirisu but i didnt neglect the hallway. i agree its too big.
-sure! i can do that.
-i do type pretty quickly and make alot of errors. i usually catch them but there will always be a slip up.
-i feel like its needed in any game really. perfect starter item.
-i tried to stay basic except for riolu which makes the gym a whole lot easier.
-yes, its supposed to be a form change.
-do you mean ice shinx? i remember giving him powder snow early on but looking at the pbs now it must not have changed it back. i had to work from a backup at somepoint.
-i plan to give all the pachirisu their own personality, or try too. ive got some ideas for puzzles aswell.
-i needed dialogue it thats the 1st thing that came to mind. i thought it was funny, i might change it.
-thanks i tried to make a place absister would thrive in.
-i see what you mean. they would fit alot better not so bright.
-thnx gotta keep it interesting
-i wanted him hiding in the corner being secretive but i didnt want the player to just walk up to the bin without a fight so i made it the shortest range. i could go higher.
-that didnt accure to me. i wanted something unique to him, ill change that.
-i like her too!
-i did forget to add luxio and luxrays backsprite but im glad you like him!
-thanks again! i tried to not go too fast.
Buggies:
-i thought i added that but i must have removed it.
-oh. i didnt test that sorry.
-oops that shouldnt happen, ill fix that thanks.
-i thought i got all the black but must have missed some. i can definitely add route names aswell.
-ill block those off since the stairs inside would actually block the door.
-easy fix, must have missed it
-never melt ice was a bit of a place holder. itll be some sort of ice crystal
-theres always the trees xd
-shadows will be easy fix aswell.
-i used debug to clip through the wall and test him but forgot to make it accesible for the player. he only sells expensive freshwater tho.
-ah i see, that would look weird
-no worries lol, i just needed any music
-yeah she does kind of give up after 1 sentance. ill give her more dialogue. turning away from the player sounds great for the scene aswell.
