My Budget (MONEY): 10 dollars an hour. We can discuss payment once you let me know that you're interested in the project.
Disclaimer: Everything here is subject to change. Certain functions are not necessary to have in the game, so if you lack a certain skill, don't worry; perhaps we can discuss and work around it. I encourage you to ask me questions if there's anything here that sounds confusing. Thank you for your time.
Contents: Pokemon Differences, Quick facts, Type Matchups, Game Functions, Glossary, How to Play, Pokemon Stats, Move Mechanics.
POKEMON DIFFERENCES
-More than one ability on some pokemon at a time.
-A 7th primary stat: Agility (evasiveness renamed).
-Most attacks will have their properties changed (Example: Flamethrower will no longer give Burn. Burn does not exist. Accuracy of most moves will be adjusted.
-Can’t think of anything else at the moment. Just ask before you program something. Think of this as a successor to Pokemon Stadium, not a simple copy and paste project.
QUICK FACTS:
-2 Player game (Multiplayer)
-Barebones online multiplayer connection (depending on how much money it costs. Not necessary if it's not in your skillset).
-Background music (I will supply it).
-Move animations (If you can handle it).
-Numbers (Example: HP) cannot go below zero.
-The power of an attack higher than zero will always deal at least 1 damage if it hits.
-Controller Support (Not necessary if it's not apart of your skillset).
-Game is to be accessible on all kinds of computers, including laptops and chromebooks (if you're not equipped to do this, don't worry. I can live without it working on a chromebook).
-Game Title: -To Be Determined-. This is what the title screen will say when the game is booted up.
-When players are selecting the pokemon for their team, the pokemon list will be in numerical order.
-1st player will choose their pokemon team first (2nd player will have to turn around to prevent cheating). Same system Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2 used.
-There is no restriction on how many of the same Pokemon can be used (Example: I can have 3 Charizard and my opponent can also have 3 Charizard).
-Number of Pokemon characters to choose from for battle: 100
-When I get more money I’d like to work with the same developer to continue adding things to the project, like more pokemon, moves, and adjust the game if needed.
-Number of attacks each pokemon can select from during a battle: Varies by pokemon.
-All pokemon that will be in the first draft (season 1) of the game: Charizard (shiny), Mega Charizard X (shiny), Charmeleon, Serperior, Gliscor, Eternatus (Shiny), Zeraora (shiny), Zoroark, Naganadel, Primarina, Mimikiyu, Partner Pikachu, Raichu, Snorlax, Zacian, Zamazenta, Galarian Ponyta, Tyranitar, Reshiram, Wishiwashi (schooling form: Giant Whale), Mega Blaziken, Mega Pidgeot, Partner Eevee, Flareon, Jolteon, Vaporeon, Umbreon, Espeon, Leafeon, Glaceon, Sylveon, Pichu, Mega Venusaur, Blastoise, Braixen, Onix, Mega Steelix, Tyrantrum, Aurorus, Mew, Arceus, Lycanroc (Dusk), Zygarde, Totodile, Squirtle, Ivysaur, Jigglypuff, Dragonair, Dragonite, Salamence, Floatzel, Weavile, Alolan Sandslash, Vespiquen, Tepig, Grovyle, Ninjask, Mega Gengar, Haunter, Mega Raquaza, Alolan Raichu, Riolu, Scyther, Lugia, Sharpedo, Gabite, Garchomp, Lycanroc (Midnight), Ash-Greninja, Rhydon, Wartortle, Snivy, Oshawott, Muk, Donphan, Staraptor, Torterra, Gigalith, Krookodile, Noivern, Melmetal, Lapras, Sliggoo, Mega Beedrill, Primeape, Kingler, Clefairy, Floette, Mega Mawile, Mega Diancie, Hariyama, Mienshao, Guzzlord, Pheromosa, Gigantamax Charizard, Arbok, Meowth, Persian, Misdreavus, Regigigas.
-The pictures/in-game sprites representing all the Pokemon will be sent in by me for each individual pokemon. The size of the pictures must be consistent, equal to each other.
-The layout of the battle screen will be similar to generation 3 (Pokemon Emerald).
-The blue experience (EXP) bar below the health of player 1 will be repurposed as an SP (Stamina Point) meter for using moves. Second player will also have their SP meter showing under their HP (Hit Points/Health) meter.
TYPE MATCHUPS: The types on the right are attacking. The types at the top are defending. I may make minor adjustments to this chart over time.
GAME FUNCTIONS:
-Press the A button or Start button to exit the title screen to continue into the game.
-After the title screen is the list of all pokemon for player 1 to choose to make their team.
-Pressing A on a pokemon will show the summary/stats of the pokemon just like in Pokemon Stadium (HP, SP, Defense, Special Defense, Speed, Evasion, Attacks, Abilities, Rank, Type (Element/Attribute), picture of the pokemon, Name of the pokemon, “yes or no” if you want to register the pokemon. Press A to confirm Yes or No. Press B to cancel out of the pokemon’s summary.
-While on the summary screen of a pokemon, you can press Left or Right in order to hover over the pokemon’s abilities and attacks. Pressing A while hovering over said stat will put up an overlay displaying a detailed summary of the ability or attack. Pressing B will close the detailed summary.
-A pokemon cannot be registered if it would surpass your rank limit.
-After player 1 registers all their pokemon for their team, they can press “Yes” or “No” to confirm the team or cancel the team (cancelling the team would remove the last pokemon chosen, allowing them to reselect”.
-Pressing Start prematurely will make the game ask the player if they would like to confirm the pokemon registered as their team (if they only want one pokemon on their team or less pokemon than the Rank limit).
-If the a player selects a pokemon that fulfills the Rank limit (100 Rank limit), the game will ask to confirm the team of registered pokemon for battle.
-After player 1 confirms their team, it’s player 2’s turn.
-After player 2 confirms their team, the battle will begin, taking them to the battle screen with one pokemon on each side. The first pokemon on each side is the first pokemon they registered while choosing their pokemon beforehand.
-When a pokemon is defeated, the player with the defeated pokemon is shown an overlay screen (or new screen) displaying all the pokemon in their party. The player must select which pokemon to send in next by pressing A on it. The game will ask to confirm your choice with “Yes” or “No” before it is sent out.
-When one player loses all their pokemon, the screen will go black and white words will say “Player ___ Wins!”. After pressing A or B to exit the result screen, the game will ask if you want to “Battle Again?” or “Register New Pokemon”. “Battle Again” will restart the battle from the beginning with the same pokemon out in front. “Register New Pokemon” will force player 1 and player 2 to reregister their pokemon and reconfirm their teams.
GLOSSARY:
-Super Effective: Multiplying a move’s damage x2 or x4 if the target’s typing is weak to the typing of the attack.
-Not Very Effective: Multiplying a move’s damage by x0.5 or 0.25 if the target’s typing is strong against the typing of the attack.
-Ineffective: Multiplying a move’s damage x0 if the target’s typing is immune to the typing of the attack.
-Abilities: Passive attributes that are always active and have various effects.
-Damage: The amount of a pokemon’s HP that is lost.
-Accuracy: A hidden stat. 100% universally for all pokemon. Is calculated when determining if a pokemon’s attack will hit. Some Status Moves/Abilities may be able to reduce accuracy.
-Status Moves: Attacks that do zero damage with a higher chance of causing an after effect to the opponent than a usual power based Attack.
-Critical Hit Rate: A hidden stat. 0% universally for all pokemon. Is calculated when determining if the pokemon’s attack will do critical damage (2x more damage) to the opponent if the attack makes contact. Some Status Moves/Abilities moves may be able to increase Critical Hit Rate.
-Special Attacks: Attacks that are defended against using the opponent’s Special Defense stat.
-Physical Attacks: Attacks that are defended against using the opponent’s Defense stat.
-HP (Hit Points): The Pokemon is defeated when the HP number reaches zero.
-Defense: The power subtracted from the enemy’s Physical Attack.
-Special Defense: The power subtracted from the enemy’s Special Attack.
-Speed: The pokemon with the highest speed will most likely take their turn first that round.
-Evasiveness: The percentage each pokemon has that will determine if the enemy’s attack will miss (the chance of causing a “Dodge”).
-Rank: The cost of a pokemon. That Rank number will be a cost subtracted from the Rank Total (100). The weaker the pokemon, the lower its Rank--meaning the lower the Rank of your pokemon the more pokemon you can have on your team. Vice Versa if your pokemon are high Rank.
-Status Ailments: Poison, Stun, Freeze, Faint, Sleep, Confused.
-Poison: 1/16th of the pokemon’s max HP is lost after their turn. This can cause Faint if 1/16th or less of max HP is left. Poison lowers the pokemon’s Speed and Evasiveness by 5%.
-Stun: The pokemon cannot use an attack during their turn, for one turn. Switching pokemon is permitted.
-Freeze: The pokemon cannot use an attack during their turn. Switching is not permitted. The pokemon has a 10% chance to thaw out at the start of their turn, before their attack. Each turn will have an increased 10% chance to thaw out before their attack (Example: Turn 1 Frozen- 10% chance of thaw, turn 2 would be 20% chance, turn 3 would be 30% chance, and so on.
If the frozen pokemon is attacked and would be damaged, it takes 0 damage and is thawed out of the ice. However, the pokemon forced out of ice gets the “Stun” Status Effect. Frozen pokemon cannot dodge. The frozen pokemon can use a fire move while frozen. If a fire move is used while frozen, the pokemon will thaw out. Ground-type moves cannot be avoided while frozen.
-Faint: The Pokemon can no longer battle for the rest of the game and must be switched out with a new pokemon immediately. Faint occurs when the pokemon’s HP reaches 0.
-Sleep: The pokemon cannot use an attack during their turn. Switching pokemon is permitted. If the sleeping pokemon is damaged, it will wake up immediately. Sleeping pokemon cannot dodge. The pokemon will wake up guaranteed before their attack after they’ve been asleep for 5 of their turns prior (Example: Wake up guaranteed on their 6th turn). The pokemon has a 33% chance to wake up on their turn, before their attack. Ground-type moves cannot be avoided while asleep.
-Confused: The confused pokemon has a 50% decrease in evasiveness. The confused pokemon has a 50% chance to use one of their attacks by random on their turn. The other 50% chance will cause them to hit themself confusion (1/8th health lost). Switching pokemon is permitted. Switching out a confused pokemon will remove the confusion. Confusion lasts for 5 of the confused pokemon’s turns. They will snap out of confusion immediately on the 6th turn, before their attack.
-Major Status Ailments: Only one of these can be active on a pokemon at a time. These are permanent and never go away unless certain conditions are met. List: Freeze, Poison, Faint, Sleep.
-Minor Status Ailments: These can be active on pokemon already experiencing a major status ailment. These go away if the pokemon is switched out. List: Stun and Confusion.
-Attack: Moves pokemon can use inside the Fight menu. Each attack has an SP cost.
-SP (Stamina Points): The amount of stamina a pokemon has. If all attack’s SP cost are greater than the pokemon’s SP remaining, they can only use Struggle.
-Struggle: The only attack a pokemon can use if they do not have sufficient SP to use their other Attacks. Struggle can only be used if the pokemon doesn’t have sufficient SP for other Attacks.
-Switch: Changing your current battling pokemon with a different pokemon on your team. Switching takes your turn and makes your opponent go next. Your opponent’s turn after your switch will end the round. The returned pokemon regains 50 HP and 10 SP.
-Turn: A player’s chance to fight or switch.
-Fight: Select this to take you to the Attack menu of the pokemon you have currently battling
-Round: After each player takes 1 turn, that counts as a round. If both players use a move like Quick Attack, a round can be increased to up to 4 turns. At the beginning of each round speed is calculated, and the pokemon to take their turn first is decided.
HOW TO PLAY:
-Click “Fight” during your turn to choose an Attack.
-Click “Switch” during your turn to change pokemon.
Well… that was a short section LOL (laugh out loud)

MOVE MECHANICS:
The ranking system will work just about the same as in this game. See how Agumon has 5 Memory? Also, see the "SP" meter under his HP. That will replace Pokemon's PP for individual moves.
The select screen will look similar to Pokemon Stadium.
