Hello! Im Sakul and im currently working on my first Fangame with Rpg Maker xp: Pokemon Shadow! Im both new to this Programm aswell as this Website so i still have to understand all the diffrent settings e.t.c. But i thought i show what my Game is and will be about. I work on the Game awhile now, and hope to release a Demo soon aswell!
What is the Game about?
10 years after Raknarok, the destruction of most known land and the dissapearing of the Legendary, Trainer and Pokemon found a peacfull and fitting Place in Rhoda. Rhoda was a giant Region with many diffrent enviorments, suiting all Pokemon. Some Pokemon addapted but most could live theire normal life there. Trainer who used to live all around the globe now are gatherd together, and ofcourse many wanted to be the Champion of the Rhoda Pokemon League. But only one can claim this title, and so the biggest of all Tournaments began! You are a 20 year old Trainer from the Kanto Region, who had to escape like many others from the destroyed land. Your dad saw a great potential in you and wanted the Proffesor to give you a Pokemon. And so your adventure starts. But reality hits you hard, as you soon notice the Tournament is not the only thing shaking Rhoda.
What awaits you:
All Pokemon from the first 5 Gens are obtainable! I might make "Dlc" like additons in the future for Gen 6-8+ but because its already so massive on its own i stayed with gen 1-5 for now.
Meet many of the most famous Npc of the first 5 Gens, including former Champions and Gym Leaders and other famous trainers. And maybe some of the more shady and evil characters aswell....
17 Gyms! Yes one gym for every type... except fairy, as it was introduced in gen 6. Most Gyms are lead by Gym leaders from other Region who came here to continue theire task.
Stadiums! Stadiums are special Battle areas you will find in Rhoda. In those you will fight 10 Trainers up to a certain Level (20, 30, e.t.c) You can get tms, money and very rare Pokemon as reward! These Pokemon you can get no where else in the Rhoda Region!
Ancient Pokemon roam among us? Scientist found a fast way method to revive Ancient Pokemon, but it got out of hand! Many of them have become invading species, and roam now in caves, forests and lakes, fighting with the current Pokemon for food and space.
Regional forms! One Feature from Gen 7 and 8 i already introduced are Regional Forms! While Stat wise most are already done, Many Graphics are still missing. So if you see a regular pokemon with diffrent types or stats in the demo, its a future regional form! Also some of the existing Graphics will be changed aswell, as theire types change over development.
New Signitaure moves! Mostly for Regional Variants, there will be tons of new Signitaure moves fitting theire new design and origin.
Legendary Pokemon! Like in the newest Games of Gamefreak, your able to catch all Legendary Pokemon after the Main Story, however every Legendary will have a uniqe Puzzles and such to complete before. Some easier, some harder, depending on the Legendary.
Harder Fights. Trainer will be more difficult then casusal player might be used to. Specialy post game trainers aswell as gym leaders and other major opponents. You will need to think wisly before choosing a pokemon and move. This is supposed to balance out the fact that you have such a large pool of pokemon.
What i plan for the Future:
Selectable Difficulty: The player should be able to select between 3-4 Difficultys, depending if they want a casual expirence or one that needs more brainwork. Im not sure yet how to do it and want to finish the Main Game which will naturally be Medium or Hard difficulty on that Scale.
I hope to release the Demo as soon as possible, prolly already this Week. It will contain around 1 1/2 Hours of Gameplay and include the first Gym and the first main battle.
Ofcourse there might still be many flaws and its far from perfect, but i want to give a first impression of what im working at. This is a massive game and while take a while to work on, but i will update you regulary!
Working alone is not easy:
You will see some tilesets and Graphics that are not made by myself. In fact i suck at drawing, even simple things like that. Ofcourse i only use Graphics that are allowed to use, and i will credit every creator i use something from.
But i slowly start to run in a Problem. As mentioned before i suck at drawing, and i have lots of custom stuff to do. Regional Forms. Character models, tilesets, just to name a few. Do you maybe are passionated like me and want to help on such a massive Project? Or do you maybe know someone i can ask? Every help is welcomed and thanks ahead!
