Project Morpheus is a new fan game I’m currently developing; it has all 802 Pokémon and some new variants, as well as new mega evolutions and primal reversions.
The plot follows our protagonist, living in a modest fishing village south of the region. Their uncle is the chieftain of the village, and is very strict with the protagonist and the rival, their cousin. This seemingly idyllic life all changes one day when the rival suggests running from home to go on a journey. Seconds after leaving the village, a storm leaves the protagonist and the rival at the mercy of fate.
This is a pretty ambitious fan game that’s split into six acts; each act has its own mini story and villain, with the whole game having an overarching villain. The game itself has three themes that pervade the plot, music, magic, and dreams. If I can get my crap together, I’m hoping to get the first act out on demo by January.
You might be wondering what’s been done until this point; quite a bit actually.
My team has completely storyboarded the game, though things are subject to change. I’ve compiled most of the music that will be used in the game. We also have all of the battler sprites as well as tile sets and auto tiles. We also have stat blocks for all of the new megas and primals.
As for what needs to be done, we still need overworld trainer sprites in gen 4 style, as well as battler sprites for the new megas, variants, and primals. We also need official artwork as well.
We do need some custom music as well, specifically e4 and champ themes.
We also need good scriptures, for the new moves and abilities, as well as various small features.
Lastly, we need creative writers! Though we have the game storyboarded out, we can always use outside ideas to make the plot more appealing and playable.
