Team Mapper: Eevee Expo Trial I

It’s time for the first community event on the brand new Eevee Expo Forums! For our first ever event, we’re bringing back a fan favorite: Team Mapper! Our goal here is to create a large, unique map with different plots made by the community!

How will this Team Mapper Work?

The final map in total will be 96x96, and the grid of plots will be 8x8. That means that each plot will be 12 tiles horizontally by 12 tiles vertically. A small change with this team mapper is that it will be completed in rounds. Each round will last about a day, and each plot is associated with a round. You can find the grid of how this will work below.

If you would like to participate in the event please reply to this thread and you will be assigned a plot. Plots come on a first come, first serve basis and when plots of one round are all assigned, we will not begin assigning plots for the next round until we receive all of the previous round’s maps. For later rounds we will try to prioritize users that have not contributed to the map yet.

The tileset you have available to you when mapping is the default Essentials outside tileset. You may use any mapping software you’d like to complete your plot, but please keep in mind that you still need to adhere to the 3 layer constraint in RMXP.

When you are assigned a plot, please keep in mind the surrounding plots that have already been filled in. You will need to smoothly connect your plot with plots that have already been completed. Round 1 plots have no surrounding plots, Round 2 plots will have 2 adjacent plots filled out, Round 3 plots will have 2 adjacent plots and 4 diagonal plots filled out, and Round 4 plots will be completely surrounded.

Finally, when submitting your plot, please provide a screenshot of your plot without gridlines and with no layers dimmed. Below is the grid with numbers, and the colors correspond with rounds. The image will be updated after each round when maps are completed.

Here's an example of how I would participate!

So, all you need to do to sign up for a plot is to reply to this thread when we're accepting applications for plots. The status of the event will be updated below the plot grid picture. For example, a reply like this will work!
  • Sign me up for your finest plot!
Then the staff will reply to your post with a plot number that you'll get roughly 24 hours to complete. So for example, say I'm applying for a round 2 plot, I could get a response like this:
  • Hello Cade, you're assigned to plot 38!
So now, I have 24 hours to make a plot for plot number 38. For the later rounds, you'll have to keep into consideration what the adjacent plots look like. So, if we continue our example of plot 38, say plot 37 and 39 look like this:

Then, as the creator of plot 38, I have to keep in mind what will overlap into my plot from the other plots, and make sure that my plots flow into the other plots that are already there. So when I'm going to submit my map all I need to do is to take a screenshot of my plot and, if you're trying to help us out, include the plot number that you were assigned in your post! Something like this would be great!
  • Here's plot 38!

Also, notice how the map flows nicely from one plot to another. Here's what all three maps look like together.

Once you submit your plot, that's all you need to do! We recommend to stay active and check back on the thread, in case you need to fix your plot. You could have accidentally created a plot with the wrong dimensions (I did that once!) or it does not flow correctly with adjacent maps.

Here's the grid that we're working with!

This picture will be updated after each round with all of the incredible maps you all will contribute!
