Change Log
New feature: Soil types. This feature allows you to set berry planting spots to have different soil types. Each soil you define can have different effects on berry plants. Soil type is defined by adding berrysoil(<name>) to the Event Name of berry planting spots, where <name> is the name of the soil you've defined in BERRY_SOIL_DEFINITIONS in 000_Settings.
If using TDW Berry Core and Dex, you can also set berries to have a Preferred Soil.
Included graphic options you can add to your game to go along with these soils (tileset recolorings, moisture recolorings, plant_dirt recolorings (for Berrydex)). To install these graphics, open the "(Optional) Soils Addons" folder in the downloaded folder, then install everything found in the Graphics folder. Using the "Tileset_Soils_Addon", you can add my provided tileset recoloring to your existing tilesets.
New feature: Debugging a plant. While playtesting, hold CTRL when interacting with a berry planting spot to access a debug menu. Currently, you can view information about the plant or reset the plant.
When using a composter, added an option to read the lid again (to read the instructions).
New feature: Watering can traits. While there are several watering can options for the player in base essentials, they aren't really different from each other. Now, you can define traits that get applied to a berry plant when you water it at least once with a specific watering can. For instance, you could make the Sprayduck boost the final yield of the plant and the Sprinklotad lower the chance of weeds and pests interfering with the plant.
Added a BERRY_WATERING_USES_ALWAYS_FULL setting to allow setting some watering cans to always be considered full (if you are using watering can levels).
Added a BERRY_PREVENT_WATERING_IF_MAXED setting to prevent the player from watering a berry plant if it's already at max moisture.
Added a BERRY_WATER_IF_RAINING setting to control whether berry plants are watered when it's raining on the same map.
Added a water gauge graphic to appear in the BerryPots scene if using that plugin and have BERRY_PREVENT_WATERING_IF_MAXED active.
Added instructions to the Setup and Documentation document for how to add unique watering graphics for specific watering cans. For instance, if your base graphic is called "girl_watering" and you want to include a unique graphic while using the Sprayduck, add a graphic called “girl_watering_SPRAYDUCK”.
This feature was technically available in v1.7, I just forgot to document it.
Fixed issue where if it was raining, the watering animation would occur constantly.
Fixed issue where berry plants would dry out very fast if they had weeds or pests.
Possible Incompatibility:Had to overwrite the pbBerryPlant function, so any plugin that also changes that function may be incompatible.
New feature: Watering animation. You can now show character animations when watering berry plants. You must provide your own graphics (I suggest Ulithium_Dragon's https://reliccastle.com/resources/342/)
New feature: Watering can fill levels. Watering cans can now run out of water. Have the player fill them up using the pbFillWateringCans command, such as via a well event (example in the Setup and Documentation document).
Note: If using the BerryPots plugin, there is a manual change needed for it to support this feature (See the Setup and Documentation document).
Made some changes to allow choosing which watering can to use to water plants, if you have more than one.
Added Boost Mulch and Amaze Mulch.
Added new BERRY_REPEL_WORKS_ON_PESTS setting to allow active repels to chase away pests.
Made some changes to Persistence to allow for preplanted berry plants to have a chance of persisting. Added new BERRY_PERSISTENT_FOR_PREPLANTED setting to set whether to allow it or not.
Made some changes to some of the settings to allow more clear ways to fully turn on/off features. Changes:
Renamed BERRY_ALLOW_DIGGING_UP to BERRY_ALLOW_DIGGING_UP_SWITCH_ID and allowed switch control and using booleans.
ALLOW_BERRY_MUTATIONS_SWITCH_ID now allows using booleans.
ALLOW_BERRY_PROPAGATION_SWITCH_ID now allows using booleans.
SHOW_BERRIES_ON_MAP_SWITCH_ID now allows using booleans.
Possible Incompatibility:Had to bypass the pbPickBerry function in the Overworld_BerryPlants script, so any plugin that also changes that function may not run.
New feature: Persistent Plant. Usually, berry plants will disappear after their berries are picked. You can make it so berry plants persist after picking, just like real fruit trees.
