This resource pertains to version 21.1 of Pokémon Essentials.

When I walk around in grass and encounter a pokemon, the normal BGM is still playing and my screen flashes white twice over about 3 seconds and THEN the wild pokemon BGM starts playing. Then it shows the shadow of the pokemon that I encountered but it stays black for an extra second or 2 before finally getting revealed and doing its cry.

The actual battle itself plays fine tho. Well, until I faint the enemy pokemon and it does the exact same thing as it did when it entered the battle. It focuses on the pokemon for an extra second or 2 and then does the faint cry.

I didn't do anything aside from clicking the "Go to download" button which took me to the GitHub page and then clicking the "Latest release" button and downloaded the Source.zip file. I extracted it and it seemed to be Vanilla Essentials v21.1 with EBDX already installed along with a few other plugins. I'm guessing that's all I had to do because I don't see anything else mentioned. Am I missing something?

i have the same issue
This looks really cool and it's my first time ever using it but I have a weird issue where there seems to be a lag when the pokemon shows up as well as when it faints. Also when I encounter a wild pokemon.

I like this port, runs great. THAT BEING SAID, some of the sprites are not positioned correctly and a most of the gen 9 sprites are oversized.

That depends on the sprites and the metrics you set for them and not on the plugin instead 😅
Staying on top of fixes is really appreciated. This is a popular plugin for good reason.
The changes to make EBDX work with v21 are not trivial, and this resource gets it pretty damn near perfect. Active maintainer, good communication in the discussion, can't ask for much more.
Improving all the time (for now, anyway lol) and striving to make it work despite the official site for documentation being removed!
