Created in Pokémon Essentials v18.1 (+MKXP)

Plot
It is by chance one day that you fall into the Honnis Underground, left to fend for yourself with only a single Pokéball. It is through a rather unusual series of events that you find yourself wrapped up in a conspiracy involving the beloved "Baker's Dozen"! Will you save the region from chaos? Will you uncover the secrets of the Honnis Region? Will you beat 8 gyms and the Pokémon League in the process? ...Probably.

The Honnis region is a sprawling and diverse land filled with countless different Pokémon and cities filled with all kinds of interesting people and places.

Though it contains countless secrets of its own, its most interesting feature is undoubtedly the Honnis Underground, a vast network of cave systems containing hundreds of Pokémon that cannot be found anywhere else in the region. Pokémon within it are more active than their surface counterparts, and there are some individuals that have demonstrated unusual amounts of strength and aggression.
It is said that the Pokémon within have the mysterious property of 'scaling' to the strength of your party!

  • Through the use of the EZ-Oven and some recipes, you can even craft your own Pokétreats at any time!

  • Followers do not have their running animations work correctly (also present in base essentials).
  • Selecting the same destination as your current location in the fly menu doesn’t refund your money w/ Fearow Guy.
  • Beating a miniboss in an Expedition will very rarely cause the game to freeze

Not technically bugs but
  • Music does not loop correctly due to issues with v18’s version of MKXP.
  • Scatterbug swarms will instantly disappear when the timer event triggers.
  • A few Pokémon are missing one or more of their new shiny forms. This will be fixed at a later date.

(posting mostly to actually bump the thread. since because it was made in preparation for the Eevee Expo and wasn't approved until it aired, it's displayed as having been posted in October rather than today oops)

Progress is going relatively smoothly for the game, with the main story content of the demo being long-done and the remaining effort being put into the missing graphics and side content scattered throughout the game. Even for just a demo, I want the player to have a good variety of side activities to do.
And since I'm the only one working primarily on the meat of the game and I'm still occupied off-and-on with school, I can't guarantee any real release date other than "2024 probably".

...But I can show off some examples of the miscellaneous features I didn't put screenshots for in the thread, mostly because they weren't implemented when I first got around to creating the thread.
Namely:
  • Two additional shiny variations for every Pokémon
  • Marks can also be acquired through defeating wild Pokémon instead of being limited to newly captured Pokémon
  • TMs can now be taught directly from the summary screen (and even in PC boxes) instead of requiring you to manually sift through your bag.

There's quite a bit more in the way of additions and neat little bits of polish I haven't even touched upon, but I'd rather just leave that as a surprise for the demo that will probably come out eventually.
though I will try to post actual documentation when the time actually comes 😎

Damn this look great want to try it out now. Hope the demo has some hours to it. I want to think my teeth into it

Cool and epic game. If needed I might be able to help you out with beta testing if needed. I'm really experienced with it. Tho but I do it at a slow pace.

I appreciate the offer, but I should be fine on beta testing right now, since I've already got a few beta testers lined up on top of the fact I already try and playtest pretty thoroughly myself

How many new eeveelutions and new regional variants are going to be in this game? I'm excited to test out this game when the time comes.

The only type that's not represented with an Eeveelution is Normal, but with the Treat Trait making base Eevee perfectly viable, that's not really much of an issue.

Also, I'm not going to give an exact number of how many regional variants there are, partially to keep it a surprise but mostly because it's very subject to change, but there are more than 30 currently in the game, and significantly more planned for the full game

So when will it be released? Like 2025/26 or more?... I can't wait to explore that underworld

A demo that will contain three gyms plus a bit of extra story content (but the game already has quite a lot of content as is and the level curve goes up to the mid 40s even despite being only three gyms) is slated for release in the next few months.

As for when the full game releases, I have no way of being certain, since my development schedule isn't fully consistent and I'm still occupied with school and soon work when I'm not working on this.

Hey mak because it might be a 3 gym demo does that mean that all starter evolutions will be ready within the game?

Still kicking. Just been dealing with other stuff for the past couple of months.

Glad to see this good screenshot update and you're healthy. I honestly thought the development maybe on hiatus or stop but I'm glad is wrong. Hope the demo out someday and stay healthy
