Welcome to the eighth annual Relic Castle Game Jam!

For the uninformed: a game jam is an event where developers will get together and make a game. It sounds simple at first glance, but making a good game is much more difficult and time consuming than you might think. Participating in one is a great way to challenge yourself, learn new skills, and polish your overall experience as a game developer.

It has not been too long since the results of the Winter Game Jam 3 were announced, and here we are back again with a brand new game jam! If you're interested in a list of all the games people have created in past game jams, have a look at Foxowl's Archive Thread!

The Pokémon fan game community is an amazing place, and that's all thanks to each and every one of you. Take pride in that, and your hard work! Let's make this game jam a special one!

• Looking to recruit: Writers(To write dialogue and flesh out story), Spriters(Gen 2 or 3 style, I need both), and lastly if you are good at anything please don't be scared to message me with what you are good at!
• Jam Entry Title: Pokemon Broken
• Summary: After you were given a pocketwatch that holds together all of time you run into a shady figure which then breaks the pocketwatch breaking all of time. You then have to go throughout all of time, past, future, and present to gather pieces that the original builder of the pocketwatch can build a pocketwatch to keep time in place. The heart of this builder's life though, is his niece who he then figures out a sad truth about right when he was going to give her his gift, a Magearna.

• Looking to recruit: Sprites that can manage Overworld Sprites for Trainers (Generation 4 Style). Trainer Battler spriter would be lovely also, but not has highly required.

• Progress/Screenshots: No screenshots as of yet but great progress has been made on the scripting and programming of the base systems that will run the experience.

• Additional Information: Pokémon World Summit is a expansion and a combination of both the Battle Factory and Pokémon World Tournament game modes from Pokémon games past. Curate the perfect team by battling trainers, customizing your moves and taking part in battle challenges.

• Jam Entry Title: Pokemon Long Lost
• Summary: Pokemon Long Lost is about a teen and their mother who get magically transported into the Pokemon world where, on their quest to return home, they must come to terms with what they've lost and what they still have with the help of a special Pokemon capable of fostering connection.

Jam Entry Title: Pokemon: Variant 7360

Progress/Screenshots: Outline of story and plot. Some important dialogue done.

Summary: You are a normal Pokemon protagonist. You choose your appearance and name before being thrust into the world of Pokemon. You get your running shoes and off to the Professor lab. You talk to Professor Maple and everything is going good. You choose your new fakemon starter Pokemon and Maple brings up the Pokedex and Gym Challenge. And then... you refuse. Shocked by this turn of events, Maple ousts you out of his lab. Explore the story of you, the variant that the world wasn't ready for... And Professor Maple's lab might not be the only one you encounter on your journey.

Additional Information: There will be a few regional forms and 3 fakemon lines and many puzzles in this game. It might seem like a normal game but as the story kicks in, things take a turn for the weirder.

Additional Information: This Fan Game will center around partner trainers. Throughout this game the player will take on 5 Gym Leaders while participating in the Ariend Championships, a tournament held to find the greatest trainer. The competition was put together and managed by a young prince who wishes to prove his own might in the tournament. There is one rule to this tournament though, your must team up with a partner in order to win, across the island are trainers waiting to battle and join you in your quest to become the strongest trainer ever!

Back in 2022, there was a laboratory. In which, those who act as Team Rocket, steal children, only then to to experiment on them. HOWEVER! They once stole a child, that is... As some legends say: ,,Cavern Alien, Crystal born from so dangerous UwUid"... But what are those? Do we know?
Going into the future, 2100, we have evolved. The world is at peace, and technology is getting better, however, only the cities that we're once big in the past, are even bigger now. That being said the whole world only knows 2 languages, Unownian, and English. With, of course, the exception being the Alien, that had escaped the laboratory, soon after 5th of july. The same escaper, is now called Crystal Maiden in the legends. Its said, that she has in total 12 legendary and mythical pokemon. Those being... Diancie, Hoopa, Both Forms of Urshifu, Tapu Lele, Tapu Fini, Regieleki, Regidrago, Necrozma, Xerneas, Latios and Mewtwo. (she is stacked we know) Hiding in the depths of Crystal Cavern, she emerges when earth is in threat.


So, why dont you be in her shoes, for a lifespan of the playtrough?

Progress: Exterior maps done, minor UI redesign almost complete, almost all planned gameplay changes implemented. Save for a couple of events near the end of the game it is pretty much playable start to finish.

Summary: In the Aksala region, there is an epidemic of people turning into half-Pokémon. While you will be doing normal things like dealing with the evil team and doing the gym challenges, the player will also have to deal with this epidemic-like problem.
Progress/Screenshots: We have a lot of the unique code of the game done, as well as much of the map for the project we intend to submit(We intend to submit a demo, and work on a full game afterwords).

Plot:You're finally able to get at your current age a Pokémon but in the Ransei region itself you quickly explore "Moundswath Hills" an open area to those new trainers with the ever-so Professor Ivica waiting in the hills for your first try of getting a Pokémon of 3 Types: Water,Ghost and Grass
Also Features: Multiple Protagonists, Semi Open-World
