Released - Pokemon Eire - V1.1

Hi there! After playing Radical Red about 500 times, I decided that I really wanted a similar game challenge wise but I had played too much Kanto. The only logical next step was to make my own game. So.... Welcome to Eire! A fully custom region based on Ireland. The game was made in RPG Maker with Pokemon Essentials v21. This was a solo project made over the course of 6 months, so shoutout to Thundaga for the amazing Essentials tutorials and ChatGPT for Ruby coding syntax.

A Brand-New Region

Explore Eire, a completely original region inspired by Ireland - towns, routes, myths, and landscapes.
A custom story with new teams, characters, and challenges.

Story

I wanted Pokémon Eire to follow the classic Pokémon journey structure - collect 8 Badges, challenge the Elite Four, and rise to become Champion. I've always enjoyed the structure and wanted to stick to it. Along the way, you'll run into Team Droch, an evil group hell bent on exploiting the legendary Divine Six (Ho-Oh, Lugia, Arceus, Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza) for their own power.
Balancing against them is the Church of Solas, an influential religious order that plays a major role in the region's culture and story. But as your journey unfolds, you'll discover that things aren't always as simple as good vs. evil…

Features

Pokémon up to Gen 9
- Every Pokémon is included, with full availability by the post-game. *TBD on some post game additions.
Randomizer Options
- Randomize Pokémon, abilities, and items, similar to Radical Red.
Tools & Documentation
- Full Damage Calculator and Pokédex available outside the game for planning teams and strategies, similar to Run and Bun. Calculator read me included in game files.
- All custom Pokémon buffs/nerfs fully documented, so you always know what's changed.
Challenge Options
- Optional level cap system with a Poke Center Helper NPC to match your team to the cap.
- Minimal Grinding Mode with toggleable options:
  - IVs/EVs both off
  - or just EVs off
- Built-in Nuzlocke Mode.
Quality of Life Improvements
- Speed-up mode for faster grinding/exploring.
- EVs/IVs viewable directly on the party screen.
- Toggleable Repel.
- Infinite Rare Candies.
- Special rare candies that allow you to go over the level cap (limited).
- Improved UI.
- Quest system for side content and to help guide you.
- Heart Scale trading for egg moves.
- Portable PC in menu.
- Poke vial for healing without a Poke Center.
- Reusable consumable held items.
- Multiple save files.
- If a Pokemon can learn a HM, it can use it out of battle. no need to teach the move!
Play Your Way
- Designed for challenge runs and Nuzlockes, but also works for standard playthroughs.
Mechanics Mix
- Both Mega Evolution and Terastallization included. (I'm not a huge fan of Dynamax and Zmoves).
- Core mechanics updated to Gen 9 standards.
Custom Content
- New moves and abilities (with more planned).
- Custom buffs/nerfs to make weaker Pokémon viable - all fully documented.
- Gen 3-inspired visuals and design for that nostalgic feel.
- Multiple double and triple battles throughout the game.
- Trainer gauntlets that restrict healing and PC usage.
- All enemy trainers have custom teams that are built for a challenge (movesets, abilities, natures, items).
- Gigantamax forms turned to megas to provide more mega variations.
- Overworld encounters as well as random (turned off in options by default)
- Option to evolve and heal through the team menu, similar to modern games.
- Make sure to call your Ma before and after gyms!
- New Game+ mode is unlockable once you have defeated the Elite Four rematch. Carry over items and Pokemon.

Current Progress

Complete game - full story, Champion, and post-game content.
Includes Battle Tower and a custom built Rogue Tower roguelike mode for post game replay value.

Wishlist / Future Plans

Expanding side quests across early/mid-game.
More custom sprites for gyms/leaders/overworld (I'm very much not an artist - help welcome!).
Currently all gym leaders are built off of existing characters but now that the game is mostly complete, I'd like to build custom gym leaders.
More legendary events.
