Essentials FRLG

Engine/Dev Kit Essentials FRLG 21.1 / 1.1

This is a development kit that can be used to create other types of projects.
Hi! This project has been super useful for learning Pokémon Essentials, thank you very much!
I found a bug that does not let you advance beyond the first rival fight if you lose. The rival enters a loop where he moves down and left and challenges you again every time.
Has anyone encountered this before?
Thank you so much, makes me so happy to hear that!

There were multiple problems with the starter selection event, which was surprisingly enough the most complicated one in the entire game, haha. I did a sneak patch a while ago where I fixed some of the issues but it's not impossible that a problem or two slipped by. I'll check it out and fix it! :)

Hey! Just wanted to ask how's the Sevii Islands going?

One resource that could speed things up drastically is this open-source game (see the credits section) called Pokemon Zero by zerokid. It includes all of the Sevii Islands maps. In fact, you may even be able to use CTRL + A on the map from this game in RPG Maker XP, then CTRL + V paste it into an empty map in this project with the correct tileset. The events are mostly authentic / unchanged, thought the PBS files are from v19.

Hi, I found many graphics on spriters-resource that aren't in your project. Deoxys Overworld, maybe some trainers, Primo and the old man from viridian city, who teaches how to catch a Pokémon. FRLG Interface and Bag Screens, Type amd Status Icons, oh there are so many graphics on spriters-resource. Maybe you might want to add them. If you need any help, just pm me. But don't hurry, take your time!

I haven't gotten all that far yet. I only started working on Sevii Islands recently since I was quite burned out after the initial release. Hoping to release it before the beginning of summer. :)

Even though I prefer to make everything on my own, I downloaded Pokémon Zero and it looks like a fantastic reference resource at least, thanks for the recommendation!

Np mate, I literally just got back into fangame dev after my own burnout & irl responsibilities taking over 😅

Keep up the good work, mate! I've been using your resource extensively for my own Kanto + Sevii game :)
